[It’d surprised even her -- how the ceremony had gone without too many hitches, host-wise. The “faulty wiring” would be addressed at some time after, separately, and maybe no one would even catch on (har har). The three of them had impressed her massively, how comfortable they seemed onstage and in front of people, even if the jokes were made from nervousness and the dialogue was cheesy. They’d done so well; the idea had worked, and now people were able to enjoy themselves outside the barriers of an Elitist regime.
So, the man who bred the idea deserved some congratulations. It was a high risk, low reward chance he took, and it paid off. People seemed looser, freer, more in charge of where they went and how they behaved, even amongst themselves during the afterparty. Like they were all offered a furlough from the daily prison life inside the colony. It was wonderful -- beautiful, even. She counted herself lucky to have been proven wrong.
Approaching him after spotting his clean-pressed button-down from across the room, Andee kept her glass of wine cradled gently in the crook of two fingers, raptured by the smell of bodies and the sound of happy socialization.] Hey, maestro. [She settled a hand on his shoulder to get his attention.] Turns out a civilian-hosted event is about the brightest idea you could’ve had for this thing. The boys were brilliant.

THE COL22 2ND ANNUAL APPRECIATION AWARDS, WRAP OUT!
Wow. Congratulations everyone for a fantastic Christmas and New Years here at Colony 22 Roleplay! I’m so, so impressed by the amount of activity and plotting that has gone on over this past month, and so pleased that the event has been such a success! Thank you to everyone who has put energy into participating in the various ways that you all have, and for making every moment of hard work from the mod team feel truly worth it!
A huge thank you also to Amanda for her wonderful contribution with Elsa  Copland during the Ceremonies! Thank you for your generosity with your valuable pre-Christmas time, in helping Lottie and I make this event possible!
**THIS POST MARKS THE END OF THE AWARDS EVENT ON THE DASH; it also pushes the RP timeline forward to the 3rd week of December. **
As mentioned before, and as with previous events, this opens the dash up to new threads that occur after the event. That is to say, the (Sunday) morning after, or anytime that following week.
It also means that you may NOT write any new starters for the ceremonies or the reception, and all open starters from the event are now closed (pre-plotted, closed starters are fine to be replied to).
However, as always, you may—and are definitely encouraged—to continue all event threads you already have going during the event, so that you may follow through with them! The closing of this event does not necessarily mean we know everything that happened that night and how they unfold, but rather that you should now be focusing on continuing to explore the threads you have already started, and that you are also now permitted to start follow up threads when you’re ready!
Keep in mind also, that if you did not have the chance to participate in this event as much as you would have liked to, you are welcome to head canon anything you like about your characters during this time, and are even welcome to write self paras about it, if you wish, or incorporate details in the narration of your future threads! So you still have plenty of chances to play and expand!
I know a lot of these event threads may be going for some time, but this is part of the reason why we’re closing things up now. With having had the reception portion of this event open for two weeks, we feel we have given everyone ample time to get things started, and now it’s time to give ourselves the breathing room to see through with what we have, so that we can pursue more exciting plot drops and events in the future! And of course, we don’t want to overlap plots too much, so we will be merrily watching your threads unfold and will wait until things have started to settle a little before moving on to the next exciting chapter in the Colony’s timeline!
Finally, we encourage you to continue using the #preevent tag for threads that are still going from before the event—especially if you feel timeline clarity is important. It’s not a hard and fast rule, but it may certainly be helpful to yourself and other members as you give yourselves time to wrap any of those older threads up :)
Alright, that’s all from me for the moment! Thank again to everyone here for making this Christmas at the Colony so full of joy, excitement and love.
I know I speak for Lottie and I both when I say we could not possibly love this family more—and to the still-sorta-newbies who joined us in the past couple of months—welcome to the family, and may the beginning of 2019 be as lovely as the final few moments of 2018!
Much love,
xxPapa!Mod

COMMUNITY AWARDS: TEAM PLAYER AWARD
It’s actually going a lot better than Orson had expected. He has to hand it to Alex—the three of them do make a good unit… at the very least, they’re all pretty comfortable with each other, and though they all have varying degrees of enthusiasm, one thing they seem to have in common is a semi-sarcastic sense of humour. While Mouse’s is exuberant, in your face and Elsa’s is stoic, dry and charming, Orson’s is subdued, awkward and earnest—it all just kind of works. So far so good.
As Maddox and Clayton make their way off the stage and the applause subsides, Orson leans towards the mic again.
“Congratulations again Maddox and Clay. And speaking of—I’m meant to say a few words actually about the absence of a Delma representative up here tonight.” He pauses, grinning a little and casting his eyes down as the crowd mumbles lightly, some of it laughter. “Now, I’ve been told it was surely unintentional. That three just worked well as we have twelve awards in total, which is smoothly divisible by three, and we have three awards per category.” Another casual pause. “But I’ll be honest, I have a suspicion that the Delma candidates were simply the only ones who couldn’t be suckered into saying yes. Not exactly people pleasers, those Delmas.”
He grins gently. And it feels good when the crowd laughs, throws a few indecipherable comments up towards the stage. And as awkward and out of practice as he feels up here, there’s a vein of it that’s familiar. And that familiarity is sort of nice.
“Sorry, Kip, Clay. Corbin, Elly…” A grin, before he moves on. “Anyway, this next award will be the first of the Community Awards, and is the Team Player Award.” He looks to the cue card in front of him. “And the nominees are—”
Just then, the spotlight flickers overhead, then shifts four feet to the left. Orson pauses, looks over a bit confused, scanning the gazes of the audience awkwardly, waiting for it to come back….. But it doesn’t. He clears his throat, glances to the light booth at the back, but can hardly see well enough to make out the faces behind the glass. “Um…” He gently takes Elsa’s hand, removes the mic from the stand with his other, and with a glance at Mouse, they all shuffle over a few feet into the light.
“Sorry about that. The nominees are—”
The spotlight shoots back to the podium beside them. The room is quiet except for some amused muttering and… and the distinct sound of raucous laughter from the lighting booth in the back of the room. Definitely Pax. And… by the sounds of, at least one other person wreaking havoc along side him.
This time, Orson does catch a glimpse of Pax, who gives a quick salute and whisper-shouts an apology that doesn’t at all match the smug look on his face, before gesturing for Orson to continue. Orson chuckles, shaking his head, and with a sigh, he and Mouse guide Elsa back to the podium.
“Alright, quickly now before Pax can make us all look like fools again… the nominees are:
MASON QUINLEY
ELSA COPLAND
ZACHARIAH BASTIAANS And—oh. Well this is awkward—Um,
ORSON HURST
Well—all I can say is how incredibly appropriate I think it is that it’s us three up for a Team Player award… see, I told you—suckers, the whole lot of us.” He grins, then opens up the envelope slowly. He reads the card.
“As runner up, we have Zachariah Bastiaans from Torren House! And in first place is—is a tie, actually. Between Mous—er, Mason Quinley from Torren and Elsa Copland from Calyset! Congrats guys. Zach, come join us up here.”

COLONY 22′S 2ND ANNUAL APPRECIATION AWARDS
Oh, how much could change in a year.
Alex Donovan remembered last year, as disinclined as he’d been to agree to be one of the three hosts for the night, how he’d watched the frantic decorating committee’ and thought: well at least I’m not one of those unfortunate fools.
And this year, well—he was very nearly one of those unfortunate fools. He wouldn’t go so far as to say he was one of a ‘committee’, but he’d been helping bring out boxes to the decorating team all ever-loving day,  and several hours ago they’d begun asking his opinion on things and he’d declined to answer at first. But somehow, come 4pm, he’d found himself up to his neck in garlands and twinkle lights and about to be late for his afternoon training session.
When he walked into the auditorium after dinner (sporting black trousers, a white T-shirt and a deep blue blazer) he had to admit he was impressed. And maybe just a little proud. Because looking around, the room had truly been transformed. A lot of hard work and love had gone into it, clearly, and if nothing else, it would surely make Mitch beam. And Heaven bless that ever-optimistic, selfless man—he deserved at least that this season. It made any suffering on Alex’s part worth it, knowing the event was that much more likely to be the success that the original Calyset Head of House dreamed it would be.
What set this year apart from the last—aside from the Reformist-shaped elephant in the room—is that they’d gone full out traditional Christmas this year. Not wintery blues and silvers (a good thing, too, because it may have just been a throw back to the Modius’ Brink Tower reopening—not a failure by any means, but just a sore spot on the roof of the mouths of too many here), but instead, warm and boasting golds and reds and forest greens. Rich colours hung from the walls and pillars in thick tapestries and glowing lights. Ribbons and wreaths and candles sprinkled the room with a bursting festiveness, and not one, but three Christmas trees brightened up the room—even the damaged areas, rubble and broken seats simply became the contrasting foundation of effervescent decorations.
There was even mistletoe. In one or two surreptitious places, waiting patiently for unsuspecting victims.
Okay... so it did look a little like Christmas had thrown up all over the old theatre. But hell—if that was its worst flaw, they had nothing to complain about in their post-apocalyptic today.
People filtered in slowly, chatting and laughing and mingling about, making comments about their outfits, the decor... and Alex supposed that even those who thought the night a waste of time, at the very least, it couldn’t be said that it hadn’t already brought a certain atmosphere of light-hearted relief over the modest, island Colony. Even if just for a night.
At about a quarter after seven, the house lights faded in and out three times, a voice coming over the loud speaker to ask that people take their seats, as the ceremonies were about to start. Taking that as his queue (and Christ, he still couldn’t believe Mitch had asked him to do the opening speech this year—though somehow the fact that Alex had been convinced was less of a surprise, considering his track record with being unable to tell that man no, for just about anything) Alex politely excused himself from his conversation with Cambie, and threw Caelan a grin and a wink when he spotted him striding by with Isha and Clay. Left a smile and a light touch on Clayton’s elbow as they crossed each other’s paths.
And then he was trotting up stage steps, with people still settling into their seats. The lights dimmed, a spotlight panned over to him, and applause grew from the crowd. Chuckling, eyes cast down as he shook his head, he found his place at the podium:
“Good evening, Colony 22. I’d like to start off by saying thank you, to everyone who worked so hard to make this night happen—and that includes all of you who have participated just by being in attendance tonight. Truly, we appreciate it. Because it’s not just about the decorations or the preparation, the drinks or the snacks—though I’m sure the food and drink is the main reason most of you even bothered to show up,” he paused, grinning. “But it’s impossible to nurture a sense of community without all of you—the community. So thank you.” Another pause, and he pointed a wagging finger at Mitch in the second row. “And if nothing else, you can all go home knowing that you’ve put a shit-eating grin on that man’s face—which is apparently how I got suckered into opening tonight’s ceremonies. So while we’re at it, if any of you figure out how to say no to Mr. Douglas, please be sure to come by my office later and loop me in. Preferably before he asks me about doing this again next year.”
A warm, light chuckle from the audience, and with a smile, Alex continued. “Now, as you’re all aware, I’m not Mitch. I have no poetic to weave you about the trials and tribulations we face on a daily basis and how they bring us together in strength and unity. But that isn’t to say what he has said, and what this night now represents is not of value. In fact, I very much believe it to be true. In times such as these, in the face of change and conflict and rebellion, now more than ever it’s important to remember how we got this far. How we have survived, and how we continue to survive. Because we have not done it through selfishness, or greed. We have not accomplished as much as we have by functioning only as every person for themselves. We have gotten this far through cooperation and support. Through contribution and sacrifice, comfort and strength.
“I have been here next to three years now, and I have watched so many of you grow, and I am so proud of each and every one of you. What I think is too easy to forget in all of this, is that after what we’ve all faced, every day done is an accomplishment. Every day, we could choose to give up, to turn back, or throw in the towel. Rebuilding is hard. Starting over in the face of loss can feel impossible. So remember to take the time to recognize that.” He paused, threw a grin at the audience. “Well, look at that, I guess I did have some poetic to weave. Kindly blame Douglas for that too, would you?”
As the audience laughed again, Alex straightened, his tone lightening. “Alright, I’m not going to tell you too much about the awards themselves—I’ll leave that to our lovely hosts, whom I’m very excited to call to the stage and not just because then I can get the hell out of here. But before I do that, I’ll remind you that after the ceremonies there is a reception down at Catch 22, where they’ll be serving food and drinks, and I believe I heard a rumour or two about dancing and karaoke. For which I plan on making myself very scarce. But nevertheless, have an excellent time tonight, happy holidays, and congratulations on wrapping up another fantastic year.
“And now without further adieu—may I present your hosts for this evening: Orson Hurst, Elsa Copland and Mouse Quinley.”
A/N: AND SO IT BEGINS!!!
Well folks... Welcome to the last event of 2018! It has not just been a good year at Colony 22, but a spectacular one. I feel like we too, (much like our characters in verse,) have special cause for celebration—not only do we have our fifth year anniversary coming up, but this year has gifted us so many excellent, long-term members joining the family and exciting new plots, characters and development.
This event will punctuate the year with a bit of light hearted fun that we hope will lead nicely into an exciting 2019 at the Colony, which Lottie and I already have big plans for. We thank you all for being here, for your commitment, enthusiasm and love, and we hope you all stay with us here and continue to write and grow with us for a long time to come!
Now, most of the information you need about the Event Rules themselves I have already posted in detail and you can find here. Make sure you are familiar with them before starting, if you are new to events at the Colony. And if you’re not new, well, it never hurts to have a refresher!
A friendly reminder to send any questions you have about the event to the main blog ASK as we’d prefer to answer them publicly so the knowledge can be shared with everyone, as it’s likely that if you have a question, someone else may be wondering the same thing!
Remember too that this post marks the beginning of the first part of the evening: The Ceremonies only. You are welcome to RP anything that is leading up to the ceremonies, or during, but nothing past into the reception, until you see a post on the mod blog indicated the shift to the second part of the night, which won’t be until after (our real time) Christmas!
Over the next few days, you will see nomination and award reveals on the main blog, and as mentioned in the info post already posted (and linked above), you may continue old threads, or start new ones that are event related (self paras or graphics work too! Just remember that if you make any graphics in photoshop or anything send them to the graphics blog to be posted!)
Keep in mind that activity will still be monitored over Christmas. I still expect you to meet activity, and I still expect you to contact the main if you need an extension before I have to go chasing you down. The holidays are stressful enough—please do not send me on a wild goose chase. That said, I obviously get it: Holidays can be stressful and busy! So just let us know if you need an extension or hiatus!
I will do everything in my power to make sure all the awards are queued and posted promptly and when they’ve been promised—but if something comes up, things may shift a little here and there—nothing that should have too much of an effect though. The Reception will hopefully be triggered sometime between the 27th and 29th, depending on schedules.
Alright, I believe thats all I got for now! But happy holidays everyone, and enjoy! The first awards post will likely roll out here in a few hours!
Much love,
xxPapa!Mod

TRAINING AWARDS: MOST IMPROVED AWARD
So far, so good is right. Orson and Elsa are both stringing words together in the right order, and Mouse hasn’t hung himself with the ruddy tie he’d decided to wear to this thing. Orson even made a real joke—more than one. And Elsa’s adorable, no surprise there—though he does try to sink into the stage and disappear with embarrassment when she pulls up short on his real name. Forgot she didn’t know about that. Mouse’s kind of eager for it to be his turn back at the mic honestly, because the alternative is focusing on the audience—and the fluctuating mess of emotions emanating from them. Thankfully, mostly positive. Still, he loosens the noose around his neck as Elsa steps back, moving up to do his part.
“Alright, you lot. Next up, kinda says it all in the name—the Most Impr—” His voice abruptly stops echoing, and Mouse pauses. “The most improved. Most improved?” He taps the mic once, then again. Then glares over at the sound booth, leans forward, and raises his voice. “Time for the most BLOODY IMPROVED AWARD.” He cringes, volume having returned to normal mid-sentence, at of course, the worst possible time. Flipping the bird at Pax, he coughs. “Er, sorry, everyone. Appears we got some technical fuck-ups goin’ on.”
He tugs off his tie completely and then, much more calm, announces the nominees.
LAKE VALENTINE
DERORA SPECKTER
MADDOX XIAO and
CLAYTON BOYD
Mouse shrugs at the names. “But really, good on this bunch for improvin’ on perfection.” He says it with a straight face, but then grins, finding secondhand-embarrassed faces in the audience. “What? I’m not allowed to compliment the nominees? Anyway…”
He flicks open the envelope. “The runner up is—Delma House’s Clayton Boyd! Well done, mate. And in first place—fuck yeah, he did—it’s Maddox Xiao of Torren House! Come on up.” Possibly, Mouse is enjoying this more than he expected to, as he tackles Maddox in a bear hug the minute he’s onstage.

COMMUNITY AWARDS: HELPING HAND AWARD
Well, he’s going to murder Pax the minute he’s off this stage, that’s for damn sure. It’s one thing to pull that crap on Mouse, another entirely to mess with Orson and Elsa. Still, they’re trying to shrug it off, so Mouse keeps himself from glaring daggers at the tech booth. Just barely. Though he has to grin at Allie and Lake as they shuffle onto the stage, and it reminds him that they do deserve it. Alex may have tricked him into hosting, but there’s worse things than letting his friends know they’re making a difference around here.
“Next up—Helpin’ Hand award... which it says here is ‘recognizin’ citizens who go above and beyond in their contribution to the Colony’,” he quotes. Then he coos down at the card. “That’s nice, ain’t it? The nominees for bein’ an extra helpful person an’ not generally a pain in the arse are...”
ANDREYA ROCHE
MARIYA DELLA FAILLE D’HUYSSE
PERSEPHONE EVANS and
ZACHARIAH BASTIAANS
“Uh, sorry for butcherin’ your name, Mariya. Er. Zach, too. You both should consider namin’ yourselves after household pests maybe, hear that’s the cool thing to do.” Mouse darts a glance at Elsa, sending her a flash of warm amusement.
“The runner up is... Torren’s Zach Bastiaans! And in first place—Andee Roche, from Brink! Give ‘em a hand, folks—hey, that’s what this one’s all about. Free joke, brilliant.” The groans from the audience seem to disagree, but Mouse is pleased with himself anyway as he steps back and makes room for Orson again.

After the event ends will we be allowed to reply to para and chats that began during it?
Hi love!
Yes, you will be able to continue all threads that you’ve already started that began during the event. I’m sure some will take you a while to finish! But you will not be able to start any new threads that take place the night of the event, as the timeline will officially be pushed to the next day and all of the following week (3rd week of December)—which is why I thought I’d give you guys a few days notice!
This includes open event starters—if there any starters that are already posted that you want to reply to, be sure to do that before the event closes. Similarly, if you want to start any threads, be sure to get on that in the next few days!
My prediction is that I will post the closing notice Sunday night. I’ll let you know if this changes for any reason! And if anyone is desperate for more time for whatever reason, please chat with the mods about it :)
Cheers!

↬ Col22 Annual Appreciation Awards: The Reception ↫
The decorations in the Colony’s Catch 22 are purposely less lush than the exuberance that was found in the auditorium for the ceremonies. Oh, there’s still a ton of holiday themed paraphernalia: wreaths and garlands, colourful twinkly lights and, yup, there’s that mistletoe again...  but there are no ostentatious draperies, and only one Christmas tree in the corner. Much more digestible.
The evening is designed to be a real celebration. Alright, let’s say it: a party. But after a long year of hard work and difficult change, this is something that even Alex sees as good for morale. The awards are the first part of it—acknowledgement for their commitment, for their rigorous training and for the progress they’ve made. And this... well, this is the second part. The part where people might laugh and dance and forget about the reality of things, if even for a little while.
Because the truth is, this is the new reality. This isn’t the apocalypse anymore—it’s post-apocalypse. As much fear and horror and strain and loss still fill their world on a day to day basis, and as much as the fight is a long ways from over—this, here and now, is the new world, and they have to live in it. Because as soon as they forget the simpler, human joys of life, the easier it will be to lose motivation entirely. “Those who fight together, thrive together”: the Colony 22 Games motto since the day of its rise. But there has to be something worth fighting for. Something to inspire a reason to survive.
Alex, despite his reclusive nature, despite his tendency to put work first and friendship second, knows that the only thing keeping these citizens alive now, with all the fear and oppression and prejudice clouding over their heads, is love. Pure and simple. God knows he’ll never say it out loud, but he knows it to be true, nonetheless. The friendships and loyalties built within these walls over the past five years have become a reason for people to push forward. A foundation on which to nurture their passion, ambition and drive.
And so, despite the fact that Alex is still intending to make himself scarce within the hour, once the general public are a couple drinks and some pour soul’s taking the first stab at the Karaoke machine—he is pleased by what he finds when he first walks in. Pleased to see colony company slowly filing in—some of them having dressed down for the reception, others still sporting their refurbished prom dresses and ties.
Even some of the NWRF shuffle in awkwardly looking in desperate need of a drink. Which, as far as Alex is concerned, is perfectly fair. Perhaps even they are doomed to have a good time tonight, as the night presses on and their glasses are refilled. And perhaps, Alex will even stay a little longer than planned. Perhaps.
CHECK OUT FULL EVENT DETAILS AND SUMMARY UNDER THE READ MORE!
Good Evening and Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to the Second Portion of the Colony’s 6th, non-games Event!
THIS POST OFFICIALLY TRIGGERS PART TWO OF THE AWARDS EVENT: THE RECEPTION AT CATCH22!
                       ↬ EVENT DETAILS & SUMMARY ↫
General Geography
Much like so many other physical spaces in the Colony, we’ve always left it specific enough to work with, but vague enough to leave you free to work your imaginations. However, since so many of us will be threading here all at once, we figured it might be a good idea to give you a sense of the space.
So, the front of the Catch has a small covered patio attached—no tables or anything, just a wooden awning with pillars, two steps up from the ground—some people will smoke out here.
When you walk in through the front double doors, the bar is forward and to the left side of the room. Directly centre of the room is most of the tables and chairs for the seating area. These are old wooden chairs and tables, kind of rustic. The WCs are past the bar, on the left, down a little alcove. In the back of the room, beyond the tables, there is a small stage that used to be used for bands/performances etc. It is rarely used as such anymore, and is currently more or less grouped in with the dance floor, which is just in front of the stage. Tonight, however, the stage may have a use or two... more on that later :)
Also for the purposes of the evening, there will be a couple of long tables set up on the right side of the room (opposite side of the seating area from the bar) where all the food will be dropped off. This will be a help-yourself sort of set up, with casual finger-food people can pick at over the course of the evening. More on this below!
Food and Drink
So, like with the Brink Reopening, there is finger food available, all of which is being prepared up in the kitchens from the main building. There are volunteers cooking and bringing food down in through the back of the Catch, but it is not catered in the same way as the “classy” Brink Reopening was. The food is casual, pub-style appies, and is not brought around on platters, but rather set up on tables with napkins and small plates (plastic ones! because there’s no Party Central stores in the apocalypse and they can’t afford paper plates, ya’ll, so put ‘em in the dirty dish bin at the end of the table, okay? Just as the heartfelt handwritten sign on the wall so politely and firmly requests!)
Food assortment includes the following:
Chicken and Veggie Sliders
Chicken Wings (Hot, BBQ and Salt&Pepper)
House Cut French Fries
Fish Tacos
Veggies & Dip
Chips and Salsa
Drinks will be served at the bar, (Xavier Crane is one of the usual bartenders for the evening, along with some other regular Catch staff. Mitch Douglas will also be seen back there some of the time, because he’s very much a hands-on kind of volunteer). All the usual drinks one might find on a regular night will be available, so not the same restrictions as at the Brink Opening, but drink tickets have again been handed out to citizens over the age of 18. These were passed out in little envelopes before leaving the ceremony (so anyone who decided to skip the ceremonies wouldn’t have gotten theirs!!) and the number of tickets is determined by security class again, which are as follows:
Elites & Class 1: Three free tickets
Class 2: Two free tickets
Class 3: One free ticket
If citizens would like to purchase more drinks with their credits, they can obviously do so as per usual, but standard drink limits still apply, and free drinks count towards those limits.
Music, Dancing & Entertainment
Unlike the Bonfire, no one is particularly DJing this event, but Tate Rothchild has volunteered to run the music, and she’ll be taking requests. The dance floor will be open most of the evening, but there will be Karaoke between 9pm and 10pm which Crane will be running (quite enthusiastically, we might add) at which point the bar will be run by other staff.
After Karaoke, dancing and music will continue until close, at 0130. Last call for drinks will be at 1am.
Maisie Pace will also be wandering around taking official photos for the evening, so citizens should keep an eye out for her if they want some taken with their friends in front of the Christmas tree! And remember: there’s mistletoe surreptitiously hung about the bar—will anyone be caught under it, I wonder? Perhaps Miss Pace will be quick enough to snap a shot of that too... she is an excellent fly on the wall, after all.
Photos taken at the event will be made available on Echo in the following weeks.
                   ↬ EVENT ROLEPLAYING GUIDELINES↫
The same guidelines apply as with all our events, and with ceremonies. Here is a summary/reminder!
As of now, you may NOT post any NEW threads that are not affiliated with the RECEPTION portion of the event. The new timeline of the RP is currently AFTER the ceremonies. So you have free reign of anything between the ceremonies ending and people milling about, or going back to their dorms to change, or heading down to the Catch, or anything throughout the night of the party at the Catch, until it closes. However, If your character does not attend the reception, they could be elsewhere in the colony at this time. Basically, you are free to RP your character anytime between 8pm (when the awards ended) and 2am, which would be just after the Catch closes.
You MAY continue old threads you have going, both pre event, or from the ceremony. All we ask is that you start tagging non-event threads with #preevent so we know they are earlier in the timeline.  On going, ceremony threads do not need to be tagged this way, as they are still part of the event overall.
All new event threads being posted must be TITLED and tagged as such, indicating that they are Event threads.  (In this case, key words like “Awards” or “Event” or “Reception” or even “After Party” is encouraged. How you go about this is up to you though!
You MAY post photos of your character’s clothing/outfits, etc, if you wish. You are by no means obligated to do so.
Please TAG your event starters with the regular starter tag (#col22starter), AS WELL AS #col22awards.
The event will continue until the mods post an official closing notice. It will likely last about week, maybe more, depending on member activity. We want to give enough time for people to get a good start on threads and plotting, before wrapping it up. Obviously people will be able to continue on going threads after the event closes, but still, we’ll be keeping an eye on the dash and who’s had a chance to participate! We don’t want to have it going too long, but always endeavour to make sure everyone gets a chance to get involved!
Alright, I think that’s all I got for now folks! As always, come to us with any questions you might have! And we’d appreciate if you bring them to the main blog Ask so that we can share event related questions with everyone!
Also, just so everyone knows, the tag the mod blog is using for this event is col22awards2—so you can track it if you want! But this is a mod only tag, so please just use col22awards for your own stuff! It’s just simpler, and that way the tag remains uncluttered for admin stuff in case anyone wants to track it! Thanks!
Very much looking forward to this portion of the event! Can’t wait to see what you guys bring to it and all the fun chaos on the dash!
Okay, have fun ya’ll and Happy New Year!!

LEADERSHIP AWARDS: LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE AWARD
So far she’s done a lot better than she expected. No um's and uh's, freeze-ups or blanking in terror—but this next award stirs an uneasy flutter in her chest. An Elite award means, well, Elites. And more than likely at least a few NWRF, whose emotions tend to make her flustered—which is definitely not ideal right now.
“The next awr—award is for Leadership Excellence, acknowledging Elites who show exemplary leadership, initiative and influence. And the Nominees are:
ALEX DONOVAN
DANTE CARRINGTON and
MEKHAI KNIGHT
Elsa taps the screen of her echo device but it’s unresponsive. She taps it again—the names of the nominees repeat again in her ear. She taps a third and fourth time, the same thing happens.
“Uh, let’s give them a big hand before I announce the final winner,” she offers to try her best to remain calm or at the very least, appear enthusiastic. Her chest tightens as she quickly tries to fix the device. As the crowd settles, much faster than she would've liked, she quickly reloads the program and skips through to the Leadership Excellence award. Then she finally finds it and the winner repeats in her ear.
“The runner up of the Leadership Excellence awards is Dante Carrington, of Brink House. And Finally, in first place, is—Alexander Donovan of Calyset.” Elsa joins the applause, as they come up stage and congratulates them individually as they receive their awards.

PRECISION AWARDS: MARKSMANSHIP AWARD
Kay, much as he’d like to, he can’t be angry at Pax and Corbin for taking advantage of the equipment this time. As the song dies out, and he watches Elsa give out the award—good God, if only the NWRF knew that this was turning into a celebration of the most raucous and disruptive, right under their noses--- he readies himself for the next award.
“This one’s gotta be one of my personal favourites. Marksmanship Award, AKA outstandin’ performance in long-range huntin’ and shootin’. And the badasses—pardon, nominees—are:
CORBIN EALY—”
Mouse sends a warning look at the sound booth, but after a silent minute and gradual snickers from the audience, nothing happens. They’ve probably worn themselves out—though Mouse can guess other reasons for the pause in mayhem, and he clears his throat uncomfortably. “Right, just checkin’. Continuin’ on…
ISSORIA FEINBERG
MINK and
KAISER BAHR
“Well, that’s an intimidatin’ lot.” He nods and salutes the audience. “Mind your manners in Torren, apparently.” Like anyone does, or ever will.
He opens the envelope with extra drama this time. “The runner up for Marksmanship is... let’s get a drumroll. Why not?” His request is met with a slow crescendo of fingers on arm rests and feet on the floor, until he cuts it off with a wave, chuckling delightedly. He really could get used to this hosting thing.
“Runner up: Isha Feinberg! Brink House! And the winner is—Delma’s Corbin Ealy!” He grins at the sound booth. “Get back up here, mate!”
