#darkspine sonic is an emotional mess

thinking about chaos emeralds, anarchy beryl, and super forms. thoughts ended up kinda long so they’re under the cut

so... chaos emeralds. there’s 7 emeralds in 7 colors, and they have a pleasant aura around them that’s like a nice, calm rainbow. they amplify the user’s positive traits and can grant wishes, and leave people feeling just as good if not better than they did before they were used. they contain pretty much unlimited power and they never disappear, but they tend to warp away after they’re used. they’ve only been completely drained twice (afaik) and they could be restored afterwards. you know ‘em, we’ve seen them a lot, they’re nothing new, but they’re still pretty cool. supposedly there’s an 8th one that’s black, something something onyx, and then there’s the master emerald, which can amplify or negate the emeralds’ power / effects. i’d talk about the super emeralds but i don’t know anything about ‘em

then there’s the opposite, anarchy beryl. there’s a fuck ton of it all over moebius and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors, but mostly in small chunks. their auras are just as colorful as the chaos emeralds, but it’s chaotic and garbled, turning into an unpleasant multicolored mess with a strange blur effect. instead of being nice and good, they amplify the user’s negative traits and tend to make them violent, draining their energy almost to the point of death after they’ve burned out. maybe they can grant wishes, but i feel like you’d need a lot, and it may only be basic shit. they don’t contain a lot of energy on their own and once used, they sort of fizzle out and disappear. there isn’t any special big one that overrides all the other pieces, but there’s an exceptionally large chunk of it keeping moebius’ version of angel island in a protective air bubble beneath the sea, and the anarchy beryl in scourge’s crown and king maxx’s old throne is heavily refined and concentrated

we know what super sonic and super scourge are like when using their respective dimension’s magic rocks, but what about the reverse? chaos emerald super scourge would be a less ugly shade of purple and wouldn’t have those sonic.exe eyes, and surprisingly, it seems to ground him in an emotional sense. who needs therapy when you have magic rocks? on the other hand, anarchy beryl super sonic... he’s more like fleetway!super sonic, being much more violent and impulsive than usual. he also sort of draws from dark super sonic with a desire for revenge against anyone who fucks with him or his friends, and maybe a little darkspine with how it draws on negative emotions. this boy’s fucked up, someone needs to call knuckles to punch the emeralds out of him again
