Dark Academia Activities

- Read. Read whatever you can find. Scour your house for books of all genres, even better if you can find classics, poetry, or philosophy. Stay up all night turning pages because you’ve been so sucked into a different world you cannot return to the one you live in.

- Annotate texts. Print out the lyrics to a song, or simply take a book and annotate it. Underline things you love or things you don’t know, pour all your thoughts onto the pages in messy scribbles and lines.

- Wonder. Simply wonder about anything you can think of. It could be about one of the greatest philosophical questions, or you could be trying to understand the character of someone you just met.

- Learn. Learn about what draws you in, going from book to book, website to website. Find our everything about what interests you, and write everything. Dive deep into ancient history others will pass off as boring. Spend hours researching the things people think are useless to learn.

- Write. Write the poetry that you can’t get out of your head. Write the words to a tune you created. Write a story of a great journey, an enchanting mystery. Even write about yourself in a journal, recording your everyday activities or your greatest secrets. Find beauty in words.
