The pumpkin pie I made for Thanksgiving! This recipe comes courtesy of the man, the myth, the legend himself, Chef John from FoodWishes,com. This year will be my first time trying his pumpkin pie, but knowing Chef John, it'll be amazing. Chef John’s Pumpkin Pie 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust 1 15 oz. can pumpkin puree 1 whole egg 3 egg yolks 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk 1/8 t. Chinese five-spice powder 1/4 t. freshly-grated nutmeg 1/2 t. salt 1/2 t. ginger 1 t. cinnamon Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a pie dish. Roll out your crust and line the dish with it, cutting off the excess dough and crimping the edges. Set aside. In a bowl, whisk together the pumpkin, egg, and egg yolks until smooth. Add the sweetened condensed milk, Chinese five-spice powder, nutmeg, salt, ginger, and cinnamon. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Pour filling into prepared crust. Lightly tap on the counter to release air bubbles. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F. Bake until just set, 30-40 minutes more.
