Personal room rankings:
1 - Glacial Wasteland: B08 2 - Rubicon: LAYERS_OF_REALITY 3 - Metropolis: S06 4 - The Exterior: D04 5 - Drainage System: C01 6 - Metropolis: FINAL 7 - Silent Construct: A34 8 - The Exterior: D01 9 - Industrial Complex: A06 10 - Undergrowth: RIVSTART
Extra comment: This is a weird one, cus I don't feel particularly obsessed with any of these. But I do very much enjoy the B08 kind of rooms on Saint, and most of those got knocked out already, so I'm doing a bit of a bias vote here (though you gotta admit it, it's still an extremely good room).
Do I take issues with the rooms people actually ended up going for? Well, no…. for the most part, that is.
D04 and S06 are very strong options. While I do have things I could nitpick about them, they're still absolutely top tier, that I cannot deny. The rest, however….. I mean, they're not bad, but they did sort of give me the feeling of 'Really? Out of all the options, you're picking that?', if you know what I mean (this is not meant to come off in an antagonizing way, I'm just surprised, is all).
But upon further inspection, I do kind of see a few reasons why they might be desirable. Because, sure D01 is sort of long and uneventful, but it does feel like a classic Wall room (like, if you mention The Wall to someone, they will think of a room like this), so if you like the subregion, you will like the room too. And A06 is something I find to be more annoying, than interesting, but it does have its unique ideas, and it does manage to stand out from the rest of the Industrial Complex rooms, despite its small size and unremarkable visuals. That's certainly a good achievement.
RIVSTART is just dumb though, to put it bluntly. Like, really, you're going to tell me that the Drainage System version doesn't get to stay, but the Undergrowth one does? I…..... just…..... huuuhhhhh???? (Yeah, I know, Drainage's version got knocked out cus it was matched against OE's FINAL03, Outskirts' B04, and FP's L01 + E08, but you gotta admit that this is pretty freaking funny)
Oh, and while I was typing this, FINAL went up, which is fine, I suppose. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of the lighting and colors, especially during the night. It just made the fight feel a bit more annoying. But the design is still absolutely rock solid, and perfectly nails the whole 'Scavenger Chieftain throne room' thing that it was going for. Its strengths are certainly more clear than the strengths of some other rooms that got votes, so yeah.

Congratulations for day 267 winners!
#rain world room ranking#rain world opinions#alright this is probably the most negative I've been on this round#so I'm just gonna put in a reminder that I don't think these rooms suck#It's the third round. There are only winners here#So think of D01 A06 and RIVSTART as my 8th 9th and 10th favorites xd#cus in a round 1 poll they would be pretty dang solid#and if we'd put in some other random video games they would be top tier#I just have to think of reasons to put them below the other options here

Personal room rankings:
1 - Rubicon: J02 (9/10) 2 - The Exterior: H01 (9/10) 3 - Shaded Citadel: E03 (8/10) 4 - The Exterior: I01 (8/10) 5 - Looks to the Moon: MEM01 (7/10) 6 - Submerged Superstructure: bittershelter (6/10) 7 - Silent Construct: B27 (6/10) 8 - Solitary Towers: A02 (5/10) 9 - Looks to the Moon: MEM02 (4/10) 10 - Sky Islands: A18 (4/10)
Extra comment: There's really not that much to comment on about in this one. The city view room is absolutely crushing it, and I didn't expect anything less from it. As it also turns out, there doesn't seem to be any rooms on the poll that are on my list. Therefore, we're only doing in-depth coverings on bonus rooms today. (Which I suppose is sort of fitting, since nothing outside of H01 has received major support from voters, and I don't feel like there's really any point to talking about the room that's sweeping here. That one basically speaks for itself)
The first room we'll be coving today is a long one in Rubicon, B01. This is one that I'm sort of mixed on. The base idea is solid, and it overall does work, but anyone who visited this place a bunch knows that Miros Vultures love hanging around here, and that does sour things for me, since there aren't too many hiding spots in this big open room. Sure, it isn't too big of an issue if you're skilled or lucky enough, but the experience of this place is still rather meh. It's a 6/10, at least to me.
Then we move onto another Downpour specific place, bitteraerie4 which is within, you guessed it, Submerged Superstructure. And this one is… ok. It serves as a connecting room between a bunch of more interesting ones, while having a layout that doesn't do anything crazy. And that's kind of all that it is, a nice place that doesn't really stay in your memory as an important sight. But it is somewhat better than most of the rooms that serve this purpose, so a 7/10 would probably be fair.
Afterwards, we have B04 from Sky Islands, which is honestly a way cooler room than A18, so the fact that the latter made it to the second round, but the former didn't, is just weird (especially when you factor in the love for Sky Islands that I've noticed in these polls). Does this mean this thing is a masterpiece? Not quite, the White Lizard spawn is still questionable, and while the platforming isn't bad, it's not that tough or interesting to figure out and do. Though I suppose I should be glad that a Squidcada isn't required, cus that would ruin quite a lot for me. But thankfully, this iteration that we got works pretty dang well. I think this one also earned a 7/10.
And for the last one, we're going back to Saint's world, or more specifically, to B05 of Solitary Towers. Which also just so happens to be way cooler than the room that the region is actually presenting for this poll (that one being A02). Now, the Chimney Canopy version is probably more iconic, but this is still one that a lot of Saint runs will use, and I think that's for the better, since there's plenty of stuff to grapple onto. Of course, there is a White Lizard spawn here, but you're quite the agile Slugcat in places like this, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. The color palette is also way nicer than the base one, and that's a hill I'm dying on. So this place is getting the great 8/10 rating from me.

Dang, the final day of round one, it got here so fast! I gotta say, your capability to keep doing this every day for this many months is something I truly respect. Not many people have the capability to show such levels of dedication to a random hobby. I know I have missed out on a bunch of days during this round, while the other polls were running, and I apologize for that. I just didn't want to have to worry about so many polls constantly, while also having to keep up with my college studies. It's usually best not to have too much stuff that my brain would need to constantly be keeping up with xd But if anyone is interested on what my thoughts are about a particular room that I didn't address (…which are most of them, in retrospect), then feel free to ask me.
Oh, and I almost forgot - you didn't include Farm Arrays in the tags, hehe :D (but I choose to believe that was intentional because Farm Arrays is… you know, Farm Arrays) And now, let's get onto the last list of this round!
Personal room ranking:
1 - Metropolis: cramped (9/10) 2 - Waterfront Facility: C01 (8/10) 3 - The Rot: A09 (8/10) 4 - Farm Arrays: D06 (7/10) 5 - Waterfront Facility: C12 (6/10) 6 - Garbage Wastes: PIPE12 (6/10) 7 - Five Pebbles: C06 (6/10) 8 - The Exterior: E03 (5/10) 9 - Shaded Citadel: C01 (4/10)
Extra comment: You might be wondering, is this a good note to close the round out on? And to that, I can only give a solid "Maybe?"
Admittedly, most of these are pretty decent. Cramped is my favorite, mostly because it's a room with a boring purpose, but a unique design, and I really like it when the devs do that. Just because a room isn't important, it doesn't mean that it has to be a carbon copy of some other rooms from the region, after all (but it absolutely can be, of course, I'm just gonna rate it too high in that case, like in the case of PIPE12 here). I don't think the name describes it very well, since this place doesn't look cramped at all, but you can't see the names in-game, so I can forgive that.
As for the others, a couple of them seem to be making it through, and I'd say pretty much all of them deserve it (and I'm going through them all, cus if there's one reblog that deserves to go even longer, it's this one). C01 is a great example of how to modify an already existing room. You can easily tell which specific Shoreline room this is, while the layout, aesthetic and general feel of it fits Waterfront Facility perfectly. One thing I'm slightly annoyed by is how this new layout makes grabbing the Jellyfish unlock very trivial, but considering the insane mobility of Artificer, Rivulet and Saint, Downpour players could have still very easily bypassed the challenge.
D06 is creative, but it does have some frustrating elements. As an overall design package, though? Yeah, it does work, especially with the rain's flooding mechanic allowing the shelter to be accessible from the bottom, if need be. I'm sure a lot of us have used that, and we all felt like a really clever scug when we did that :)
A09's idea is simple, but effective, throwing off the player by closing off the old path with the rot, while opening up an entirely new one with the collapse. This region does that a lot in general, but it's a great way to let players know that this'll be a lot more than just "FP, but with a higher number of DLLs, and inconsistent gravity". Proto DLLs not being placed annoyingly is also a plus.
And the last one to make it is…. C01? That's weird, cus I have an enormous love for Shaded, yet even I don't really about this room too much. It does fit in well, and it doesn't have anything particularly bad about it, but it's also one of those rooms that I wouldn't mind seeing removed. Its rightside parts are kind of neat, I guess.
And now, for the last and most certainly the least - E03, which didn't get a single vote XD I wanted to mention that one, because I actually really like it in campaigns where it has a DLL. However, I have visited it as Hunter. And I can safely say that I've never made a bigger mistake in this game. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Precipice and Waterfront Facility were made, just so that Spearmaster and Artificer can go around that godforsaken room. I sure did that, I have absolutely no regrets about it. So yeah, it's quite satisfying to see my feelings get validated like this.
