;The chatter of other students filled the room. Childe and his friend group was loud like always, typical Highschool guys. Break was about to begin, but luckily you and your friends had the same class prior to break. Sitting on the right side in the back of the class room with your friends, you sat quietly listening to them talking while doing your Chemistry homework.

"And I kid you not...she looked at me NOT ONCE...BUT TWICE!"

'Hutao really likes her..'

"SHE WANTS YOU..for real."

"or maybe she was looking at you because you had something on your face... "

"Haha! Let Tao be delusional, Chongyun."

"Ehm." Ah, it was Mr. Zhongli

"Ms Tao, you are quite loud I would appreciate it if you were to..tone it down a bit" the whole class was looking towards your group, embarassing.

"Ms L/N. Would you please come to my desk for a moment? I need to discuss something with you."

'Shit. I hope it's not about my Geography test..'

Walking nervously to his desk, you looked back to see your friends giving you thumbs up and hearts; if you weren't embarrassed before, you were now.

"You are well aware that you are our class procter, aren't you?"

"Yes ,sir."

"Ah well, I hope you remember what I requested you to do yesterday."

"You wanted me to show the new kid around?"

"Good to hear you remembered, have you gotten to that yet?"

"No sir.."

"Well, you have until after break, please come to me once you are done, you may return to your seat now" As much as I enjoy playing the role of class procter, I'm too shy to approach people I barely know.

"Y/n! enlighten us, what did Mr. Zhongli say to you?"

"Is he removing you from the class procter role?"

"No, he is not removing me yun, he wants me to show the new kid around but i'm way too nervous to talk to people i just met.."

"Ayaya.. typical y/n, you havent changed one bit since middle school."

"Tao!! please don't remind me of myself from back then!"

"Haha, its okay im sure one of us will be free to accompany you, but let me tell you this..I will not be free, I have club meetings to attend, sorry.."

"It's okay Xingqui, Tao, Yun, Xiangling? what about you three?"

"Sorry!! I promised Yanfei that I would meet up with her at the library.."

"Err..I have a Computer Science test.."

"I have to take care of Guoba!!"

'Ah..so I really have to do this alone now..'It's okay Y/N you're old enough to do these baby things on your own. It will be okay!'

"Oh..it's okay, ill manage on my own! As a matter of fact"

You stood from your seat

"Ill go talk to him right now! and tell him to meet me infront of the lockers outside the classroom."

"Ah..are you sure tha-"

"Well we cant stop her now shes already on her way."

"Lets hope she dosen't embarass herself.."

Walking to his seat with false confidence you were about to lightly tap his shoulder, but before you could.

"Y/NNN HIIII" Childe.

The rest of the group greeted you as well, you were quite good friends with them. "Hello Childe...Hi guys!" you said Childes name with a bit of bitterness, obviously as a joke.

"Haha, what brings you here?"

"Just needa talk to Scaramouche, not much"

"Ooo-"

"Don't"

"Tch dammit".

"What do you want?" he said blankly

"Oh uhm, im Y/N , the class procter Mr. Zhongli told me to show you around and help you with the school schedual and things, could you meet me during break near the lockers?"

He suddenly, yet slowly with a bit of confusion looked at you,your friends in the back, and, then his. Both groups were teasingly throwing fists, hearts, and, thumbs ups in the air silently cheering the two of you. All that work just to embarass the both of you.

His confused expression quickly went away as he heard your words, and was replaced with a more approachable and softer face. "Hah..Did he really say that?" he said while looking at your face with a smug look.

"...Yes. Is there a problem?" 'If he can be sassy so can I',

"Are you sure you're the class procter? You dont seem very procter like to me.." he spoke very casually with a chuckle.

"Excuse me?"

"Haha! ahh.. you really don't recognize me do you?" 'is he..fucking with me? and why is he smiling like that, creep.'

"No..? Am I suppose to?" 'Seriously , who is this guy?'

"Wow, personality wise you really haven't changed one bit N/N haha, talk to me once you remember who I am." 'how did he know that nickname, hell not even my friends know about it..'

He gave you a harsh flick on your forehead, looked back at his notebook and continued his work.

From the corner of your eye you could see Childe and Kaeya hitting each other and whispering, they seemed quite excited...

With your arms crossed, confused you spoke again "Uhm.... So is that a yes or no to meeting me at the lockers?"

He looks back at you with a amused face "Fine ill meet you there, your friends looked quite offended, better go to 'em"

"Oh, yea ill see you later i guess..."

Making your way back to your seat with a confused look, you could hear Scaramouchs' friends teasing him.

Then you saw your friends faces.

They looked almost offended? Shocked? Baffled?

"Y/N..."

"No fuckin way."

"DO YOU KNOW EACH OTHER?!"

"Tao shhh.." you spoke while calmly sitting down

"Ah...well what happened..?"

As soon as you told them they started taking guesses as to who could it be, who was it that laid their flithy hands on their Y/N..the audacity.

"How dare he act so frank with you" Xiangling said obviously as a joke, but she acted as if he commited a crime.

"Well break is about to start" Chongyun stood up with his Computer Science notes.

"Good luck on your date"

"He is not my date!"

"Sure.."

Xingqui stood up too following the boy "Well bye bye N/N good luck!!"

Slowly Hutao and Xiangling left too, leaving you on your own.

'I guess ill just go to the lockers and wait for him..'

It was Mr. Zhongli's class and he had arranged the class in the pairs that were made a few weeks prior. The class was silent but a few whispers were heard.

The atmosphere between you two was still stuffy, the weekend was a bit awkward..

For some reason, since that day you haven't been able to sit calmly, something is keeping you on the edge. Maybe it was because you're nervous? Or maybe you felt guilty? Whatever it was, was bothering you non-stop.

"Why are you silent? normally your mouth can't shut up.."

"Hm.." Something was holding you back from replying to him, it almost felt as if you didn't want to get too close to him.

"..What's wrong?"

"Nothing." He didn't pry any further and instead just shrugged.

There was a eary silence between you two now, until he decided to break it.

"You wanna come with me during break?"

"Can't...busy and not in the mood."

"Busy? with?"

"Things."

Scaramouche POV ♡:

'She's stubborn..'

He had his head resting on his hand as he fidgeted with a pencil as Y/N typed words into the word document. He looked to his right where Y/N was sitting, and he noticed heavy eye bags under her eyes. He had noticed them before weeks ago but, they looked worse now.

"Did you not sleep?"

"Kinda"

'Does she hate me or something?'

He was about to say something but was cut off by a "Ding!"

He took out a small packet filled with little soft candies, "Hey, do you want one?"

"No, it's oka-"

"Just take it." He quickly shoved a few in your hand and put the packet back inside.

"It's okay reall-"

"I don't wanna hear it."

"..Thanks" She quitely put them aside and went back to the word document. He had a light grumble from her stomach, "Did you not eat breakfast?"

"I don't eat breakfast"

"Then have one of the candies I gave you atleast"

"Not in the mood.."

"..Do you get lunch at school?"

"No.."

"That's..not healthy"

"Hm..uh sorry I have to use the bathroom..",She quickly got up in a hurry and went out the classroom. After a few seonds, Xiangling went after her with a slight worried expression.

The bell for break rung and all of a sudden Xingqui and Chongyun walked up to Scaramouche who was cleaning up Y/N's things, "May I ask, what happened to Y/N?" Xingqui whispered trying not to make a scene. "Did you say something to her?", Chongyun seemed a bit defensive..

"What? No we were just talking she seemed a but off so I tried to make small talk, we talked about a few things but, I asked her if she had breakfast she said no, I said that's not healthy, then she kinda just walked off?" ,Scaramouche had started over explaining, it became a habit of his after that day.

"Ah I see...Well! Thankyou for looking out for her!", Xingqui gave a slight smile, then walked off.

'I..I should check up on her soon..' As he was thinking, his thoughts were cut off by someone, "Soo, loverboyy did my plan work?" 'Fuck you Ajax.' "No, it scared her away, thanks for nothing loser" "Ouch.. sorry?"

A/N: yes. I KNOW JTS A VERY LATE UPDATE...AND SHORT. but it was test week and nkw im gonna be busy on the weekend ☹️PLEASE TELL ME IF THE STARTING IS CRINGE OR NOT😭😭 i dont know how to show past trauma...☹️ yeah this silly little trauma thing may or may not be real😮😮 epic coping mechanisim makimg a WHOLE ASS FANFIC😭😭

You were sitting on your lounge sofa, messaging Venti while watching Mewo explore your dorm curiously. She kept pawing at random things she found intresting but her eyes kept going towards the glass vase with Lily flowers in them.

Before she could get in position to jump and attack the vase, your dorm bell rung loudly causing her to run towards you. You picked her up gently and walked towards the door to see who it was at this hour.

As soon as you opened the door a loud voice hit you ,"Heyy! Long time no see Venti's cousin!" Ajax. "Hi..you know I have a name right?" "Mhmm!" He totally ignored whatever you said while he petted Mewo who you were holding. You let out a light cough to catch his attention, "So how can I help you?" after a slight pause he looked up with a dumbfounded look, "Oh! righttt, Scara sent me to take you to his dorm so you could get Mewo's things." 'I..i'm gonna see..HIS DORM?, it's not a big deal but..I gotta admit i'm excited'

A hand waving infront of your face quickly took you out of your thoughts. "Heyy? You with me?, c'mon let's go it's already prettyyy late!", "Oh yeah...Uh one sec let me just get my shoes and my phone.." Still a bit taken back you slowly replied to him, got your things and followed him out.

"Aah! and this one is just too precious. In this one, Kuni had found a small chick, I think he was about-" "Yae..that's enough..." It was about 5:34pm and Yae was keeping you preoccupied by showing you baby picture of Scaramouche, or as they called him "Kunikuzushi" ?

"C'mon on! You used to be adorable, always smiley.." Yae spoke with a smile as she flipped a page, "Oh? what's this..?"

Another picture. But..

"Who's this little girl next to Kuni? ,Baal? Any idea?" She looked up at Baal who was cleaning up Kanas' color pencils and papers from the table.

"Let me have a look," she walked over to Yae and peered down and the picture album.

"Ah.. it's little Y/N hah, she really has changed alot" She had a warm smile on her face.

"Really?! I would never be able to guess, she really has changed alot!" She spoke in a cheery tone and looked up at you, "You've always been cute ,haha!" The picture was cute.. It was you and Scaramouche, almost about..3 years old? Someone had sneakly taken the picture, not wanting you two to notice them. You were happily smiling with a top hat on while making Scaramouche wear a princess crown. He had his signature pout on his face as he looked up at you with his eyebrows furrowed. It seemed that you two were playing tea party.

You were flattered at her compliment, with a slight blush and a smile you shyly thanked her. You looked at Scaramouche beside you, he had his arms crossed with a pout and was looking at Kana who had fallen asleep on the couch.

You looked down at your phone, 6:01 pm. Oh.

You lightly coughed and stood up, "Well, Aunty thank you for having me! it's getting late so, I have to get home.." You spoke with a smile. "Ah, anytime darling, please do come back again!" "Ofcource Aunty!"

You followed Baal towards the door but as soon as she opened the door, "Ah, it's quite dark, I cannot have you walk alone..Ah! Kunikuzushi, be a dear and walk her home, it shouldn't be a problem, yes?"

"Aunty, please I will be fine no need to-" "I insist." Well I can't say anything against that anymore...

"...Fine." Without another word he quickly grabbed your wrist and was about to lead you outside, "Wait!!" You looked back to see who it was.

Kana..! She was still sleepy and was trying her best not to stumble as she ran over to you with her squeaking shoes. "Don't go!! You can't" Baal lifted her up and took her room. Kana was trying to get down, whining and not wanting to leave.

"Whatever, let's just go" Scaramouche grabned his phone and walked out with your wrist still in his hand. You looked back to wave at Yae as he lead you to your house.

"Thanks for walking me home Scara!" You spoke as you looked through your purse for your keys. "Hm.." he didn't say anything else but you knew it was his way of saying "your welcome".

Finally getting your keys and putting them in the lock, you looked at your left at him. He had his hands in his pockets and was looking down while kicking a small pebble around.

'I.. I don't know if I should..' You gave him a quick side hug. It took him a bit by suprise but, he didn't push you away. A: It was a quick hug and, B: He was taken by suprise. "Thanks for today!...and sorry.." You mumbeled the last two words, he was about to question you as to why you said sorry but, you were faster and quickly went inside.

He stood there was a second, still processing everything. As soon he turned around and took a step towards his house, he heard a voice from inside.

Scaramouche POV:

"Have you not any shame?! Staying at a boys house for this long!" "Is this how we raised you!?! No less than a slut." "Pa, please I said sorry, I didn't see the time-" "No excuses!"

He had a faint worried expression on his face, very faint..barely there. His hands were clenched as he looked back at the door. 'Are those her parents..? They never used to be so...' His thoughts were all over the place. '...I better get home'. Hesitant, he made his way home

Y/N POV:

You had just woken up. Last night felt like a blur, your memory was never that good but, it didn't bother you much now that you were used to it. As soon as you came home you remember something bad happening between you and your parents but, it wasn't clear. When you went to your room you quickly took a shower and fell asleep, not wanting to do anything else.

11:23 AM. 'Good they should be asleep..'

You grabbed your phone and turned it on just to be blasted by a bright light and thousands of messages from your friends.

'3:45 PM...i'll just make an excuse..'

"Y/NNN OVER HEEEEREEE"

"Tao!! shhhh! you're being too loud!"

"The both of you are too loud..."

"Haha! Well, you surely aren't wrong yun!"

You had just arrived at the cafe near by Taos' house, "Tattle Tea House". Though it says tea, they have many other sorts of refreshments and sweets. And the cozy atmosphere makes it better!

"Hah, hey guys!"

Xiangling signaled you to sit next to her by patting the empty space by her. They group had already ordered, for themselves and you. They knew your go to order and figured that they would order for you because of how long you were taking.

You had greeted them but, they didn't respond...They all had teasing smiles on their faces, except of chongyun, he just stared blankly? he didn't usually take part in teasing and would rather sit there and watch.

"You..you don't love us anymore.."

"Hm? Tao what do yo-"

"I knowww you're sooo in love with him but, I didn't know it was that bad!"

"Xiangl-"

"Did you invite him here so you could sneak away with him?" Xingqui whispered with a teasing smile.

"Wait..what??!" Oh damn.."H-he's here?"

"Oh so you didn't invite him?"

"Augh ofcourse not Xiangling!" you spoke while hiding your face in your hands.

"Oooh someones shyyy!"

"We should call him over!!"

"Ah! no please don't!!"

"Haha, we merely jest! worry not we will not do as we speak"

Phew! Thankgod you wont have to face him, yesterday got a bit awkward..

"KUNI KUNI LOOK!!, ITS FRIEND!!!" oh. Kana... She was excitedly pulling on his sleeve while very directly pointing towards you. She could barely stand still because of how excited she was. Scaramouche was trying to calm her voice down and get a hold of her so she would stop jumping but, she quickly ran towards you.

"Hii!! Do you remember me?" She spoke with a smile.

"Awee, lemme guess....Kara?"

"No!!"

"Hmm..Kayla?"

"No...you dont remember?"

"Awh, sorry! ofcourse I remember how could I forget Kana!"

She happily climbed up on your lap and babbled random things while Scaramouche was in line getting his order, you had already signaled to him that its okay and he can stay in line to wait for his order.

"Awe, y/n is this the baby you were talking about?" Xiangling gleemed as she squeezed one of Kanas' cheek.

"Hey kid" Chongyun wasn't a big fan of kids so he setteled on those words.

"Ah, hello Kana i've heard mighty things aboht you, you truly are as cute as they say you are!" Xingqui spoke to Kana with a smile.

"Ayaya, you are truly adorable..nothing like a certain someome.." Tao whispered the last few words, luckily they were only heard by the group...and Scaramouche?!

"Haha very funny dead girl." Scaramouche had a drink in one hand and a small box, most probably for Kana.

Tao responded by jokingly looking at him up and down and then looking away while rolling her eyes. "Ah ah, that's enough Ta-" "No!! He's literally replacing me!! This calls for war!" "Tao...now that you say it...yeah HE IS REPLACING US" "Guys-" "No! I can not stand for this foolish behaviour..!"

"Seriously? you guys are that insecure?" "Scaramo-"

"Insecure??! atleast I dont need to hide my forehead with goofy bangs"

"You have bangs too though?"

"...atleast they aren't goofy...like your bowl cut"

"Atleast I can pull off my haircut, look at yours looks like you blindly cut it at home"

"K-kana..." Scaramouche stood there embarassed with his eyes closed and fingers rubbing his temples. "Kana don't you wanna meet the toy friend?" Scaramouche spoke with a happier tone trying to convice Kana.

"What the hell is a toy friend...?" You looked up at him confused while the group too pondered upon the same thing.

You were the last one left, Tao had just went home. You were gonna walk home so decided that you would stay until the last person left. The weather was..suprisingly nice, winter was approaching. The sun was about to set and a cold fresh breeze was blowing. Just as you were about to start walking home someone called for you.

"Wait!" Oh, Scaramouche! He was a bit out of breathe due to him practically running to you.

"Hm? What happen?" He didn't have Kana with her, she was most probably playing with Antonia.

"I..I wanted to talk to you.."

"...About?"

"Yesterday, when I dropped you off, you said sorry...what for?" He was standing a bit away from you and had his hands on his knees, trying to calm his breathe down

"..." 'So that's what he wanted to talk about...I don't know what to say..'

It took a second for you to start speaking but, you eventually built up the confidence to atleast say something. You knew that if you didn't say a word, it would only make things worse, "Sorry..I..I know I lied" You couldn't look at him, you spoke with your head hanging low. You had your arms crossed and fidgeted with the sleeves of your top.

"I know I lied about not knowing you and I.. might've acted like a bitch towards you" Your voice stsrted to break it's composure.

You couldn't read his face at all, was there a slight hint of anger?, dissapointment?

"I know I left the school without s-saying anything.. I really should've but, I couldn'-"

Finally he said something, "Why did you leave? Why did you delete all your socials that day? Did...did you no longer want contact with me?" His words sounded harsh, he sounded a bit hurt.

"That's not-"

"If it is, say it as it is."

"Sc-..Scaramouche, I can't say much.."

"Just say it Y/N, I'm gettinf tired of trying to fix this, trying to fix...us" he sounded almost desprate...

"I know but-"

"Just give me a reason!" The gap between you two felt further now..

"..." 'Do I really have to say it?'

"Look... you know how she and all of them treated me..I couldn't possibly stay there..my parents ..would never let me stay there..."

"...I thought..I thought things got better between you guys.." he spoke as he tried to close the gap between you two..

"They didn't and they won't."

An awkward silence was between you two, until he decided to break it.

"...Let me make it up to you"

You looked up at him with slightly glossy eyes and red nose.

"Come over next weekend, we can work on our project and...this" By this, he meant you two.

"What do you say, hm?" He still sounded a bit hesitant in his words but, sincere at the same time.

"...Okay" You replied to him, then looked away.

"Hah, don't be so cold..." He put a hand on your shoulder causing you to look up at him. The gap got smaller.

"Also...let's make a deal." Deal? ,confused at his actions you put a hand over his hand which was on your shoulder.

"What do you mean?" you asked, there was still a slight whimper in your voice and you still felt a but shaken up from before.

"The more you tell me about yourself..the more i'll tell you"

Saying that you were exhausted was an understatement. Sure, being the Class Procter was great and all but running around, up and down all day while helping teachers and organizing presentations... wasn't the most relaxing thing. Your legs hurt, your back hurt and you were ready to fall asleep any minute. Entering the house while dragging your feet and lazily slumping, you were greeted by your neighbours small calico that was being taken care of by your family while your neighbours were abroad. "Sushi". She meowed at you at and lightly pushed her paws against your ankles trying to get your attention.

You gave the kitten some food, water and some pets, then headed to your room to freshen up and possibly take a quick power nap. You threw your bag on the chair near your study table and flopped on your bed while staring at the celing, thinking about how much more work you'll need to do tomorrow. Atleast it keeps you distracted from...certain things. Finally after taking a light shower and changing into something more comfortable you were ready to doze off. Just when you closed your eyes, you heard a "ding!" from your phone.

"Ugh, who could it be now?.." Squinting due to the bright light you could barely make out the name of the sender. It was the group chat.

"X-xingqui!!" You spoke with a chuckle at his reaction.

Again..?! "Scara..I don't want to talk about this right now.." You had your head down as you leaned against the wall while kicking a small pebble around.

"You can't just say that. We have to talk about this."

"W-what?? ..what do you want to know? Just say it.."

"...Why do you keep..acting like that?"

" We've had this conversation already! WHY do you keep on acting like this?! Why do you avoid me..?" He sounded angry and impateint..

You were quite for a second..but finally after building up some courage, "...Did you hear what she said?" He didn't respond, "Well, did you? Did you hear the lies she spread? ..Did you ever..believe them?"

"What are you-?!.. Ofcourse not! I heard them yeah i'll admit it, but do you think i'm that guliable??"

"I don't know..I jus-"

"You think, i'd believe some random petty bitch, over you?" You couldn't respond to him, you felt a tad bit guilty.., "We've known each other for years...we've trusted each other..well we trusted each other.." He was sniffling a bit as he poured his heart and emotions out, "So what now? Are you going to throw this to the side just because you're scared?! ...Are you gonna throw us away?"

"Scaramouche, please.." You were crying at this point, there was a silence between you two until he spoke.

"...Now that I think about it, You're the one who always apologises.. This time i'm sorry.. I could've done so much to help you, but I didn't.."

"Don't say that..It wasn't your fault..."

"...I know I failed to help you then, so let me now" He desprately spoke.

After taking a secomd to think about it you spoke, "Hah, that's kinda cheesy.." You tried cracking a joke with a smile, to lighten up the mood.

"Ugh, nevermind i'm never helping you ever again!" He spoke with a fake dissapointed tone and let go of your hands, but he had a slight smile on his face. The both of you had slightly red noses, yours more red compared to his. "No!! C'mon i'm just jokingg!"

"Okay fine, so will you let me make it up to you?" He put his hands on your shoulders and you put your hands on his.

You put a finger on your chin while looking at him with a teasing smile, "Hmm..depends! How will you make it up to me?"

"Sighh...You ask for too much..Fine, i'll take you somewhere aaand get you something, how does that sound, hm?"

"No 5 star resturant..? No dior..? Fine, I guess it'll do.." You faked a sad tone as you pouted while trying not to laugh. "You bitch.." He harshly squeezed your cheek as a way to tease you, "Oh! And also, i'm taking this" He took a 10 dollar bill out of your pocket and quickly ran away, "HEY! THATS NO FAIR!!!"
