Cowede hundred line adventure update! Finished the entirety of the Slasher route, which really shall be the horror route! And just like kako when you offer her detective stuff, I LOVED IT! (i really like this voiceline of her, i hope theres gonna be a route focusing on detective kako) (my chronogical order of play : Coming of age -> takumi cult -> 001 -> V'ehxness -> Retsnom -> Reset -> Slasher) I think that if its the first route you do after route 0 you'll hate slasher, it feels super disconected. but I loved it, and all the homages to the genre. (spoilers underneath)

I think i legitmately never hated any parasitic race more than the G'ie right now, especially as they're shown to have a consciousness, of course you can argue "they just want to live" but those fuckers are SADISTIC! I reaaaaally liked the fact that this route (the only one so far i played, maybe not the only one) was composed of sub section that all felt like their own mini routes. being here the slasher route and the "zombie flick" route, who separated into the "true slasher" route in which people get picked up 1 by 1 and theres a mystery as to who the killer is, the "Nozomi final girl" route in which you play as nozomi for a bit and queen SLAYS (every woman slay in this game) and its the most "positive" (albeit the missiles will happen but fuck it lets say they live somehow) and then for the zombie flick, the pure zombie flick in which the mystery is revealed and people get zombified one by one, with the reveal that the G' ie is actually way more inteligent than a simple worm, and knows it must possess takumi to infest him (or more like data infest him) in the pasttttt, and the "dread route" which either ends with the ultimate bad end and "win" for the g'ie or alternatively kurara being a SLAYERRRR dont mess with rich girl whos scared and was showned a bit of compassion (and who has a saw) as well as the reveal that the zombies are partially conscious, and programed by the g' ie to like eaiting and killing their friends, its very disturbing. of course female carrier G' ie being the big evil behind this route, all thanks to a #GakuMoment (and darumi, but gaku had a lot of ... gaku moments this route) and I seriously think its gonna come back in other routes, after all, takumi got data infected just after killing eito, so i dont think its the last time we'll hear about the g' ie, also did the visitors cured him in the zombie flick part ? who are theyyyyyyyyyyyy Whats their relation to the g' ie !!! are they g 'ie possessed too, or maybe more. Another reason i think those damn parasite will be seen elsewhere is hiruko knowing about them, as where she died way too early in the zombie flick to know about them. also shes a looper (or more like, loop conscient) so it has to come back! My only "issue" is a really luck based one, my very first subroute and ending was the ending in which the actual full murderer is revealed, and while we guessed (the game is generous with hints) it was takumi, we couldnt have expected a parasite, and having done the whole route, i think the writers expected us to do the zombie flick part first, as it would have feel more "the pieces slowly fall in place" like yugamu being not the actual killer but in for the thrills, or the g 'ie parasited takumi reveal, but it still worked that way! I'm so hype to see the rest, albeit i think i'll tackle on a route where we spare eito next, as With such a dramatic gory and deadly route, i need a bit of a fun one, and I think theres a high chance the comedy and romance routes are locked behind not telling the others the truth about being a time traveler after sparing eito. (and also cos i dont want to do a darumi n kyoshika dead route again that soon). Also it caused my tierlist to update! i dunno if thers people following this adventure report as i post it, (check the cowede talks about hundred line!) tag to see the other post about it. but several character will go up! takemaru goes to the highest tier because i simply cant stop loving the guy, bro, and will def bombard my good friend (nsfw writting, minors shoo! dont go there (or on my blog) ) @plaindangan with asks of him (and most of the characters of this game) also i dont expect the game to give us a takemaru focus story so i apreciate those moments even more I'll also move kurara up a tier because i liked a lot of her during the zombie flick, and also once again, badass rich girl with a sawwwww. gaku also gets its own tier, "#GakuMoment" And i'll move hiruko to the highest tier too because the reveal shes a looper is fucking epic and its hiruko

Today’s was… well it wasn’t "adviced" by @plaindangan , more like, I found a bunch of ecchi shows and send the plot and op to plain and ask them to choose one for me to watch and they choose that one.

Anime : 1 season (for now?) 12 episodes.

The plot is pretty simple at face value : alto is a young capable mage at a great mage school, who has the dream of becoming a platinum rank mage, there’s one issue though, while he is far from bad, he cannot for the love of god summon any familliar, and he needs one to pass to 2nd year or else he’ll have to redo his 1st year, as familiars is a core of mage’s abilities.

He ends up founding a book that could help with a summon, and by drawing a circle he inadvertently liberate a powerfull ancient (naked) demon lady inside, Vermeil! As a reward for liberating her she allows him to give her 1 directive (and of course she’s veeeery lewd about it) and alto decide… to ask her to be his familliar! And vermeil (even if she could theorically break the contract cos spoiler she’s hecka strong) decides… hey why not~? Alto’s cute plus his mana tastes YUMMY~

And that’s basically it without spoiler (because surprisingly for such a story the plot thickens, and is not half bad)

The main strength of the series is definitely the relation between alto and vermeil, not only do both character grow quite a bit literaly every episode, but their relation and love blooms very naturally and at a satisfying pace. Obviously this leads to a lot of ecchi boobi and smooches scenes, which are cool and while sometime they break a bit the rythm, they’re not super long and aren’t too cringy, plus while the base plot scream "alto is going to be a self insert" he ends up not being, having his own personality and relations to others, He’s a bit bland, but I’ve seen WAY worse.

The other main point thats quality is the secondary cast, while some of them (goat Marx) are a bit pushed to the side a vast majority of them are quite likeable and while tropy still give some energy, the dub is overall quite good too.

As for the plot ? Well I don’t really want to spoil stuff but it’s good. Actually ? Pretty effin good, several times the story surprised me by going ways that aren’t stall and not necessirally expected. Like vermeil’s evolution as a character, or the episode 6 huge plot moments.

The art is also pretty good, while a bit stiff and don’t expect tons of sakuga or eye candy, it still gives a vibe unique enough to not feel too generic, cool character designs too.

The ending and opening are VERY good Imo not necessarily the visuals but the songs are dope.

Sadly not everything can be good. And in this series there’s 2 negative points that must be brought.

The 1st is more of a personal issue, but yeah it’s a power fantasy. Meaning that alto is quite strong from the get go and vermeil is OP. Honestly the only reason they struggle most of the time is because they don’t make out (which yes makes them stronger) and use big magic frame one. It wouldn’t be an issue if the fights were good but alas.

2) the fights and power system is very bad. And sadly there’s lots of them, cos it’s still a shonen (even if mainly romance). To put it simply magic is ultra basic, every character get 1 spell that they spam and that’s it, there’s not even named attack. The other half of the power system is the whole summoning thing, basically every mage as a familliar and that’s the core of their magic. Except the familiar have cool designs BUT are even more monotonic than the usual magic. They just do 1 thing again and again and that’s it. It feels like a total waste.

Also vermeil one shots almost everyone without really sweating when she’s trying. During a fight early on against dragon lovin lady vermeil and alto do a nice combo for the finish, but outside from that ? The fights are a drag.

But while the fights are drags, the antagonist are ranged and enjoyable too.

While the tone and plot is different it did remind me a lot of "iruma kun demon school" mainly about how the show should by how definition be a slob made with no creativity and ultra generic for isekai/fantasy power fantasy lovers, but both end up very good because the author cared about the characters and made them good.

So yeah. For that one it’s very important you go watch it wanting romance, character relations, basic but efficient plot, or "plot" if it’s what you search for ? You’ll have a great time, I started solely for the vermeil tiddies but kept going for the surprisngly good everything else (and vermeil tiddies)

But if you actively search for a good power fantasy action ? Pass.

But personally I advice it!

A bit late, but one more update (lots today!) for the Cowede and Plain hundred line adventure!

Now reached 39 (I think ?) endings, and completed the eerie, slightly off at the start, extremely fun in the middle, and very bizzare but good in the late part "Causal" route (also the fact we’ve done 13 routes and only have 39 endings. The uchikoshi written routes must be full of them because I can’t imagine the game having more than 25 routes (which is still massive!)

It was… ok + ? Good but just good. I really didn’t click the start, I liked the eerie vibe but the milk quest and especially the sock mystery where… well they were suposed to be boring and casual, and they felt boring and casual, but a bit too much. But the comedy genius (and yessss even if it’s just for comedy, an arc with takemaru as the core of it is instantly peakkkk (Eva was a legend in it too)) and I liked the end parts and the 2 endings. Especially the increasingly bizarre "Cage of Comfort" part. Still I think along with v’ehxness route it’s my least favorite route so far (they’re both still good, great at times, but they suffer the same "Man I wish I got more from it" )

So! What to say, matrix ref go brrrr… the poker arc was VERY fun, and it’s legit I think since ima sirei i hadn’t laughed like that in this game (not that the routes we did didn’t have great comedic moments, but this whole arc is next level. I dunno it was so absurd and silly, I imagined it animated with over the top animations and it worked very well. Also Eva saying "love and peace, BFF yay!")

The eerie tone was well done, especially with the eito and takumi discussion flirting with 4th wall breaking and (might be tweaking here) allegory of the cave (Plato) and I really like the cycle around the milk. And having others talk about how takumi acted while they were in reality. Seeing nozomi trying to understand him, I also like sirei assuming his mistakes and being remorseful once he knows the mission can’t succeed anymore. I didn’t mention it yet, but sirei makes for a great antag who isn’t really an antag. He is literaly a ia with one goal that will do everything to succeed that goal. But at the same time, it’s conscient of what it does, he won’t ever betray his programming, or turn rogue, and he is ready to be a monster and can be cruel. But he also has developed a will inside. And respect at least the team enough to know that if the mission is kaput, they deserve the best ending they can get. He doesn’t throw them away (also really like his relation to shion)

Both the endings were surprisingly satisfying, and not entirely bitter. + matrix ref is always based.

I wonder if I’m tweaking or if the CG in the "Embrace Fantasy" (24) ending is meant to be a bit of a ref to the last supper, it would make sense thematic wise, as it’s also takumi’s last supper, with the milk coming back at the center. And his death parodying, he will leave a dream, a long last supper before death.

While I like that ending (23) "Face Feality" actually give a bit of a moment for nozomi to realize and apreciate that takumi has resurfaced, and is back, it’s him. She dies yes, but with the relief that her friend (or more) came back to reality. Takumi fighting and then dying a bit after, accepting his death, just make sense. In a way it kinda parallels (albeit very differently) the very first ending I got, ending 46 of the coming of age route,… well it’s just that nozomi dies, and takumi goes to his death, ending 46 is much sadder and depressive, with takumi giving up (you can’t win them all after all) and letting vehx kill him, because he can’t live with nozomi’s death.

It’s time for the update on Cowede’s (and @plaindangan (both of us are nsfw blogs, so minors do NOT go there. ) Hundred line adventure~!

(As a reminder our order of play is as follows (we finish routes entirely when getting an ending from it))

And while the route we’re on isn’t quite finished, we can add the Romance route! (Only one "chapter" left to tackle!)

It’s obviously very focus on introspection and characters, not plot, and I like it! The wholesomeness, funny shenanigans, non takumi cult type Fanservice, and the bit of drama are very fresh after so many theme heavy routes~

It’s very hard to rank, but it’s very enjoyable! And moko is so BASED in it (kurara and kyoshika got even better!)

Spoilers underneath for the "serious" part of the route, which you should experience yourself! It’s really interesting so don’t get spoiled! (Oh and also I’ll have a tiny bit of a complaint. 2 actually)

(Also kind of spoilers for 2nd scenario / 001 and the nozomi/kurara nature, so I insist, don’t click if you haven’t reached that truth)

Ill tackle on romance in this game, then on a separated post I’ll tackle what happened in the "before the romance route" part (so what happens when you spare eito and don’t tell that takumi is a time traveler) as well as an actual real disappointment I have with the game (but I can’t really blame it for)

First of, the kurara and kyoshika romances were very cute! I love that each takumi / girl romance (we don’t mention the cult, it’s not really romance) serves to humanize and deepen the female characters, adding layers, and I really like that with the game mentality of "there’s no true ending, it’s the one you want who is" all of the takumi romance feel as canon as each other (even if so far theres 2 Clearly more important ones, the nozomi (well, more like karua, my girl is getting cucked by the whole cast AND the imaginary version of herself. She just can’t get her taku!) and hiruko romances) (Also I wonder if moko and Eva will get their taku romance. (Kako I think it’s better if it stays a crush in coming of age and nothing more due to the age difference))

My only real issue while I’m on the subject of romance is that while the girls are open bar, the boys have very few possible romance with taku (once again outside of the cult) so far.

Like, there’s eito, who’s way better than like, a nagito type romance, notably due to the fact that the game acknowledges it as love, where as nagito’s main issue romantically was that (sorry fujos, keep liking what you like) he’s clearly more in love with the hope and Idea of what hajime is in his head (an ultimate) than him himself. Where as eito assumes it as… well still hatred and disgust, but also love at the same time in several endings. And I guess yugamu "flirts" with taku but outside of that…? Let me romance takemaru for f sakeeee gameeee. You accept boy love, so let me have moreeeee

Also while on it while I really like how the several romances of takumi are written and he doesn’t feel too much like a bland protag for self insert shipping, each romance serving mostly to develop a side of the character partnered with him. (and I apreciate the game not shoving the harem of all the girls are in love with takumi at the same time and compete for his attention) (romance route technically is that, but way more civil, polite, and like, pretty unserious) I do have 1 bit of an issue is that the non takumi features romance or hints of romance feel a bit… empty ?

Like having started with the coming of age route, and really liking the dynamic of tiger x tiger of hiruko and takemaru, I’ve been kinda disapointed by it.. never being mentioned in any other route (so far) same applies for Shion/FB x tsubasa. (I think they’re very very cute together)

The only other mention of a non takumi romance I saw so far in my routes was like, the half joke (cos eito was pretending) eito X moko, and the 1 way Gaku X tsubasa in the zombie portion of the slasher route. Oh and the whole Eva X shouma thing, even if it’s probably 1 sided (if we ever even get to meet non brainwashed Eva and she doesn’t die imediately.)

I Dunno it’s like, we’re getting juuuust the amount of tease to be frustrated.

Then again complaining about this game "not having enough content" feels very stupid. And we’re just at 25 endings, who knows what could happen!

We ain’t at shuchiin, here love is not war, war is war, and war SUCKS for everyone in it. That’s the main message of the game.
