PUNJAB EVOLVES NEW PRICE CONTROL MECHANISM

GOVT TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO PEOPLE: CS  

LAHORE, December 4:

         On the direction of Chief Secretary Punjab Major (Retd) Azam Suleman Khan, a new price control mechanism has been evolved to effectively monitor prices as well as demand and supply of essential commodities in the province. The recommendations - constitution of a committee to forecast availability of edibles, establishment of model bazaars at tehsil level, creation of database of all stocks, installation of cameras in every fruit and vegetable market and digitization of record of vehicles' entry - were presented at a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Punjab on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that administrative officers would have to work diligently and more actively to provide relief to people in real sense. He mentioned that profiteers, hoarders, and adulterators would be dealt with iron hands.

He issued directions to deputy commissioners to conduct surprise visits of fruit and vegetable markets and depute an officer not less than grade 17 as their representative to completely monitor auction process in these markets. He asked the officers to ensure display of rate lists at all shops and start an awareness campaign to sensitize people about complaint system in case of profiteering or any other violation.

Secretary Industries Department briefed the meeting that a crackdown on profiteers, hoarders and adulterators has been expedited in the province and as many as 3670 persons had been arrested while cases had been registered against 3957, besides imposition of a fine of eight million rupees during the month of November. About 222 cases had also been registered against hoarders during the same period, he added. He maintained that 74 farmers markets had been set up across the province where farmers can directly sell their produce without intervention of middlemen. The meeting was briefed that 2205 out of 2359 complaints received through Qeemat Punjab App were resolved immediately. Those among present were administrative secretaries of different departments including Agriculture, Food, Information, Commissioner Lahore Division, and officers concerned.

Notes:

1) Gasket face finish shall be in accordance with ASME B16.5 for raised face flanges.

2) The lap thickness T shall not be less than nominal pipe wall thickness.

3) When short pattern stub ends are used with larger flanges in Classes 300 and 600,with most sizes in Classes 900 and higher,and when long pattern stub ends are used with larger flanges in Classes 1500 and 2500,it may necessary to increase the length of the stub ends in order to avoid covering the weld with the flange.Such increases in length shall be a matter of agreement between the manufacturer and purchaser.

4) When special facings such as tongue and groove,male and female,etc.,are employed,additional lap thickness must be provided and such additional thickness shall be in addition to (not included in)the basic length F.

WP316L SMLS Stub End

What are they?

WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.

They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.

How do they work?

A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.

Why?

Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.

WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs' Types

WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.

WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are available in two standard lengths, MSS and ANSI.

WP304 Stub End

What are they?

WP304 Stub Ends are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.

They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.

How do they work?

A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.

Why?

Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.

WP304 Stub Ends are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.

WP304 Stub Ends are available in two standard lengths, MSS and ANSI.

UNS32750 GR2507 Stub End

What are they?

UNS32750 SAF2507 Stub Ends are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.

They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.

How do they work?

A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.

Why?

Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.

UNS32750 GR2507 Stub Ends' Types

UNS32750 GR2507 Stub Ends are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.

UNS32750 GR2507 Stub Ends are available in two standard lengths, MSS and ANSI.
