Recently I’ve been able to design covers using hand lettering, and in this case I took it a step further by incorporating materials that conceptually correspond to the narrative and subject matter of the story. To create this, I rolled out a thin layer of powdered graphite onto clear acetate and then wrote the title with a blunt paintbrush. I am also seduced by the transitory nature of this project. The impermanence of this piece perfectly aligns with the story.
