Kuharisha; kwanza kinyesi huanza kuwa laini, pili hubadilika rangi kuwa kijivu na baadaye mchanganyiko wa damu na kuonekana kama kahawia au rangi ya udongo au brauni. 

Manyoya yasiyo na mpangilio na yaliyosinyaa, kuku hapendezi na hukunja mabawa kama amevaa koti.

Kuku kupauka (paleness), hususani  kwenye viremba (comb/wattle) na miguuni kutokana na kukosa damu.

Kukosa hamu ya kula. 

Vifo vingi hasa vifaranga. 

Kupungua uzito. Kushusha utagaji.

1.Epuka unyevu kwenye maranda (litter material) na banda kwa ujumla. 

2.Tumia dawa za kukinga ugonjwa (coccidiostats). 

3.Badilisha maranda kabla ya kuingiza vifaranga au kuku wapya.
