Megaman Summer Fanart Contest (Part 1.1) Starts Now!

OK, so maybe late Summer/early Fall is more fitting, but whatevs...

Now that the normal Summer contest results have been posted, it’s time to immediately jump into the next phase, which is to help celebrate the release of Megaman 11. (Get it now, the 1.1? I’m the cleverestest guy in the world XD)

This contest will be more of a participation raffle than an actual contest based on your skills or any given theme, though. So it doesn’t matter how good of an artist you are, as long as you want to draw the Meggermans, you have a shot at winning!

In honor of finally getting a long-awaited new Megaman/Rockman game after all these years, let’s draw art based on Megaman 11!! Simple as that. New Robot Masters, style updates for favorites like Roll and Wily, new enemies like Evil Eddie, as long as it pertains to Megaman 11 or has some aspect of Megaman 11 in your pic, it is fair game. 

“But Miyabi, we only know what 4 of the Robot Masters fully look like right now. What if the others aren’t revealed in time to draw something with them?”

Well, good point. I suppose that is a little limiting. Well, then let’s add something else new to the mix: Mega Man: Fully Charged! You can draw art of any kind that features the new Robot Designs and characters from the recently released animated show, too! Any art featuring MM:FC characters are also fair game!

“But Miyabi, there are only like 8 Robot Master characters in that show. That’s not enough, either! Also, I’m that person who hates Fully Charged and is not ashamed to tell you that. Why are you doing this to me?”

Well, also a fair point. But that doesn’t mean I’ll hinder your creativity. If you want to dream up a Fully Charged-styled Charge Man (He deserves it. And will totally fit in the Thomas the Tank Universe when he shows up) or Harpuia, even though they don’t exist to our knowledge yet, go for it. We’ve already seen easter eggs for X, Zero and more in one episode, so if you want to create a Fully Charge-styled character from any standard Megaman series, go for it. Hate Air Man’s design? Want to better Mega Mini? Show us what you think he should have looked like in your take. If it’s based on MM:FC, I’ll allow it!

“But Miyabi, I want to draw gorgeous ‘Android 21 Crimson Viper′ pachislot Dr. Light!”

Go on...

I mean, sure! That’s a new spinoff I guess we can celebrate, too! If you like any of the interesting pachinko slot machine game’s character designs, you can draw that, too. 

“Hey, Miyabi, don’t forget about Megaman in Smash!”

Well, we haven’t seen anything super new, other than Zero’s assist trophy introduction, and the updated Final Smash partners. But fine, you can draw Smash-styled Megaman pics, too. 

So, essentially, what I’m saying is: to celebrate the rebirth of the franchise in this, the twilight of the 30th anniversary, I want you to draw something, anything, involving any of the new Rockman/Megaman properties that have been revealed or will be launched this year. 

So, no judging? Nope. 

You are welcome to draw as many pictures as you want. For each picture you submit, your name will be added for a chance to win in the raffle. This contest is completely up to chance. But the more times your name is in the raffle, the better odds you have to win!

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s celebrate the fact that Mega Man is alive again in so many different iterations in 2018!! And then let’s have some fun playing that new game!!

Prizes:

This is going to be fairly simple for now. I have the right to change my mind on any additions, but for now, this is what I’ll go with.

I don’t want to guarantee something, if I’m not sure I’d be able to secure one. We’ll see if that changes during launch week. If you’ve already preordered, I will gladly just Paypal you the money to cover your existing purchase.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Only submit your own work, as usual. All art must be newly created, on or after today, August 10th, 2018. 

While normally, I tell you not to post your art to any of your social media accounts/art sites, in this case, there is no judging. So you are free to post it at any time, and get all the accolades you deserve before the contest deadline.

Please still submit your entry to me via e-mail at rock2125[at]hotmail[dot]com, or PM/note me a link to your pic. I’d rather be safe, in case somebody forgets to ‘@’ me or doesn’t get my attention via a normal upload/post. So still, please send it to me! Confirmed entries will be updated on a list here, as usual. 

If you are not interested in a specific raffle prize, please let me know when you submit. I have no problem excluding you from a chance at prize if you don’t want it. 

As usual, kids, get your parent’s permission before entering first.

DEADLINE:

All submissions must be received by Sunday, September 30th, 2018, before 11:59 PM, CST. Mega Man 11 releases that following Tuesday on October 2nd, so the deadline coincides to try to get prizes ordered/paid for as close to release as I can for you.
