UNTIL 2016

coming from a new money family, junho never took anything he had for granted. as a kid, he was always seen as kind and loved by all his family's employees for being so down to earth.

he always had this dream of helping people with his family's money since the whole lavish lifestyle never really suited him (even though his parents protested). you'd often see him giving away his toys and clothes to random kids he met.

even though he was passionate about it, his parents never took it seriously. to them, it was just a silly kid's dream, and they figured he'd eventually forget about it and start hanging out with more influential people.

that actually happened when they enrolled him in a prestigious school, and junho quickly realized he could be much more helpful if he was on the good side of these kids' families.

he started to dress and talk more like them, but deep down, he knew that even with his best efforts, he could never be like them since his family and their scandalous empire were never taken seriously.

sometime around high school, he decided to focus on other things instead, like becoming an exemplary student and giving another shot at trying to help people with a charity he planned himself and that was enough to him to ended up in snu.

being recruited for the club wasn't something he expected; it caught him by surprise. but all that determination and hunger for acceptance came rushing back, and he started giving his best to get in—even though he knew beating hyungseo would be almost impossible.

then the impossible happened—hyungseo died. he was actually happy that the competition was gone, and he could finally enjoy being part of something important.

UNTIL 2024

during his time in uni, he made good use of his connections, using them to distance himself from his family's brand and build a career of his own in law.

by the time he graduated, he had the best opportunities laid out for him and started working at one of the biggest law firms in the country, using the silent power of the club to reach even higher.

he was almost certain he could just take the money from the family, build a respectable legacy, and live among the other wealthy without being looked down.

but then, of course, his dad had to ruin everything and died… leaving junho very mad about it and with a legacy he wasn’t looking for.

now he was trapped again by his family name and the chain he hated so much, this time with no escape route since all the money came from it.

he doesn’t really know how to run a business and is struggling a lot with it, which adds insult to injury. but again, he’s determined to make good use of it and maybe a rebrand in the future so people forget about his father legacy.

PERSONALITY

junho is incredibly driven, always pushing himself to prove he’s more than just his family’s reputation. he genuinely cares about others and wants to make a difference, even though this is kinda forgotten in him. he feels a lot of pressure to fit into the elite world.

he often struggles with self-doubt and frustration, especially when balancing his values with what’s expected of him.

despite the challenges—like managing his family’s business and climbing the social ladder—he stays resilient and adaptable. junho is smart and strategic, using his connections and opportunities to his advantage.

although he’s constantly seeking approval and dealing with insecurities, his charm and natural charisma help him build influential relationships.

ambitious as ever, junho is determined to surpass his family’s success and leave his own mark.

glimpses of his conflicted self are hard for others to see, but they're there. somewhere inside, he’s still that kid who just wanted to be a good guy, but it’s hard now when he’s trying not to be a joke.

BACKGROUND

pretentious nonsense full bio

tl;dr : guy who's a supporting character in his own story suffers a minor existential crisis in deciding between (a) wanting to do his own thing and (b) fulfilling the role he was quite literally created to play. unfortunately, he's made this everyone else's problem.

this is subject to change if needed to fit with e2, but i imagined the yoon family to run a silicon mining business that skyrocketed in no small part due to eunseok's father marrying into a family that manufactures semiconductors.

eunseok's father . . . now there's a real schemer. everything he did was designed to gain control of the family company, and eunseok was no exception. eunseok has grown up acutely aware of this, and is completely normal and unaffected as a result.

eunseok wasn't always a menace!! eunseok always had a predilection for mischief, but genuinely tried to be the perfect heir as a child — though he soon realized that nothing he did really mattered. if he did everything he was supposed to do, fine. that was the minimum expectation. if he acted out, the consequences would just be swept away like the trouble never happened. yoon eunseok had a very particular role to fulfill, you see, and something like proper parenting wasn't going to get in the way of eunseok's father's plan to take over the family company.

and so a monster was born.

2013 (+ 2016) : invited to the club to terrorize the other initiates. wish i was joking about this one. driven to succeed because (a) he plays to win and this is the sort of environment he thrives in, unfortunately, and (b) as a fuck you to the other initiates in his class. interestingly, the actual benefits of being in the king's club are at most a tertiary motivation to eunseok — i guess one of the weaknesses of never concocting your own schemes is that you aren't great at long-term planning. throws notorious parties. kinda notorious, period — there are rumors that he'll hook up with anyone tall and beautiful, regardless of gender (this is true); that he races mclarens on the weekends (this is false); and that he bribed (true), slept with (false), and physically threatened (technically false) his way to the top end of the class. endlessly ambitious and seemingly insatiable, you might be wondering: what's the point, if eunseok's whole deal is that he'll trot obediently back to daddy's side when the man calls?

well, i'm not saying that it's the painful crash at the end. but i'm not not saying that, either. i don't think eunseok really knows, himself.

2024 : the pawn is put in play; the dog is leashed. placed as an evp somewhere, then named coo upon his father's ascension to ceo/chairman/whatever. appears to have chilled out dramatically, but time will tell whether this is maturity, resignation, or mere suppression. :)))))))

PERSONALITY

entj. waffles between chaotic neutral and chaotic evil.

character inspo/parallels include roman roy, sylvain gautier, dorian gray, the cuntier end of taemin's solo discography (stream eternal out aug 19!!!!), the weeknd's trilogy album, nero, and lestat de lioncourt. also my uni roommate's various finance-bro exes. lmao.

all of this to say: think of the most annoying guy you know. think of a shark in the water. think of a poorly-trained bloodhound let off the leash. think of blood, generally — something slick and thrumming and visceral. if eunseok wants something, he will take it, because honestly? eight times out of ten, the taking is what he really wants, in the end.

weirdly intense but deeply unserious lol.

he's no master manipulator . . . moreso a cudgel lol. does very little plotting for how often he seems to be Making Moves(tm). how things never really come back to bite him should be studied in a lab, or maybe made into a hbs case study, but he's smarter than most people give him credit for, particularly in actual business management (unironically i think he would thrive as a logistics guy), but he cares little for mind games and saving face and also likes baiting fights for fun so. yeah.

thinks everyone playing nice is a hypocrite and a dummy! comes across as super arrogant but like in his mind . . . he's just being honest? like, yeah. he's rich. he wins a lot. by virtue of him winning, someone else, e.g., you, are a loser. life is short so why are we wasting time pretending otherwise?

ooough i wanna punch eunseok just reading this back. ironically i'd still absolutely go to the club with him because despite it all you know our boy is good fun. also you'll probably leave with an insane story. but i digress.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

these r. rough but! i'm really very open to brainstorming!!

a childhood friend — someone who witnessed eunseok's various metamorphoses and who is probably the only person, other than eunseok's father, who was unsurprised when eunseok fell in line after graduation. i'm flexible re: the exact contours of the relationship (ride or dies for life! drifted apart! bitter enemies), but i like the idea of someone knowing eunseok better than he knows himself.

2024 : if yr muse is involved with electronics: i present to u the (pending) heir of korea's largest semiconductor manufacturer. mwah ok.

2016 : love, hate, whatever — the point is that eunseok is used to evoking strong reactions. your muse, however, doesn't seem to care at all, nonreactive to flirtation and fury, and that really doesn't sit well with eunseok. tensions are high; maybe this volatility comes to a head.

2016 : alternately, maybe an initiate who has gotten the idea of gaining eunseok's approval into their head (get well soon!). get ready to have your time supremely wasted, buddy.

2016 : another envelope-pusher. yeah, the king's club parties, but you two party, making recklessness a game.

2016 (+2024, maybe!) : the person whose door eunseok finds himself stumbling to when the party's over. in the haze between intoxication and sobriety, you get to see a eunseok that even eunseok doesn't get to see — one that voices insecurities and worries. it's a weird sense of trust, and not even one necessarily tied to fondness (though it could be!). it could also be fun, i think, if they didn't keep in touch but for eunseok drunk-dialing your muse. that'll make the reunion exciting, eh!!

friends. enemies. flings. i don't necessarily know that eunseok's capable of holding down a relationship but i think it could be funny to see him try. in 2024 his family's probably trying to set him up with someone, so that could be something, maybe?

BACKGROUND ,

Jin Yohan was born in the spring of 1994, and adopted in the first month of 1995 by a real estate chaebol and his wife during a time of public scrutiny. They saved him from the clutches of his abusive mother, is how the story goes.

Yohan is lucky. What child ( what person ) would not be thankful to be in such a well off family? He has everything he can ask for. The only caveat is that his parents are rather content reminding him just how fortunate he is. After all, he is not their real son. Just a poor, adopted boy.

His childhood is relatively uneventful and normal. But his temper is just like his father's, despite not being of the same blood. He sets out to prove himself in different ways. Anyone would get a little insecure if they had parents like his — especially his father, the cold bastard he is.

As a teen, he acts out here and there to get their attention. Any attention is good, right? But when he's bored playing little delinquent, he goes back to diligently attending his taekwondo classes and acting the filial role they require him to if he wants to stay in the family.

2012 is something of his break out year. He wins the national taewondo championship. ( Maybe it's the way he gets into the head of his opponent the night before, but it's best not to speculate. ) It is his ticket into attending SNU. In 2015, he wins once more. On these days, his father finally seems a bit proud.

Once accepted, he throws get togethers at his off campus apartment and the empty properties owned by his family's company. The sole aim being building rapport and connections. He has something of a knack for socializing and using his wits to talk himself into things, connections, deals, despite his stoic nature. Not too long after, he is approached to be an initiate for the King's Club.

Meeting Noh Hyungseo is an intriguing event. In him, he thinks he sees little bits of himself or, rather, a much better version. Ambitious and stand-out enough to get his attention. Somehow, Yohan gets to him first. It's best to get him where he wants to be, even with his caveats. Something in him knows he will feel more than a hint of pride when Hyungseo inevitably makes it in. He's destined for it... Until he isn't.

His death shakes him to the core. He is unable to contend with the fact that his mind is convinced it is all his fault that he drowns. He thinks of all the things he should have done to keep it from happening. The guilt is enough to make that mask slip. If only he didn't let him go through with it. He thinks it's his fault, and the cover up does nothing to help his worries.

He makes quite the outburst at Hyungseo's funeral ( where he quite loudly called him a "fucking idiot" among other things he doesn't remember ) , and has a subsequent major mental breakdown after his parents drive him home. ( Read: punching a hole in the living room wall. Chill? )

Yohan is "urged" by his mother to enlist in the military shortly after graduation, where he trains in special forces. It helps him simmer down only so much, and he develops quite the smoking habit.

When he returns, he lands a job in his family's company as a real estate broker, what his father always expected of him, even if he craves more and knows he will move up the company slowly but surely.

By 2024, he's holed himself up in a 7 acre property purchased with his own money. ( How he got it is an easy answer. Through sincere means, of course, but it doesn't mean he knows how to bend a few morals to stay at the top of his game. ) He's also taken it upon himself to raise two wolfdogs. For extra protection.

The real unfortunate thing is that awful birth mother of his somehow finding his number and calling him until he picks up. He meets with her, against his better judgement ( finds it eerie they have the same eyes ), and she wants to weasel her way into his life... and his wallet. Or else. :)

PERSONALITY ,

2016 : Well, he likes to think of himself as more cunning than he, perhaps, truly is. Somehow, he manages to get by. He has that sort of smile that used car salesmen wear when they lock eyes on you in the lot. The cadence of someone trying to sell you on something. What he wants from you, he may well try to get. But it's easy to get turned off by him. His temper is short, and he is as vindictive as they come as the smallest slight. He learns that intimidation can earn him advantages, and a silver tongue can get him all the way there. But he is rather serious for his age, and his insecurities about his standing may be obvious. Have you ever seen someone so defensive and snippy?

2024 : He is if stoicism is a man made flesh. The mask is heavy. He tries his best to keep his cool, and he is quite the ball of stress and bitterness. The extroverted, social young man prefers retreating into himself and spending time at home or working. He has no time for frivolous things. The person he once was is still there, but he finds himself looking over his shoulder far more, trusting people far less than the little he already did. He carries a significant amount of guilt about Hyungseo's death. It's a sensitive topic for him, so tread lightly ( or.. don't ).

The type of guy who doesn't fuck around that much. Not to say he is incapable of having fun or relaxing, but his future is important to him.

Relationships come difficult for him. What kind of person performs background checks and suggests STD tests to their prospects? He hopes the question alone is enough to scare away those who are only out to take advantage of his status. That naïve yearning to be loved has vanished in those years. ( Mostly. ) If anything, he does the using.

It's also of note that he's in the bi closet, and he does not discover this until a revelation while in the military.

Unhinged but masks it. There's always a thin layer above seeing his sanity slip. Will blackmail and intimidate you at the drop of a hat. Fuck around and find out.

Grump who just needed a hug from mommy and daddy to fix him. Too bad it's too late for that.

Chaotic Neutral type beat. He's not inclined to always follow the rules, and prefers to do things to keep his position secured, but he's not above acts of kindness or generosity. Rules are meant to be broken if you can find a loophole. Has plenty of thoughts of doing fucked shit but only acts on half of them... sometimes.

Aries. The fire sign vibes run so deep. He is passionate, argumentative, and can hold a nasty grudge that he will get you back for. Fr you could have just stepped on his foot in the hall without apologizing and he'll put a scorpion in your pocket. That being said, there's deffo some Scorpio in there for him but idk where

Picks up well on the behaviors of others and is the first person to point it out or say something about it. Very observant and aware of his surroundings. It's just all about if you want people to believe that or not.

Lowkey will tell you what he hates about you. Will be your #1 hater. ( Just ask Rh1 ) xo

CONNECTIONS ,

While I prefer to brainstorm, I'm putting a few base ideas I have.

I love a good frenemies type beat, and it's easy to see how Yohan could be simultaneously hostile, yet oddly attached to certain people.

Past relationship that has gone wrong. ( It's most likely all of them, I fear. ) Abandonment issues. Check. Short temper? Check. Daddy issues? Check. And Jin Yohan doesn't get broken up with. He breaks up with people. ( Allegedly (2). 🙄 )

A secret sorta fling could work out for him. If I'm gonna be real. Very deep deep deep down, he just wants to feel wanted. Even if that person is not great for him or committed, as long as they make him feel wanted in the moment and not dumped on the curb, he'll appreciate it while it lasts.

Obviously this guy is a bit aggro so, it stands to reason he's made a few sour bonds in his lifetime. And nearly fought quite a few people, I'm sure. That's a thing...

Actual, sincere friends. He will have very, very few. It's difficult to get his trust because he's so slow to and thinks everyone's going to turn around and leave him or do something to him.

He basically cut everyone off after graduation. Catch him sprinting to avoid you in the grocery store if you try to talk to him.

Hyungseo was Yohan's pick for an initiate. Are you a fellow Chessmaster who didn't exactly approve of his choice? Good luck talking him out of it. Though, in current day, you have every right to say "I told you so".

1993 liner, scorpio sun aries moon. so basically a mess.

she comes from a conservative family that thinks women aren't cut for the big pants jobs, and is one of the first to truly challenge that. in time she's earned her father's trust and appreciation, and he paraded her around as the perfect child which earned her an easy invitation to the club.

has two younger brothers, and while the youngest looks up to her and was coached by her to join the club as well, the middle sibling never made the cut and is endlessly resentful of that.

has a weird relationship with her mother, sort of resents her for not trying to break the mold? but also understands her role in the family and takes solace in her comfort from time to time. her mother taught her to play the violin and they often bond over classical music.

she was a political science major, then went on to study law. she now works in the human rights policy division in the government, but she wants to eventually move to more hands-on roles such as investigators. which is actually a bit of a downgrade for her position, but she really needs that field experience to further her career - particularly when she works with a bunch of dinosaurs that won't listen to her and because half the time she doesn't really know what she's talking about

the thing about her working in human rights is probably very funny to your muse, considering how much of a bitch she is. the thing is that she's great at giving speeches and blaming society for everybody's issues. deep down she does believe in her cause, her views are just. skewed slightly from all that pretty privilege lol

in case you're wondering by now: yes, she is a hypocrite.

she can be very impatient and stubborn, and set on her ways. you can talk sense into her and she's very open minded to change her opinion, she'll just. never apologize for being wrong. and might yell at you during the process so no one will fault you if you give up on teaching her tbh.

she is very intelligent and quick to pick up on things, and likes to play jigsaw with people and their connections. she will often introduce you to another member she thinks you can benefit from, mostly so that you can grow into whatever position she wants you to achieve. in turn, she will eventually ask something out of you to boost her own position.

leo baby, born 8/19/1996. youngest child and only girl of the generation, she was given everything she ever wanted except actual love and affection. [audience awws]

has been a thorn in her dad's side ever since she could walk and talk. it was cute when she was younger but he's way beyond over her frivolity and attention-seeking. wants her to just settle down and be a good little pawn already.

on the topic of attention-seeking: part acting out and part her just having a flair for the dramatic. she definitely dialed it up in her teen years but to be honest she just loves being fun, flirty, and young. being rich helps too. a lot.

her family owns & operates one of sk's biggest banking conglomerates. the nepotism is Strong: her father is a direct successor and holds an executive role; her brothers are both vice execs; even she's got a nice job and her own office! it'd be sick if she wasn't basically there to sit and be idle until someone was inclined to put a ring on it.

personality-wise, yeah she's pretty shallow and simple. she doesn't think it's a bad thing and would rather not apply herself if at all possible, thanks. has no concept of a master plan and doesn't assume anyone has one either; she's open, honest, easily trusting and willfully naïve. social butterfly with a face that never lies. you will always know what she's thinking and that's okay with her.

on the flip side: catty, flighty, easily bored by things and people. thrill seeking and refuses to acknowledge her inner turmoil (she's not into that kinda thrill). extremely fiery and strikes to hurt when she's hurt too. is, however, quick to apologize and means it.

2016-2019: absolutely her wildest era. full throttle on being her dad's worst nightmare. legitimately didn't care about king's club beyond doing the bare minimum. likely only showed up if she thought there would be drinks involved.

2024: absolutely in her clean girl era. also fucking hates it. hates how she can't wear flashy clothes to work and the dates her dad makes her go on. actually likes(?) her job because she's pretty good at it (who knew!) but it's not like anyone cares about that so why should she? genuinely i think she forgot about the club because Yawn.

some connects/ideas:

new friends during king's club! people who were allll about late nights spent not studying and the networking provided by the club. ambivalent towards if they stayed close or not (both are highly possible); if they lost touch, i would imagine they'd be surprised how outwardly different she is and how much of a farce her playing at being a grownup is. she can barely believe it herself.

people who dislike her because they think she's a bimbo which honestly fair. the clear nepotism involved with her entry into the club and laissez-faire attitude can rub people the wrong way. people who feel superior because she doesn't come across as particularly clever.

definitely down for her to fight over a man w/ someone - it doesn't have to be deep but she loves fast and hard and has a tendency to smother. any sane man would probably turn away into a girl who's less extra's arms.

the han's come from a line of noblemen, old money, people with positions of power

his father, for a long as wonbin can remember, has always been for and in the conservative political party. a real stickler for traditional ways, keeping the rich rich and the poor, well, working.

ruled his house in a very cutthroat way; you either wise up or shut the fuck up.

but that was exactly wonbin's problem. the black sheep, the sore thumb, he did everything different. he's a lover, not a fighter. too smart for his own good. listens too keenly. wears two faces. gets under your skin. gets you right where he wants you. his father doesn't trust a man who smiles a lot. wonbin gleams.

this divide between the han patriarch and the youngest son fostered a mean spirit inside wonbin, but don't worry, he keeps it under wraps. no one ever knows what he's truly thinking. he's charismatic, a friend to everyone and enemy to none. your mother would love him.

but only because she doesn't know him. really, he's an entitled, spoilt philanderer with a skewed view of how the world works and how it should work for him. maybe he's not so different from his father after all? but yeah he's known as the peasant king, and yeah, despite being in a right wing political party he feigns interest in the layman's life. but only because he wants to keep them there, where he thinks they belong.

it's not totally strange for him to get into the king's club. his father and his brothers had been through the same process although it was unbeknownst to him at the time. see, he thought he had something over them, thought that he might have been the better han. he doesn't know yet that he is all of the things his father simultaenously hates about himself and wishes he could be.

he's approached by the queen in 2013, son of a prolific politician and debate team hopeful, he's so full of promise. wonbin quickly manipulates her into vouching for him and helping him in getting the leg up on all of the rituals.

the kid is smart, he's got brains but they're not doing him any good. his weakness was women. his daddy issues meant that he sought validation in the eager eyes and the plush lips of a lover. it's almost like a drug, the way he craves someone to look at him and only him as if he put the stars in the sky. and when he's a chessmaster, he learns the perils of such hunger.

he cheats on his fiance. it's a paltry offence in his grand scheme of things but the fallout is divisive. he'll blame their differences, they were on the out for a long time, it was hardly love

but this is where he differs from his father. ever the lover, never the fighter he takes this set back like a punch to the chin. he tries on humility for size. dare he turn the other cheek.

he champions the underdog, he places them strategically on his chessboard. he coaches them to victory. he makes diamonds out of coal and maybe he loses himself in the process. his father stares at him every time he looks in the mirror and there's something so violent about his smile now.

2024, the ghosts are knocking at your door...

he follows his father's path, hot on his heels. he scrutinises him and all his shortcomings as he builds his own case. president han is a steadfast and vicious leader, his cabinet knows this well. but he is as only smart as tradition limits him and this is where he'll fail, wonbin thinks.

wonbin swears he's going to best him, don't you worry. for now he bides his time, and solidifies his seat at the table. he climbs his way up to deputy minister of health and welfare and soon the policies and laws that he takes part in implementing thrusts him into the public spotlight. with all these eyes on him, he stresses the need to be a man of the people, unlike his dear father. they all trust him, for now. but they do not know of the man behind the mask, they do not know of his greed.

he's a cutthroat ( capricorn sun ) onion-layered dude ( cancer moon ) that is a lot more than meets the eye ( scorpio rising )

the way the story goes, his father left his previous wife and kid when his mother was pregnant with him out of wedlock! his mother's ability to secure that ring at all cost saves seunghan from a life as the bastard son and he's forever indebted to his mother for it

the way his mother tells the story, she did it all so that she could give him a better life! loves his mother to bits because she always has his best interest in heart 💞 ok jokes up the real tea is that seunghan is so deeply under his mother's hold and is so blinded that he doesn't realise she's using him as a tool to guarantee her primary goal in life: to get rich and stay rich

it's a recurring theme in his bio, but whenever seunghan starts gaining personhood ( no he doesn't want to go to night school when he's still 7. yes he wants to be a professional swimmer because he loves to swim ) his mom pulls out some plot twist and/or guilt trips him back into remaining firmly under her control and in the end, he always concedes that he's in the wrong or hasn't been mindful of his poor 'bad good mother' and relinquishes said personhood

she pushes him very hard to be a stellar well-rounded student and the most obvious thing she uses to motivate him is the threat of his older half-brother gaining his father's love again and him and his mom being thrown out on the streets basically! of course, being robbed of his personhood + being threatened to lose everything he ever loved is the same energy as pinning all the world's debt onto one guy and killing him if that gives you a glimpse of the ungodly levels of raw, unadulterated hate he holds for his brother

but moving on because no one asked! all the hard work paid off and he eventually got into snu post-military service and became vice capt of the swim team thanks to his reputation and talent in that realm, also got scouted for the club!? tbh bro already knew about the club because his mother is basically obsessed with his older half-brother and wants seunghan to one up him in literally every aspect of life, so when she heard he was in the club naturally she told seunghan that if his older half-brother makes it in and he doesn't they might as well pack up for the streets

which means that seunghan took his initiate days very seriously! very girl you're killing it! girl it's not moving anymore! girl you can stop biting! type vibe so i'm sure some of the initiates thought he was weird but his introverted ass doesn't care and was happy to be amongst the like-minded people like his trio

then of course hyungseo dies 😩 honestly seunghan was really close to hyungseo and held a deep respect and care for the kid, so when he died, something died in seunghan that day too... genuinely has some significant survivor's guilt and he became a lot more brooding / less playful! also quit swimming which was his one release and frankly lost the motivation to continue with the club but his body was basically dragged through the rest of the year by his mom, so!

nothing overly exciting since, bro just stopped living and entered full 'tool' mode, mother asks him to jump and he'll say how high! once he graduated, he got into a pretty solid position in his father's company for an entry level ( thank you nepotism ) and fast tracked his way up! also picked up a part-time mba last year!

despite his father being relatively absent in his life, seunghan was again pretty gutted when he learnt of his father's diagnosis, but the pressure of what's to come ( i.e. the battle for inheritance which he's essentially been gearing up for his entire life and the reason why his mom he pushed himself as hard as she did was for this exact moment ) kind of took his mind off his father's diagnosis! but really this entire process as thrown him back to his days as an initiate which was one of the most brutal moments of his life ( also why does someone always have to be dying??? )

got promoted to director of corporate strategy after his mother tries to curry favour with his dad but yeah! now he's here! emotionally constipated and severely overworked, but he's here!

this might be long to you but this is one of the only intros where i tried really hard to be concise and wildly enough it is shorter than most so ! give me my cookie! anyway rah rah rah stop yapping onto the plots!

honestly i feel like a lot of the plots i want are pretty canon dependent but i would definitely love to explore 2019 more! what happened when they were chessmasters? maybe a friends turned to enemies plotline because you guys got a little too competitive and neither wanted to budge

i also feel like seunghan definitely could have dated one of the chessmasters sometime between 2017-2019! maybe just based on being club members, they fooled around then things got more serious but seunghan's mom is very present in his life and dating a mama's boy is fr diabolical work so things ended naturally or maybe even having seunghan's competitiveness and ruthlessness in 2019 becoming the last straw?

less related to the club and more related to just uni life but i'd love for someone to be on pretty alright terms with seunghan, probably you could respect his drive and competitiveness and even found it funny because you weren't really at the receiving end, but then maybe you're doing the same degree or signed up for the same role in the same club and shit went haywire? or even the opposite where you didn't really know each other in the club but steered clear of each other, but after being forced to work together somehow you realised that he's not a bad dude? like he's got a couple of layers to him that aren't too bad once you peel them away! bro can smile? who woulda thunk it!

or maybe you were part of the same friend group but you didn't vibe with him particularly not that you ever said it aloud? could even date back to high school and maybe you're annoyed that bro is in the club now even though most saw it coming! would also be fun if there's some secret sabotage going on!

seunghan's the type that keeps like 1-2 friends and everyone else is considered networking but i'd love for him to have a few friends he can actually drop his shoulders and relax around! seunghan might look very prickly and unapproachable at first glance, but he's actually a really loyal friend if you peel him back a little!

he hasn't kept in contact with many people other than his 1-2 friends since graduating but maybe! you're someone he can't shake for whatever reason? either through work relations or even because of something else entirely!

also if you ever disliked hyungseo and were kind of callous with his death best believe seunghan would have treated you like public enemy no 1 so anyone whose muse is of this sentiment please hmu

1993 - 2013

ok first: virgo sun cap moon libra rising, so... she's a judgemental money-grubbing bitch, but my god if she doesn't have good taste and isn't an efficient little worker.

tbh actually had like a p decent childhood by all accounts like financially her family did pretty good, def didn't struggle for anything and like life was p decent really i mean there are emotional problems up the ass in that family but financially? sitting p good comfortably middle class and sowon got most things she wanted

the issue is sowon is just never content with what she had in life, like sure her family was doing well but like she wanted more!! what's the crime in that!! like idk something about seeing a rich beautiful woman as a kid and a 10-year-old sowon fr went "that's what i want to be when i grow up"

and tbh u have to admire the single-handed determination of a smart girl who's been told she's pretty and feels like she's got nothing to lose and everything to gain. like girl fr studied her ass off for YEARS and tbh had little to no fun growing up just so that she could get into a sky university and fr make something of herself bc she simply thought she deserved a better life than the already good one she had

and the hard work pays off like she qualifies and gets a scholarship to one of the best high schools in korea and leverages that and her stellar grades there to get a scholarship into snu like she fr WORKED hard for it can't overstate it but like also hs was mad boring bc of it and to a degree does she regret not really having a lot of friends and never doing anything? a bit yeah but did she accomplish her goal yeah so the pay off is kinda there i guess.

anyways gets in and here's like an old classmate from hs (this could be a potential connection tho???) bragging about this king's club invitation they got and she's kinda like ???? bc she's never heard of it and once she gets the details she's like, damn i want in because i DESERVE it (her entitlement kinda goes crazy) and so she like fr is trying to figure out how tf she, a girl from no important family and no like financial backing to speak of, can secure an invite and like eventually black bishop 2013 who heard about her trying to secure a way in hits her up like "lmao if you sleep with me i'll make you my initiates" and like honestly the whole thing reflects just as badly if not worse on him but somehow sowon is the one who gets the bad rep bc yeah obvi she fucked the guy ok she wanted to get into the club she did what she had to!

anyways that's all anyone remembers, like she was actually a really strong initiate in the rituals and stuff but the story from now til the end of time is she slept with black bishop 2013 to get her invite and then slept with 2013 king to secure her spot which ok whatever she never ends up commenting on the rumors bc it's easier to let everyone believe what they want than constantly defend her actions and also at the end the day she beat out a bunch of entitled nepo babies to get her spot so fuck it, it was worth it

2016

ok so obvi becomes 2016 white bishop and honestly like old girl starting putting those kings club connections to work asap when she got in so atp she's the editor in chief for the school newspaper and has already secured herself an internship at sbs for second semester (bc who tf needs sleep and relaxation when it's time to hustle)

anyways tbh highkey not impressed with most of the intiates bc again she hates spoiled nepo babies and goes out of her way to invite people who are like her i.e. maybe not born rich but have the skills/talent and more importantly actually deserve to be there so good luck trying to win her approval i guess

and as for the boy of the hour tbh she didn't care for hyungseo, like sure he was talented and whatever but the kid was so arrogant and in her opinion highkey annoying so yeah she didn't like him if we're being honest

that being said def didn't think bro deserved to die and like as much as like a determined bitch she is like genuinely kinda shocked her how he died and how the club simply covered the whole thing up bc yo that's straight fucked but u know she still fell in line and did what the club said even if she thought morally it was fucked to just cover the whole thing up and act like nothing happened esp bc like it was an accident??? and like idk morally def kinda makes her question what she's doing bc like sure she wants money and power and to be apart of the uppercrust but like covering up some kid's death was never something she'd consider she'd have to do in order to achieve it.

2017 - 2024

you know what's so funny? the way she works hard to get where she is and breaks her back to earn everything she has and like ultimately when she gets to the real world she finds out that in korea it's still who you know and who your family is and also you need to be a man for this shit to truly work for you and she's got 1 out of 3 so it's really not so great

so she falls back on old tactics (ie sleeping with people when she has to in order to get further in life) and like trying to utliize king's club connections where applicable to help her move laterally in her company

and like u know miss girl still works hard gets herself a position as a sub anchor on sbs news like catch her weekday mornings delivering the news and that's well and good but she still wants MORE like she did not work this hard to end up this far

so the focus goes to like u know what let me secure a bag aka a rich man who's accomplished a lot so i can at least be the wife of someone important bc that's a form of respect of it's own

so you know on the prowl for a good marriage to secure her place in society and like secure the bank account she wants to have and like bro the way rich men are full of shit and mistresses/wives are so replaceable like securing one really is a job of it's own like literally there is no rest for the wicked this girl is always working on something

anyways eventually secures an engagement to a guy literally the same age as her dad which gross but he's a surgeon and hospital director and honestly does she still want a man of a higher position? yes absolutely, but also she is now 31 and it's downhill from here so like the old man might be as good as it gets for her which SAD! but it is what it is i guess

and that's all well and good until shit about hyungseo comes up again and like ngl partially she's very much scared bc imagine working hard as hell your whole life to potentially lose everything over a kid that died 8 years ago but also she's PISSED and ngl kinda blames a lot of the nepo babies of 2019 because maybe if the club had added more useful people like she said we wouldn't be in this dumbass position and she wouldn't be at risk of losing everything she worked so hard to get

but u know that's life when ur a social climber i guess
