DID YOU JUST SAY GHOSTS OF TUPELO LANDING I ADORE THAT BOOK !!!1111
OKAY DISCLAIMER I HAVENT FINISHED IT BUT
(sappy warning)
it was my little brother's childhood copy and it is very clearly a very well loved and very read copy and he gave it to me last hanukkah and i've read part of it but havent finished it (for various reasons mainly struggling with reading until i got new glasses and then struggling with fiction specifically because of brainweird) but i keep it on the end table next to the couch because it has a comfort object aoe healing aura and i like to be able to see it when im chilling and its also a comfort object for my dog who likes to sniff and lick it and lay with her head on it bc i assume it smells like him still
the story is very cute and sweet so far but mostly it is just a magic item that gives me a buff effect when its within 5 feet of me

Get to know me asks: cactus, camellia, aloe vera, nutmeg
cactus ⇢ something you’re currently learning (about)?
I am currently learning a ton about what makes a short story work for me--at least in terms of turning an idea into a finishable story. Short version: Start the story as close to the ending as possible, a lot of stuff can be left as backstory, and don't worry about creating an entire scene to show something if you can tell about it in a couple of sentences.
camellia ⇢ what were you like when you were younger? do you think you’ve changed a lot?
I was very shy around strangers, bossy of my siblings, energetic, loved reading, loved the outdoors. I've become much more confident with people and more sedentary, but I still love reading. I've changed quite a bit in some ways, not much in others.
aloe vera ⇢ what’s something (mundane) you really want to experience in life?
I want to go to an art museum. Never done it. Don't know anyone who'd do it with me. Don't even know if it'd be fun. But I want to experience it at least once.
nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?
I don't really have much of a theme. Just scattered stuff that I like and that's practical/cheap. I've got a turquoise wall and bedding in my bedroom. Scattered religious pictures. One of my favorite things is a teeny little statue of Mary from Notre Dame cathedral that I got for free at a garage sale that sits in my windowsill. A long white dresser that also serves as endtable, with a small stack of books for reading and prayer.
