So you think you can Drag(on)?

Drag is a passion of mine and I decided it’s about time to put the drag in dragon! Starting this month I will be hosting a mini drag race with the help of my lovely queens, Miss Sornieth 2022 Midnight Delite, Miss Beastclans 2022 Tequila Sunrise, and Miss Oculus of the Eleven Donatella!

How do you enter?

You can submit up to 2 dragons dressed in their Crystalline Gala best! You must both own the dragons and the apparel/skin/accents used. Then, add a little bit about your dragon! Their drag name, talents, whatever you fancy! We love to learn about our performers, and all drag artistry is welcomed! You can tag me (transtundras-fr) and add the hashtag #MissCrystalineGala2023 ! The public entries will last until 12pm CST Thursday January 26th, after which they will close and no further entries will be accepted. Our queens will select each 1 dragon they think deserves to win, and will be voted on in a public 3 way vote! The dragon with the highest votes will be crowned Miss Crystalline Gala at the end of the holiday and gain an automatic entry to the Miss Sornieth race in December!

Prizes!!!!

The winning queen will receive 1 Pride Vista of their choice, 1 unhatched egg, 1 frigid crown, and 1 art piece drawn by me!

The two runner ups will each receive an unhatched dragon egg!

I remedied that today by buying another Ice Creechur(TM). His name is Espen. <3 (Bottom right!)

Happy Crystalline Gala!

It's been a hot minute since we've had a proper festival! Here are my thoughts:

Familiar

Pleased but not surprised they went with snowdrops, haha. It's very simple but clean and nice to look at. I think it's a ball python? Not entirely sure.

Apparel

It's small and simple, but I love the tiny bits of red against the dark blues. I'm already thinking of outfits this would go with. I quite like it!

Gene

I thought it would be something like icicles, but I certainly wasn't expecting this many lmao. I like how it's a little transparent, but seeing how colors compare with it is a little tricky. Try White vs Ice vs Orca, and you'll see what I mean. I have this matched with Periwinkle, but I'm sure you could match any of the light blues with Ice Primal. I'd like to do some pairs with this, but at the moment I can't picture anything other than ice pairs. I'll have to mess around with this for sure.

Joxar Recolor

These recolors keep getting better and better. This one is just so much better than the original, and nothing can change my mind. The contrast of the fiery wool and the deep red skin and horns- excellent. The stuff of art.

Favorite skin - Eyesee

First of all, great pun of a name. Second of all, look at the detail! The chains, the patterns, the eyes- I think this skin represents Ice lore super well, balancing the prisons and the Shade. I love it all.

I'm liking this Gala- I hope everyone else enjoys it too!

Got an Ice egg since I like to hatch the matching elemental egg for each fest if I can, and I hatched this boy. One off of XXY, White/Antique/Yellow.. don't eat the yellow snow guys gals and other pals

My entry for the 2024 Crystalline Gala Skin & Accent Contest! Made with Love, for Obelisk F. It's scarf-compatible <3 I'm sure other apparel items will also work (winter hats when, FR staff), but I wanted to make sure that at least scarfs would!

I plan to print at least a few copies if it doesn't win, depending on interest. I would love to see how people dress up their snowbelisks!

Happy Crystalline Gala!

I completely forgot about this fest and was pleasantly surprised when I logged on this morning- here are my thoughts so far!

Familiar

It's so cute! It's stepping on its own tail like pallas' cats do which makes me unreasonably happy, haha. I like how the ice crystals are floating out of its back instead of just jutting out- all in all, very happy with it.

Apparel

This just screams ice festival in so many ways. The fluffy lining, the icicles on the edges, the antler on the side... I love it all. Plus I can think of so many sets this will go with! I love fest apparels that are interesting but extremely versatile, which this definitely is.

Aura

I wondered how they would pull this off without making this look like the winter wind, and I'm very pleased with the result. Ice shards look so nice as an aura, deadly but beautiful. Quite nice!

This is perfect. Literally perfect. This overshadows the original so hard. Come get y'all's Valentine's day dragons.

Favorite Skin - Snowy Night

The stars, the fluffy cloak, the jewelry and ribbons, the owl wings... this skin has it all, and I am just in awe. It's so aesthetically pleasing.
