Raptors are not pets

(Warning: Done in a small drabble format so not the best quality. Not even proof read.)

Darceloix coaxed with a small piece of dodo towards a baby raptor. "Here little guy. I won't hurt you." Distracting with the meat, his other hand carefully sneaked around to untangle the raptor's foot from a bundle of roots. A hiss still warned as he was bitten anyways, but he just smiled when the leg was freed and the raptor looked confused at him. The wildwood slowly placed the meat on the ground and backed his hands away. It didn't take long for the baby raptor to eat and scuttle away a feet or two. Arcel grinned. "You don't have to run. I got more meat if you want come home with me." He wasn't expecting the happy reply he got from the raptor... which bode poorly for him. Turning his head, the God's Quiver came face to face with a full adult female, probably the babies mother.

"Menphina's sweet embrace..."

A while later, Arcel hissed as a chirurgeon dabbed something onto numerous cuts and bites. Quite used to this, the chirurgeon simply trained a blank expression to the wildwood. "This is the fifth time this week. What pet did you try to get this time?"

"Baby Raptor."

Darceloix heard a long, tired sigh.

DETERMINATION : Which emotion motivates your character to do what they do? For Darceloix

This is a hard one. Arcel (Darcy for those who want to tease him) isn't particularly a motivated individual. Or maybe he isn't really that motivated by emotions. Mostly, it is duty that motivates him to do anything... or his miqo'te best friend (though he can be a demotivator too lmao).

I mean, maybe love if it has to be an emotion? Love for his parents (he visits them often and does things for them), love for Gridania (he is a God's Quiver after all), etc? Maybe...

Snagged a couple screenies last night. To bad I haven't gotten far enough to get to Thanalan yet so I can dye his clothing. He will have to deal with yellow for now.... though yellow doesn't look that bad on him. ~MK

Aether data center (Jenova)

Headcannons:

-Has a 'bird beak' nose that has cost him many a date

-Pretty much resigned himself to being married to his work in the Quivers

-Works under Dhebi Polaali in the Ewer division

-has and will literally take home any baby animal he can

-Dhebi constantly has to send the animals back into the wild or find them new homes or else Arcel would skip meals in favor of taking care of them (she knows he can't afford so many pets.. or any pet)

-has a high respect for animals and life but is also a good hunter

-boar is his favorite to hunt

-not the best cook but can make a great fire roasted game

-favorite food is is heavy, thick stew

-Would go out to hunt his own meals if he is sad, mostly using it as a means to clear his head

-Prefers being called Arcel or Arc and hates Darcy and DD

-Ewer Quivers like to tease him with Darcy and DD

-Sometimes called 'The Hawk' for his bird like hair and nose and sharp eyes with a bow

-Has a duskwight female he grew up with (no name given as of yet) who he tried confessing to once and failed. Still BFFs though and she incourages him in his work and to date

-Bi

-many scars on his hands and arms from animals he tried to take home or help

-always has bandages on him to help an injured animal

-enjoys a good hard spirit after work

-normally skips one meal a day

-Always wanted a pet bird just for the laughs

honey: when your muse loves someone (whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial love), how do they show it? [Darceloix]

The wildwood scratched his cheek with a finger. "Let's see, familiar would be the easiest to talk about first. I treat my ma and pops once a week to some meat, freshly hunted by myself of course. About the only thing I know how to cook well. I also help with the chores when I visit. Tell 'em stories of my days and all too."

Arcel paused to think his next point, shifting upon the wood stump he sat on. "Platonic is what now? Friends?" He thought a moment more before nodding. "Guess I show it by putting up with their ideas even if I don't think it'll work. For them, I'll do it anyways. You bet I'll complain a little though." Arcel laughed. "Might work one day though and I'll be grateful."

The last subject had him gazing up at the sky. "I'd support them the best I can with my measly Quiver salary." A small smile appeared at that, amused, before falling. "Tell 'em how wonderful they are each day... and how lucky I am to have 'em. Fresh flowers everyday... or something." Arcel shrugged. "I don't know. Easier to know how I'll show it if I actually had someone ya know? This will be the best answer you can get from me for now."
