Doppelganger || Chunji & Chen
Chunji’s moods changed like that of a tropical climate –it was nearly always muggy, and it would rain…but on occasion things would take a sudden turn into the storms. Now, most people would assume that these ‘storms’ were about more negative emotions, and he couldn’t lie, he still had moments like that, but some of those cleared out old, dead plants. Obviously this metaphor would not have gone on for so long if the latter was the case –and that was exactly it. His largest exception was when he got into the mood to prank, and while he normally didn’t feel inclined to do this, some days his fingers just itched until he made annoying magic.
Today happened to be one of those days, so Chanhee hid himself outside, waiting around for the perfect person to wander by. Some seemed like they couldn’t take a job, some didn’t seem like they’d give the proper reaction, and others seemed too busy for him to interrupt them. His desire had begun to fade into a dulled apathy, until the perfect new victim wandered by –a new cirque member, in fact. Smiling to himself, he stole along the tree line, eyes skimming over this man’s form like he was thinking to purchase some fruit and wanted to check to see if it was ripe enough. As each part became committed to memory, his body shifted to fit it, him even going ahead a bit when he did the legs and spine, just so he wouldn’t have to run to keep up afterward.
When he had fully taken on this new form, he could only hope that he had formed the throat properly enough that the voice would sound right. Chunji had no choice but to try it like that, and he took a deep breath, before he burst out of the trees, letting a panicked look encompass his new face as he cried, “You need to help me!” Hands grasped at the man’s shirt, his own widening with fear and shock, as he slipped further into this role that in reality he had no real idea on how to play. He should have watched more thoroughly; he should have stolen some of his clothes, rather than go in his own, though they still fit. For a perfect prank, he should have done all of the things listed above and more –but he wasn’t out to commit a perfect prank. Simply enough, he was out to have some fun, and that was what he would do.
