Feeding night for the grandspooders! So far only 40 of the babies have molted, and you can see the difference in the two pictures. The first one has a small bum with longer legs, while the second one has a fat bum and shorter legs. The chonky tushies are still in premolt. Scenes from the reptile room this morning; the little spoods are finally molting. They'd been getting fatty booties for weeks, but now we're getting somewhere! After their next molt they'll be big enough for their new homes. Also, we got our first molt from #JavierMethol, the #togostarburstbaboon. A lot of you have been asking what the spider babies eat, so here they are. Everyone has officially had their first meal tonight courtesy of these gross ass fruit flies. Fancy friday night plans. A super important thing for the baby spiders is moisture. As adults, these guys only require a dish since they like a drier enclosure, but as babies, they need moisture to stay hydrated. I am currently spraying 169 individual spider condos.
