Rick and Morty: A Guide to Every Voice Actor
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The world of Rick and Morty has grown to absurd proportions. The show spans multiple planets, galaxies, timelines, and multiverses, meaning there’s always an opportunity to meet strange new people and creatures.
As such, Rick and Morty’s voice cast has grown along with the adventures of its titular pair. While co-creator Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke have reliably voiced the central Smith-Sanchez family this entire time, the show also relies on a large crop of other voice actors. Some actors recur while others pop up only a time or two as very special guests. But all contribute to the rich aural tapestry of Adult Swim’s very ambitious animated series.
Gathered here is a list of (to the best of our knowledge) every voice actor who has popped up on Rick and Morty, who they played, and where you may have heard (or seen) them before.
Justin Roiland
Rick, Morty, Mr. Meseeks, Mr. Poopybutthole, Mr. Always Wants to Be Hunted
Justin Roiland is not just the co-creator of Rick and Morty but also the vocal engine for how much of the show sounds. Roiland portrays Rick, Morty, Mr. Meseeks, Mr. Poopybutthole, and countless other distinctively voiced characters in the show’s weird world. From the pilot on, Roiland’s tic-filled voice patterns have driven a lot of the humor behind the show.
Roiland has been an animator and a voice actor for quite a long time, getting involved with his eventual Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon and his Channel 101 imprint back in 2004. There he made Internet-only cult animated series like House of Cosbys, and 2 Girls One Cup: the Show. His voice was previously well known as Earl of Lemongrab (“Unacceptable!!!”) in Adventure Time.
Chris Parnell
Jerry Smith
Former SNL cast member Chris Parnell has had a prolific career in comedy both as a live-action and voice actor. Parnell is best known for playing Garth Holliday in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Dr. Leo Spaceman in 30 Rock, and many more roles in film and television. In the animation world he’s voiced characters on Archer, Robot Chicken, Gravity Falls, and beyond. His voice is often perfect for the “everyman” role and as such he has only been required to embody the sad form of Jerry Smith on Rick and Morty thus far.
Spencer Grammer
Summer Smith
The daughter of Kelsey Grammar, Spencer Grammar got her start as Casey Carywright on the ABC Family college dramedy Greek. Since then, she has done chiefly live-action work on shows such as CSI, Chicago PD, and Grey’s Anatomy.
Sarah Chalke
Beth Smith
Canadian actress Sarah Chalke brings two enormous roles from TV comedy’s past to her work on Rick and Morty. At first she was best known as the “second Becky” on ABC sitcom Roseanne. She would then go on to portray Dr. Elliot Reid for nine seasons of the classic Scrubs. Chalke is still chiefly a live-action comedic actress today but has done some more voice work in the past, including on Clone High and American Dad.
Kari Wahlgren
Jessica, Cynthia, Samantha, Mother Gaia
Kari Wahlgren works extensively as a voice actress for animated movies, TV shows, and video games. As evidenced by her character list above, she is often Rick and Morty’s go-to voice to portray one of Summer’s teenage peers.
Brandon Johnson
Mr. Goldenfold
Brandon Johnson is a familiar face and voice to Adult Swim audiences. He has previously popped up on NTSF:SD:SUV and American Dad. On Rick and Morty he voices Mr. Goldenfold, who is seemingly the only teacher at Morty and Summer’s school.
Phil Hendrie
Principal Gene Vagina
Philip Hendrie is best known for hosting The Phil Hendrie Show, a proto-Comedy Bang Bang-esque talk radio show in the 1990s where he portrayed both a fictionalized version of himself and many other wacky characters. He broke into animated voice acting in the late ‘90s, voicing dozens of characters on King of the Hill and popping up in Futurama as well. On Rick and Morty he plays the unfortunately named principal of Morty’s school.
Ryan Ridley
Frank Palicky, Lighthouse Keeper, Concerto
Ryan Ridley is a writer and producer on Rick and Morty, and like many of the show’s writers is sometimes called upon to lend his voice to a character or two. His best known creation is the Lighthouse Keeper on the Purge planet obsessed with his terrible screenplay. Ridley has also written for Ghosted, Blue Mountain State, and Community.
Rob Paulsen
Snuffles, Centaur
Rob Paulsen is a legendary voice actor best known for voicing two Ninja Turtles (Raphael and Donatello) and several Animaniacs characters. His filmography is truly impressive and includes the important role of Snuffles the Smith family dog on Rick and Morty.
Jess Harnell
Scary Terry, Ruben
Harnell is another Animaniacs veteran. After voicing Scary Terry and some additional voices in season 1, Harnell has yet to return to Rick and Morty.
Patricia Lentz
Joyce Smith
Patricia Lentz provides the voice of Jerry’s mom. She’s had a long, impressive career of live-action and voice acting with some highlights including Runaways, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Happy Days.
Dana Carvey
Leonard Smith
The voice of Jerry’s dad is provided by one of SNL’s better known alums in Dana Carvey. A master impressionist, Carvey was an important figure on SNL during the ‘80s and would go on to star in Wayne’s World, The Master of Disguise, and Trapped in Paradise. Shortly after his SNL career, he hosted The Dana Carvey Show, which did not last long but is notable in TV history for having an incredible cast of writers including Louis C.K. Charlie Kaufman, Jon Glaser, Robert Carlock, and frequent Dan Harmon collaborator Dino Stamatopoulos.
Echo Kellum
Jacob Philip, Brad, Triple Trunks
“I throw balls far. You want good words? Date a languager.” So sad that we had to leave Brad behind in C-137. Echo Kellum provides the voice of Brad and several other Rick and Morty characters.. Kellum is a UCB grad who has appeared in Key & Peele, Comedy Bang! Bang! and most notably Arrow as Mister Terrific.
John Oliver
Dr. Xenon Bloom
John Oliver now carries on the legacy of The Daily Show in his superb HBO news series Last Week Tonight. Prior to finding his perfect comedy news niche, Oliver had a lengthy comic acting career starting in his native England and extending into his new home in the U.S. Oliver previously played an important recurring role in Harmon’s Community and pops up just once on Rick and Morty.
David Cross
Prince Nebulon
David Cross is one of several sketch comedy legends who lent their voice to Rick and Morty as part of their lengthy careers. Cross created and starred in sketch series Mr. Show with Bob and David alongside co-creator Bob Odenkirk (how has he not popped up on Rick and Morty yet?). Since then he’s had a successful stand up career and been a part of some impressive TV ensembles such as Arrested Development.
Dan Harmon
Birdperson, Kevin, Mr. Marklovitz, Davin, Ice-T, Dr. Glip-Glop, Nimbus
Dan Harmon is the co-creator of Rick and Morty alongside Roiland. The two share a long history going back to the Channel 101 days. While both Roiland and Harmon are skilled storytellers, Harmon has truly delved into the science of story throughout his career. Harmon is best known for creating and showrunning Community, which became an onscreen sensation for fans and an offscreen nuisance for NBC due to Harmon’s at times difficult behavior. On Rick and Morty, Roiland and Harmon deploy Harmon’s deadpan delivery to good use, with him often playing monotone characters like the beloved Birdperson.
Tom Kenny
King Jellybean, Squanchy, Conroy, Million Ants, Etc.
Tom Kenny is an incredibly successful voice artist who you likely best know as none other than SpongeBob SquarePants. On Rick and Morty, Kenny’s roles are decidedly less wholesome than the sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. Kenny was a big factor in season 1 playing King Jellybean and Sqaunchy. He’s popped up sparingly in seasons 2, 3, and 4 as well, most notably as Million Ants of the Vindicators.
Cassie Steele
Tammy Gueterman, Tricia Lange
Somebody’s gotta play Tammy Gueterman, that traitorous monster. And that “honor” goes to Cassie Steele. Steele’s name is recognizable to Canadian (and some American) audiences due to her role as Manny Santos on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Rick and Morty was her first voice acting role. She will continue her voice acting career as the lead in Disney’s upcoming Raya and the Last Dragon.
Claudia Black
Mar-Sha/Ventriloquiver
Claudia Black has turned up on Rick and Morty twice, once in season 1 and once in season 4. It’s a surprise she hasn’t done so more often as she’s built up quite the voice acting career. After becoming well known in sci-fi series like Farscape and Stargate SG-1, Black continued on into a successful gaming career, providing her voice to Uncharted, Gears of War, and Dragon Age.
Maurice LaMarche
Morty Jr. Brad Anderson, Abradolf Lincler, Crocubot
Maurice LaMarche’s smooth baritone is quite familiar to many animation fans. LaMarche has voice acted in everything from Animaniacs to Futurama. He’s got a killer Orson Welles impression and that seems to be the starting point for many of his Rick and Morty characters.
Alfred Molina
Mr. Needful
Many of us know Alfred Molina from his incredibly successful film career in projects like Boogie Nights, Spider-Man 2, and The Da Vinci Code. But Molina has also had quite the career as a voice actor as well. In the past couple decades, Molina has lent his sturdy voice to Rango, Monsters University, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Frozen II, and more. He was clearly a shrewd choice for the Lucifer-like Mr. Needful. It’s a wonder why he hasn’t turned up on Rick and Morty more.
Richard Fulcher
King Flippy Nips
Richard Fulcher is best known as the unofficial third member of British comedy troupe The Mighty Boosh, though he himself is American. Fulcher wrote and acted in every incarnation of The Mighty Boosh. He has also had a prolific career in comedy acting outside the troupe. As of late, Fulcher has leaned into his voice acting abilities including this sadly one-off role on Rick and Morty as King Flippy Nips, ruler of Pluto.
Nolan North
Scroopy Noopers, Multiple Others
Nolan North has done extensive videogame work in franchises such as Uncharted, Assassin’s Creed, and the Arkham series. That’s right: the voice of shrimpy Plutonian Scroopy Noopers on Rick and Morty is both Nathan Drake and Desmond Miles. North also voices many other characters in positions of authority for the show.
Aislinn Paul
Nancy
Aislinn Paul is another Degrassi: The Next Generation alum who has broken into the voice acting world. On Rick and Morty, Paul plays only Nancy, Summer’s nerdy classmate who everyone is always mean to. Hopefully one day there will be justice for Nancy.
Alejandra Gollas
Lucy
Alejandra Gollas is a bilingual Mexican actress who has acted in films, TV shows, and stage productions for decades. Her only Rick and Morty role was that of creepy Titanic enthusiast Lucy.
Scott Chernoff
Revolio Clockberg Jr.
Originally referred to as “Gearhead,” Revolio Clockberg Jr. is one of Rick and Morty’s most recognizable recurring characters. Embodying this important role is veteran voice actor and TV writer Scott Chernoff. Chernoff has lent his voice to dozens of animated properties and has even written for many successful comedies including BoJack Horseman, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and School of Rock. He is one of many Channel 101 veterans involved in Rick and Morty and pitches in with some other background voices on the show here and there.
Keegan-Michael Key
Schleemypants
Keegan-Michael Key is likely best known as half of the ultra successful sketch comedy duo Key & Peele. (Wonder whatever happened to the other guy!) Key has had an enormously successful career as a comedic actor on television. On Rick and Morty he plays testicle-looking time cop Schleemypants.
Jordan Peele
Second Fourth-Dimensional Being
Oh, here’s Peele! Schleemypants’ unnamed partner is the only character Peele has played on Rick and Morty.
Jemaine Clement
Fart
New Zealand comedic actor Jemaine Clement is best known for being half of the Grammy award-winning comedic musical act Flight of the Conchords alongside Bret McKenzie. Clement has also worked extensively with fellow Kiwi Taika Waititi to produce recent classics like What We Do in the Shadows. His deadpan delivery was a perfect choice monotone gaseous being “Fart.”
Andy Daly
Krombopulos Michael
Krombopulos Michael is Rick and Morty’s Boba Fett: he looks cool but ultimately does nothing. Playing K.M. was one of the most sought-of “character voice actors” in the industry. Daly’s cheerful everyman delivery has proven useful on dozens of comedy shows across the entertainment landscape. Perhaps best known for his starring vehicle Review with Forest MacNeil, Daly has also lent his voice to series such as Harley Quinn, Bob’s Burgers, and Big Mouth. He can also be heard as a crucial role on Roiland’s Solar Opposites.
Christina Hendricks
Unity
Christina Hendricks is best known for her role as Joan Holloway on Mad Men. In addition to that, however, she’s appeared in quite a few genre films and shows like Firefly, Life, and The Neon Demon. Hendricks has done some voice work here and there and her only role on Rick and Morty to date is assimilation expert and one-time Rick Sanchez paramour Unity.
Patton Oswalt
Beta-Seven
Patton Oswalt is basically the dark matter of the comedy universe. He and his voice turn up just about everywhere. Perhaps his best known voice acting role is that of lead character Remy in Ratatouille. On Rick and Morty he has played only Beta-Seven thus far and is surely due for some more appearances.
Keith David
The President
Even if you’ve never heard of Keith David, you have surely heard his voice. An unmistakable baritone with gravitas, David has leant that voice to projects such as Gargoyles, Halo, and Spawn. David has worked with Harmon before on the final season of Community. Surely, there is no better voice for Rick and Morty’s unnamed President…or its Reverse Giraffe.
Kurtwood Smith
General Nathan
Not sure if you recognize Kurtwood Smith’s voice? You would if he called you a dumbass. Yes, Smith is best known to TV audiences as Eric Forman’s ornery dad Red on That ‘70s Show. He provides that same ornery spirit to the role of General Nathan on Rick and Morty in “Get Schwifty.”
Stephen Colbert
Zeep Xanflorp
Stephen Colbert is of course a longtime comedic actor, host of The Colbert Report, and now host of The Late Show on CBS. The Late Show understandably takes up most of his time nowadays but he was nice enough to portray the intelligent alien living inside Rick’s flying saucer’s Miniverse battery.
Nathan Fielder
Kyle
“The Ricks Must Be Crazy” has quite the star power among its voice cast. In addition to Colbert’s Zeep, the episode also introduces another Microverse populated by Kyle. Kyle is played by Nathan For You’s cringe comedy maestro Nathan Fielder.
Jim Rash
Glaxo Slimslom
Jim Rash is another frequent Dan Harmon collaborator, best known for his role as Dean Pelton on Community. Rash is an accomplished comedic actor and an Oscar award-winning screenwriter. He’s the perfect choice to play alien couples counselor Glaxo.
Matt Besser
Fungo
Matt Besser is an improv comedy specialist who is a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe. Over his long career, he’s appeared in just about everything. On Rick and Morty he portrays alien diplomat Fungo, who tries to convince Jerry to donate his penis to Shrimply Pibbles.
Werner Herzog
Shrimply Pibbles
Werner Herzog might be the strangest inclusion in the Rick and Morty voice canon. Herzog is a towering figure in the cinema world as a director, screenwriter, documentarian, and occasional actor. His German accent and generally serious and pessimistic disposition has made him a natural target for comedies looking to inject a bit of weird humor into the proceedings.
Chelsea Kane
Arthricia
Chelsea Kane has appeared in several TV series targeted to tween audiences like Disney Channel’s Jonas and Freeform’s Baby Daddy. Her brief role as the Purge planet’s Arthricia was a jumping off point to try more voice actor roles on shows like Hot Streets, Regular Show, and DC Super Hero Girls.
James Callis and Tricia Helfer
Pat and Donna Gueterman
James Callis and Tricia Helfer portray the parents of double-agent Tammy Gueterman for a very specific reason. Callis and Helfer are best known for their roles on Syfy’s classic series Battlestar Galactica, with Callis playing brilliant scientist (and traitor to humanity) Gaius Baltar and Helfer playing Cylon model Number 6. Pat and Donna Gueterman on Rick and Morty look just like the actors playing them, which should have been our first clue that something is amiss.
Nathan Fillion
Cornvelious Daniel
Who is Nathan Fillion if not nerd culture’s best friend? Fillion came into prominence by playing Captain Mal Reynolds on Joss Whedon’s beloved Firefly. Since then Fillion has had a solid career on shows like Castle and The Rookie. In his spare time, however, he provides his voice to animated series like Rick and Morty and Big Mouth, often playing a thinly-veiled version of himself. Cornvelious Daniel is notable for being the first character onscreen in Rick and Morty to enjoy that sweet, sweet McDonald’s Szechuan sauce.
Tony Hale
Eli
Tony Hale won two Emmys for playing the Vice President’s bagman Gary Walsh on Veep. Before that he was the youngest Bluth child, Buster, on Arrested Development. As of late, however, he’s getting more into the voice acting scene. You (or your kids) may best know him as the beloved Forky in Toy Story 4. But prior to that, he popped up as a cheery Mad Max-style biker named Eli on Rick and Morty.
Joel McHale
Hemorrhage
Joel McHale is, of course, another Community alum. He played lead character Jeff Winger on Harmon’s old NBC series. In addition to that, McHale has had a lengthy career in comedy, having hosted The Soup and Netflix’s recent Tiger King special. He was also a tight end of the University of Washington football team but that’s neither here nor there. He voices bucket-wearing post-apocalyptic warlord Hemorrhage on Rick and Morty.
Susan Sarandon
Dr. Wong
Perhaps no character on Rick and Morty has delved deeper into Rick’s psyche than Smith-family psychologist Dr. Wong. Lending her voice to Dr. Wong in the infamous “Pickle Rick” episode is legendary actress Susan Sarandon a.k.a the Louise in Thelma and Louise.
Peter Serafinowicz
Agency Director
Peter Serafinowicz is a British comedian and actor who used his role voicing Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace as a launching pad to befriend some truly talented creators and get some truly fascinating roles. Serafinowicz has popped up in Shaun of the Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Parks and Recreation, and more. He also portrayed the titular Tick in Amazon’s The Tick. His role in Rick and Morty is briefly that of a Russian villain agency director who tries to take down the ever-elusive Pickle Rick.
Danny Trejo
Jaguar
“Pickle Rick” really has quite the impressive guest voice cast. Danny Trejo joins Peter Serafinowicz and Susan Sarandon in lending his voice to this episode. Trejo plays Rick’s loose canon action hero ally, Jaguar. Outside of Rick and Morty, Danny Trejo may be one of the most recognizable faces in entertainment. A frequent collaborator of Robert Rodriguez, Trejo has leveraged his fascinating upbringing and tough guy appearance into countless roles.
Gillian Jacobs
Supernova
Another Community alum! Superhero team The Vindicators requires a lot of guest voice talent and clearly Dan Harmon knew one place to turn. Jacobs played Britta on Community (shes the worst). The Pittsburgh-born actress has also appeared in Girls, Don’t Think Twice, and Ibiza.
Christian Slater
Vance Maximus
Christian Slater is a big get for Vindicators leader Vance Maximus. While he’s best known to modern audiences as the titular Mr. Robot in Mr. Robot, Slater got his start as an actor with popular roles in movies like Heathers, Interview with the Vampire, and Broken Arrow. Slater has had a fruitful voice acting career as well, having previously played “Slater” in Archer.
Lance Reddick
Alan Rails
Alan Rails is another one of the hallowed Vindicators crime-fighting team. Playing the ghost train-summoner is Lance Reddick. Reddick has been a mainstay on television for decades, turning up in Oz, Fringe, Lost, and more. Most notably he played Cedric Daniels for the entirety of The Wire’s run.
Logic
Logic
Logic is one of the few Rick and Morty guest stars who gets to be an animated version of himself.  This Maryland-based rapper has released five successful albums and enlisted Rick and Morty to help promote his sixth mixtape Bobby Tarantino II.
Clancy Brown
Risotto Groupon, Story Train passenger
Talk about a guy with a commanding voice. Clancy Brown has been a successful actor for a long time, going back to his roles in Highlander, The Shawshank Redemption, and Lost. He’s undoubtedly best known to animation fans, however, as the voice of stingy Krusty Krab owner Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants. On Rick and Morty, he’s played alien restaurant manager Risotto Groupon and a Story Train passenger in season 4’s “Never Ricking Morty.”
Thomas Middleditch
Tommy Lipnip
Thomas Middleditch is likely best known to television audiences as overmatched tech tycoon Richard Hendrix on HBO’s Silicon Valley. That’s just the tip of the iceberg for Middleditch’s comedy career. The prolific improviser played Tommy Lipnip in Rick and Morty and must have impressed Justin Roiland enough to give him a lead role on his Hulu comedy Solar Opposites.
John DiMaggio
Multiple Minor Roles (Death Stalker, Leader, Knight, etc.)
John DiMaggio is an incredibly busy voice actor. If you’ve ever enjoyed an animated comedy, there’s a good chance DiMaggio contributed his voice to it. His best known roles include Bender on Futurama, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and Scotsman on Samurai Jack.
Sherri Shepherd
Judge
Sherri Shepherd is an actress, comedian, and TV personality best known for being a co-host on The View for seven years. Since then she’s turned up as an actress or talking head on many shows and lent her voice to portray a judge that deals with Morty in the season 4 premiere.
Sam Neill
Monogatron Leader
In addition to having one of the best Twitter accounts in the world, Sam Neill is also an actor best known for playing Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. The New Zealander has continued to work quite a bit in recent years, turning up in Thor: Ragnarok and Peaky Blinders. On Rick and Morty he plays the leader of the  Monogatron alien race in “The Old Man and the Seat.”
Taika Waititi
Glootie
Playing another Monogatron, this one named Glootie, is New Zealand actor/director Taika Waititi. Waititi got his start in the New Zealand comedy scene alongside other Rick and Morty guest star Jermaine Clement. Since then he has only gone on to become one of the most in-demand filmmakers on the planet. Waititi is behind Thor: Ragnarok, JoJo Rabbit, and an upcoming Star Wars film.
Kathleen Turner
Monogatron Queen
Kathleen Turner is what you would call a “get” for Rick and Morty. Turner has won two Golden Globe awards and been nominated for an Oscar and several Tony awards. She is best known for her roles in ‘80s movies Romancing the Stone, Prizzi’s Honor, and The War of the Roses. Turner has also been working as a voice actress since the ‘80s, voicing Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and going on to act in The Simpsons and King of the Hill as well.
Jeffrey Wright
Tony
Jeffrey Wright is no stranger to sci-fi, having toiled away as sad robot Bernard on Westworld for three seasons. Wright got three-quarters of a way to an EGOT in one role by playing Belize in Angels in America. Since then he’s acted in several Daniel Craig Bond films, Boardwalk Empire, and The Hunger Games. On Rick and Morty he plays the role of an alien who vexes Rick into an existential crisis by continuing to use his private toilet.
Elon Musk
Elon Tusk
Elon Musk is a South African/Canadian/American engineer and industrialist who serves as the founder and CEO of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, along with numerous other ventures. Presumably he did not call anyone behind the scenes of Rick and Morty a pedophile but you never know.
Justin Theroux
Miles Knightley
Justin Theroux has had quite the career in Hollywood. He first came to prominence acting in the David Lynch films Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire. He then continued to appear in major films while also writing some for good measure like Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2, and Rock of Ages. On television he played Kevin Garvey in HBO’s The Leftovers. For Rick and Morty, he played the role of “heist artist” Miles Knightly in “One Crew Over the Crewcoo’s Morty.” You son of a bitch, I’m in.
Pamela Adlon
Angie Flint
Pamela Adlon is the rare case of an actor who was first best-known for voice work breaking into the live-action arena in a big way. Adlon is best known for giving voice to Bobby Hill on King of the Hill, while also voice acting in other animated projects like Recess, and 101 Dalmatians: The Series. A longtime collaborator of Louis C.K. (though not so much anymore), Adlon appeared on FX’s Louie and got a well-received FX show of her own, Better Things. On Rick and Morty, Adlon portrays Angie Flint – a lock-picker who Rick recruits to his heist team.
Matthew Broderick
Talking Cat
Matthew Broderick is a longtime stage, film, and television actor best known for his roles on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, WarGames, The Producers, and much more. Most recently he turned up on Netflix’s sadly-departed post-apocalyptic comedy Daybreak. On Rick and Morty, Broderick plays a Talking Cat with a secret so heinous it will drive anyone to near insanity.
Liam Cunningham
Balthromaw
To portray the voice of a wizened dragon, Rick and Morty turned to an actor best known for a series filled with them. The Irish actor Liam Cunningham is known to most people as Ser Davos Seaworth from Game of Thrones. Though not usually a voice actor he must have enjoyed his role on Rick and Morty as he turns up again briefly in Roiland’s Solar Opposites.
Phil LaMarr
Multiple Minor Roles
The first two things most people (and by most people I mean me) think of when they think of Phil Lamarr are his time on Mad TV and the moment his head explodes on Pulp Fiction. But aside from sketch comedy and head explosions, LaMarr has had a remarkable voice acting career. He portrayed the title character in Samurai Jack while also providing his voice to Justice League, Static Shock, and countless video games. It’s surprisingly hard to figure out what voices Phil LaMarr plays on Rick and Morty but given his talents it’s certain to be quite a few.
Christopher Meloni
Jesus
When Rick and Morty briefly presented the savior of mankind in season 4’s sixth episode, surely there was only one choice to play him. Christopher Meloni has had one of the more fascinating careers in entertainment. After playing the deadly serious role of Elliot Stabler on Law and Order: SVU for years, Meloni has re-embraced his comedic side in projects like Happy!, Harley Quinn, while reprising his role in the Wet Hot American Summer franchise.
Paul Giamatti
Story Lord
Paul Giamatti once joked in a late night talk show interview that his role in any given heist or action movie would be the guy wearing a headset in a van, typing on a computer, and telling the hero to “get out of there, man!” He has since parlayed that character actor sensibility into a remarkable, multi-award-winning career. Giamatti is best known recently for portraying Chuck Rhoades on Billions and producing AMC’s Lodge 49. Prior to that he played lead roles in American Splendor, HBO’s John Adams, and much more. The guy has a good handle on stories and therefore makes perfect sense as Rick and Morty’s Story Lord.
Alan Tudyk
Chris, Observant Glorzo, Multiple Minor Roles
Alan Tudyk is a nerd culture mainstay. Very few comic-cons come and go without Tudyk involved in at least one project presenting within them. Tudyk has played Hoban “Wash” Washburne on Firefly and its spinoff movie Serenity, Mr. Nobody on Doom Patrol, and many more beloved characters. His live-action appearances are just the tip of the nerd iceberg, however, with Tudyk providing his voice to everything from Solo: A Star Wars Story (K-2SO) to Harley Quinn (Clayface/The Joker). On Rick and Morty, Tudyk plays several unnamed characters.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Rob Schrab
God
Rob Schrab is a Channel 101 veteran and longtime Harmon collaborator. Schrab is best known for his work as a director of projects like Monster House, Community, Parks and Recreation, and more. On Rick and Morty he plays none other than God…or at least the Zeus-like god of a remote planet.
Jim Gaffigan
Hoovy
Jim Gaffigan is a wildly successful standup comedian who co-created and starred in a TV show about his life for TV Land called The Jim Gaffigan Show. While he’s appeared sparingly in films, of late he’s dabbled in voice acting, lending his voice to Hotel Transylvania 3, Playmobil: The Movie, and Luca. His kindly Midwestern accent lends itself nicely to the helpful but doomed Hoovy on Rick and Morty.
Planetina
Alison Brie
Five seasons in and Rick and Morty is still finding old friends from Community to make their debut. Alison Brie played Annie Edison on Dan Harmon’s classic series. Since then she’s become quite the star, serving as a lead on GLOW and voice acting in BoJack Horseman and The Lego Movie 2. She even provided the voice of Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow in the video game Marvel Avengers Academy.
Steve Buscemi
Eddie
Steve Buscemi is a prolific and talented character actor known for his classic roles in Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, The Sopranos, and more. That he plays such a relatively minor role on Rick and Morty suggests that he might be a fan of the show and just wanted to stop by and say hey. Buscemi is also notable for being a New York firefighter prior to his acting life.
Christina Ricci
Princess Ponietta
Once known as a talented child actor, Christina Ricci has continued her creative work into adulthood. The actress has starred in films like Speed Racer, Black Snake Moan, and the upcoming fourth Matrix movie. Bless her for dropping by Rick and Morty only to play an CHUD horse-person princess pregnant with Rick’s heir.
Kyle Mooney
Blazen
Kyle Mooney is an SNL cast member and writer who specializes in offbeat characters and sketches. He also wrote and starred in 2017’s Brigsby Bear. His role hasn’t been officially confirmed on Rick and Morty yet but it seems as though he voices the Mortal Kombat-esque faux badass Blazen.

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
For two weeks now, the death of George Floyd, a black man killed by a police officer in Minneapolis, has gripped the nation, sparking nationwide protests calling for justice and changes to the criminal justice system. But this latest wave of demonstrations isn’t an isolated event. It’s part of a much larger movement, often grouped under the umbrella of Black Lives Matter, which has protested police killings and police misconduct since the early 2010s, after the shootings of Trayvon Martin in Florida and Michael Brown in Missouri.
In fact, research by Vanessa Williamson of the Brookings Institution and political scientists Kris-Stella Trump and Katherine Levine Einstein shows that the number of Black Lives Matter protests1 in response to police killings of black civilians has grown from only a few in a handful of cities in 2013 to over 500 protests in nearly 200 cities in 2014.
But what effect do these protests have?
Political science, it turns out, actually has a lot to say about protests, even though it’s really hard to pinpoint what makes one protest effective and another not. Broadly speaking, though, there are four main ways the literature tries to evaluate a protest:
Did it raise awareness?
Did public opinion change?
Were there institutional changes as a result?
Were there electoral consequences, either intended or unintended?
First, protests, at their most basic level, raise awareness about issues that might not yet be in the mainstream. This might not sound all that important, but research by political scientist Deva Woodly of The New School shows that protest movements can fundamentally alter the way we talk — and think — about a specific issue.
Examining the protest movements around the fight for marriage equality from 1994 to 2004, Woodly found that these movements succeeded in fostering a “common sense” of understanding around an issue by tapping into people’s sense of equality, relying on phrases like “love” and “regular people.”2 And in the case of the protests around Floyd’s death, that might mean changing how Americans talk and think about the disparate impact policing has on black communities and communities of color.
We don’t know yet how language around criminal justice and policing reform will change as a result of these protests, but there is some evidence that such shifts might be underway. Using Google Trends data comparing Google search behavior prior to and after May 25 — the day Floyd was killed — it does seem as if more individuals are interrogating racism in their own lives, with searches like “am I racist” nearly tripling. Phrases like “abolish police,” “defund police” and “police abolition” — concepts that have been central to the Black Lives Matter movement but less mainstream when discussing police reform — have also seen sharp upticks in interest.
What this tells us is that these protests are, in some way, raising awareness: People are seeking, or at least googling, more information.
In addition to increasing awareness of an issue, social movements can also change public attitudes toward it. This, of course, is hard to measure. But in at least some of the initial polling on Floyd’s death and the protests, we can see that public opinion is coalescing. An overwhelming majority of Americans, for instance, say that Floyd’s death was wrong and the police officers involved should be held accountable. Opinion around the protests is much murkier, even if most Americans are sympathetic to those protesting.
In studying how social movements change public opinion, Taeku Lee of the University of California, Berkeley found that protests can play a large part. His analysis of the civil rights movement in the 1960s found that though the protests weren’t initially popular, sentiment among nonsouthern white Americans moved from a sense of apathy to one of moral outrage. And in my own research of the civil rights protests, I found evidence of less racism and more support for affirmative action among white people from counties that had peaceful protests.
However, peaceful protests in other contexts — such as the anti-Vietnam War movement, the environmental movement and the Occupy Wall Street movement — have been less effective in moving public opinion. For instance, concern about the environment has stayed relatively stable despite growing activism. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly why these protests haven’t been as effective, but it’s important to remember that media coverage can go a long way in influencing how the public thinks about different protests.
One big unknown is whether media coverage of the violence associated with some of the current protests might end up undermining support for the broader movement. A recent study by Princeton University political scientist Omar Wasow suggests that could happen. In his examination of protests during the civil rights movement, he found that areas that saw violent protests reported an increase in President Richard Nixon’s vote share in the 1968 election. (Nixon campaigned heavily on a “law and order” message that some argued was a coded racist message to white America.)
Wasow’s study fits into a broader consensus that nonviolent protests tend to yield outcomes that achieve a movement’s goals better than violent protests do. But there is some research that pushes back on this. For instance, another recent study by political scientists Ryan Enos, Aaron Kaufman and Melissa Sands found that the 1992 Los Angeles uprising — a violent reaction to the acquittal of four police officers caught on camera beating Rodney King, a black man — didn’t spark a backlash. Instead, they found that the protests may have led to an increase in support for funding local public schools. Similarly, the Black Lives Matter protests following the killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner by police officers seemed to have led to decreased racial resentment among white Americans — especially among younger people — even though there was violence associated with some of the protests.
One important thing to remember here is that minority-led protests historically tend to draw more of a police presence than predominantly white protests, and the police are often more likely to use force against minority-led protests. So in many instances, the violence we may associate with these protests isn’t because these protests are inherently more violent; it’s because they draw more intense police contact to begin with. So if the research from the 1992 uprising and recent Black Lives Matter protests is any indication, it’s possible that violence in some protests may not entirely upend a movement’s goals.
There does seem to be some consensus in the literature that many protests are successful in spurring institutional change, at least at the federal level. As University of Pennsylvania political scientist Daniel Gillion has found, protests have tended to push legislators to vote more in line with protesters’ goals. The legislation that emerged from the civil rights movement is one such example, but Gillion also argues that the protests in 1968 pushed legislators to pass bills improving public housing infrastructure. Similarly, researchers Maneesh Arora, Davin Phoenix, and Archie Delshad, then of the University of California, Irvine, found that after the 2014 Black Lives Matter protests, state governments proposed and passed more bills aimed at addressing police accountability. And political scientists Logan Dancey and Jasmine Masand, then both of Wesleyan University, found that in Congress, black legislators engaged with online discussions of race and policing more frequently than their white colleagues.
Protests don’t just impact legislation. Megan Ming Francis, a political scientist at the University of Washington, has written extensively about how protests and civil rights organizations like the NAACP have effectively applied political pressure to the courts. For instance, Francis describes how the NAACP simultaneously fought to change public opinion at the grassroots level while also bringing lawsuits to combat lynching, segregation and Jim Crow-era laws in the courts.
More broadly, this research underscores all the ways in which protests are often viewed as a political resource that allows marginalized groups to amplify their voices when traditional methods, such as voting, might not adequately represent their preferences.
And finally, though protests may often be thought of as a last resort, they can also have important downstream consequences for elections. Wasow’s work and my own research shows that large, peaceful protests during the civil rights movement actually helped Democratic presidential candidates — a finding that Gillion and Stanford’s Sarah Soule have observed in more recent protests as well.
But of course, as we also know from Wasow’s research, protests can have unintended consequences — i.e., more violent protests corresponding with an uptick in Nixon’s presidential vote share — so it’s not entirely clear what effect these protests will have on the general election. On the one hand, they could mobilize the Republican base — although there are reasons why this might not be the case.
If the party tries to meet protesters’ demands, the protests could also mobilize the Democratic base. Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden and others seem to have begun to take action, although it’s still unclear where the conversation around police reform may head next.
However, it’s also possible that the effects of these protests will be minimal come November. It’s still too early to know what institutional changes or electoral consequences might result, but whether there will be an effect — including substantive legal action at the local, state and federal levels — is a real question.

As daughter to the king, there was no known way around being what she was. Yes, princess, but more so, an object. A thing to be sold off for the sake of bettering the kingdom. She was nothing more than a token. A prize for some lucky man to show he had the king’s favor, a trophy to be toted about. Men will always stay boys, at heart, and when one of them has something good, they all want it.
Aemelia could scrub at her skin for only so long. She has started by simply washing dried fluids away from her inner thighs, revealing the smooth milky skin below. She would have continued if not for the sight of her own blood rising to the surface. Her tears had long since ceased, and she felt her heart grow cold. After having been forced down to the floor of her bedchamber by her own protector, then to have him force himself into her, to feel her own femininity tear at his presence, unwelcomed within her. No man who calls himself a knight would have done such a thing, or so she thought.
As she rose from the water, a familiar voice drifted through her chamber door. "Lady Elwood," Roe spoke softly, barely cracking it open. "May I come in, my lady?"
"You may, darling." Aemelia spoke equally as gently, though not for the sake of her handmaiden. She was still too afraid to make a single sound, afraid any noise passing her lips would transform into sobbing once more, or worse, screaming.
"Your knight, Davin. He seems off, my lady. I startled him attempting to get his attention, he went quite pale and attempted to keep me from seeing you." Just as she finished speaking, she closed the door behind her. "Did something happen, my lady? Normally he's much more stoic."
Roe and Aemelia locked eyes in the reflection of the mirror of her wash chamber, and Roe saw the state she was in. Tearstained, bloody, bewitching opal eyes stained red from sobbing, and her hands were quaking. Composed just enough to sit at her vanity, she wrapped herself one of her finest robes like she had been a thousand times before. Instead of powerful and graceful as her usual self, she looked broken and frail. In an instant, Roe was to her side, gently taking one of her hands between her own. "My lady, tell me. If he hurt you, I care not what your heartless father does to me, I will disembowel that soulless bastard standing outside your door right now.” The maid always carried a blade, by both order of the king and the princess. While unconventional, King Richard was a paranoid man, and wished his daughter to have many protectors, especially unlikely ones. None would suspect her handmaiden to join a fray to protect her, which made it perfect.
"As much as that would comfort me, dear Roe, I need you beside me more than I need that man dead right this instant." The coldness in her tone took the handmaiden by surprise, but not much of one. It wasn’t the first time she had heard the princess speak so harshly of others. "Besides, what he does not know is Father has arranged for me to wed a Lord of a neighboring land, to form an alliance through our betrothal. Please, he has told me I can bring someone to accompany me, so I do not feel like a stranger in a foreign land. You are to come with me, not Davin."
"Of course, my lady."
"Do not call me that in private, my sweet. Just Aemelia. We grew up together, darling, and while Father hates it so, you are not simply my handmaiden, you are also my friend." Her eyes pleaded, and Roe could feel her need for someone to trust now more than any time before. “If he hadn’t have wanted us to be so close, he shouldn’t have had us grow up together, and he definitely shouldn’t have given you a blade to defend me by.” She chuckled gently, clutching Roe’s hand. "If you're truly my handmaiden, and my handmaiden alone, you surely should do as I say, not what my Father says. If he wished for my handmaiden to listen to him more, he should have chosen one of his loyal maidens to watch over me instead. You’re no pawn of my Father’s, nor will you ever be. I refuse to let him make you do as he pleases all the time when you were assigned to my side." Aemelia stood, switching their hands so that hers embraced Roe's even more securely, continuing in a whisper.
"I do request a favor though. I know your brother is in a band of men who do some quite unsavory things, yes? Since you and I are to leave tomorrow morning, could you send your brother a letter tonight asking he and his men dispatch of Davin in a slow and painful way? They can have all his armor and goods too, if you let them know where his personal quarters are. Make it seem like Davin never existed, in short."
Roe grinned wide. "But of course, they can easily arrange such a disposal. I'm sure they'll happily do it just to sell his belongings overseas for a pinch of gold or fancy blades. I will stay awake tonight writing and sending the letter and watching over you until we leave. My brother and the band of mutts he works with will likely be here by dawn. I will inform them we are to leave before they act, so we may see men watching our departure."
"Good. I want that tarnished knight jealous first. Imagine his face as he sees the woman he defiled night prior is being gawked at by men from faraway seas during her departure! Such beautiful agony as he’s left here to die." Aemelia giggled with glee, slowly standing on shaking legs to walk to her wardrobe.
Roe nodded, and quickly prepared parchment, ink and two quills at the vanity, but was enchanted staring into the mirror, watching Aemelia change to a sleeping gown. As the princess finished, Roe scurried, handing a sheet to Aemelia, and gently pressed a quill into her fingers. "Write down every little thing you want him to feel. I'll send it with mine, that way the men know exactly what vengeance they should enact for you." She smiled gently at Aemelia, then kneeled beside her and took up her own quill, dipping it. "Seeing as recently my brother has become the head of the scoundrels, he'll easily be able to ensure that it will happen, though I’m sure his status would matter much- with the promise of such fine goods, those scoundrels will do anything you ask."
Aemelia smiled gently, teary eyed. "Thank you, Roe. If this marriage goes as planned and I eventually take to the throne, I'll forgive him and all his men of their crimes, both as thank you to you and him." She began to quickly scribble on her paper. Writing to anyone else, she'd take her time to make it legible, but she had no worries about that now. A band of delinquents wouldn't care about a princess' penmanship if they were more excited for all the things they may get to keep. That, and the man who would be reading it knew her since they were but children- all that would matter to him was that she wrote at all.
"Him and his men would care not either way if they were forgiven or not if you permit them to his goods. Again, they're used to being a band of shunted lost boys, they simply want treasure. The favors of a princess do them no good." Roe began to tear up. "Although, it would be nice to spend time with my brother without having to hide away from the public. He used to be so fun to accompany at festivals."
"Then I will forgive them for you, and spoil them with the finest foods and riches, and a festival in their name. " Aemelia hunched over her parchment, scribbling furiously, and the shoulders of her gown slid, revealing a mixture of porcelain smooth and scabbing skin. "Roe, are you excited to see your brother?"
"Likely not as excited as you, ‘my nightshade dryad.’" Roe quietly used the childhood nickname her brother called her, and watched as all of Aemelia's body relaxed at the sound of it, both of them chuckling. "Last I remember, you two were but 7 and 9, and he's likely going to make his men run all through the night to be here in time. He's never let his princess down yet." Both women chuckled again, and Aemelia closed her eyes, thinking of all the good times they had spent before he left.
"Thank you, Roe. If you need a weapon-"
"Yes, 'Melie, I know where they are. I plan on keeping your brother's sword by my side all night. May he not rest peacefully on this night, I may need the strength of his spirit to protect you." She stood from the writing desk, climbing up on Aemelia's nightstand, reaching into a hidden hold in the wall behind a group of loose bricks, revealing a sheathed narrow longsword.
"Let us hope not. May my brother stand beside us in battle if we must fight and guide your brother through safe water and swift wind."
Roe nodded and took to writing back at the desk quickly, glittering decorated sheath adorning her hip. Aemelia stood, and went to lie in her bed, exhausted.
"Yes, 'Mel. Return to your bed and ger some rest- you will need your strength tomorrow."

The fresh dusk light danced through the sheer curtains of Aemelia's windows, and they fluttered about the room gently to the light breeze. She awoke slowly, finding Roe sleeping softly wrapped in blankets on the floor. Though Roe was asleep, she still felt an odd safeness.
Aemelia quickly realized two things; They never opened her window last night before they both began to settle and rest before their morning trip, and that there was someone else in the room. The second was only brought to her attention by the glittering of silver and lapis in the darkest corner of her chambers. She knew the blade well; she had owned it once before.
"Lyvell. You're quite a quick man." Aemelia sat up, quickly holding her sheets to her chest upon realizing she was nude, unwilling to reveal herself to him. She must have removed her gown in her sleep, or Roe had, as it at folded neatly on her desk nearby, and her wounds were bandaged. "It's been quite some time since I've last seen you."
"That means I'm good at what I do if the kingdom's most observant people watcher hasn't seen me in years." He stood slowly and walked almost silently to her bedside. “I’ve been around quite frequently, keeping an eye on you both. Figures though, one of the few times I’m out you needed me most.” If she did not know any better, she'd had thought him to be a ghost with how the hem of his coat flowed behind him. He crouched beside her, smiling softly. “I’m sorry, sweet nightshade.”
She reached out, gently grasping his hand with a smile. "You got our letters I presume. Otherwise, you would not be lurking in my bedchamber."
He gave a small chuckle and held up the parchments. "You presume correctly, Aemelia. I also hope you presume we are stationed about the castle grounds, waiting to begin with our plan the moment you ladies are out of the kingdom limits." Before she could reply, he spoke again. "What you do not know is that my men and I also have a way of getting people to do what we want. We will get him to confess to your father what he did. Knowing your father, he will demand a public execution, and as he takes care of that, we will steal his remaining identity- every single item that belonged to him, gone from this kingdom and shipped overseas to a friend, of my men and I. Humiliated by the king, his family put to shame, and hung to die slow as he sees us walk away with the last shred of his existence. Though, you have provided us an excellent list of ways to be had with him first, so we may get to that beforehand." His smile was twisted, full of malice, and exactly what Aemelia had hoped for from him.
Aemelia smiled softly at him. "Good. I hope in exchange this lovely 'friend' of yours will supply you some fine blades."
"Along with fine gowns made in and of the far-off lands, for you. These tokens of his are all worth quite a substantial amount of gold, they will easily send a few of their finest garments for you as thanks for this."
"Then I'll accept these thanks if they make sure not a single speck of him returns. His body dies here, his life can die there." She smiled wide and began to stand, wrapping herself in the sheet as she walked to the grand wardrobe of her chambers. "Now, if you wouldn't mind staying, Lyvell, I feel quite safe with you here, and Roe needs rest. I don't want that heathen to come in here and try again with me defenseless."
He grinned and nodded before throwing himself into her bed, lounging back comfortably where she had one lay. He had never been allowed to so much as touch such an extravagant bed, he was going to make the most of the invitation to stay. "I will also be stealing something of yours you leave behind, Aemelia. I would like to keep something of you as a memory for how kind you've always been to such a wicked man as I."
Hearing that, she stopped looking through her wardrobe, and turned to look at him. He had an honest look in his eyes, something a man like him doesn't have often. She walked over, slowly letting the sheet slip and lie on the floor as she reached behind her own neck to remove her necklace. A polished onyx sphere enclosed in a glass vial, strung on a cord of braided leather. Quite a masculine trinket for a princess to have, but she loved it so dearly- they were all little bits of far more extravagant trinkets she had owned as a child.
Any other man would hesitate, staring at the sight of the princess in all her glory, but it took Lyvell all his strength to not storm into the hall and ruin their plan, to beat down the man in the armor who stood just outside the door unknowing to the rage of a seadog that bubbled just inside. Seeing the red stains and scabs on her inner thighs, waist, chest, the sight of her like this made him angry. In this moment, he wasn’t looking at the princess, but his dear friend. Her beauty meant nothing in the eyes of someone only worried of her injuries; He knew why they were there, and he felt he had failed her even though he had no way of knowing what would happen in his absence.
"Then I wish to return this favor." He steadied his hands and gently took the trinket, wrapping the cord around his wrist, the vial dangling lightly against his wrist guard. He then moved to take on of his many necklaces off. It looked much more beautiful than the one she gave him, and it was much more valuable. It was a large, raw ruby hung from a silver chain. "It was the first thing I ever stole. Right from a sleeping woman's neck as she slept, here in this very kingdom. I'm sure it would look beautiful on you, my lady."
She smiled, sitting beside him in bed. He sat there still for a moment before he realized she wished for him to put it on her. He made quick work of it, fearful to draw any closer. Not many women wanted him even in the same room, let alone clasping their necklaces.
When he was finished, she fiddled with the ruby as she walked back to her wardrobe to get dressed and begin gathering her favorite gowns. "Oh, and don't feel you can't steal anything of mine I leave behind. If I leave it, it's not important enough to keep, and I'm sure my trinkets are much more valuable. Send them to your friend too, see what else he may send you and your men in exchange."
"Yes, m'lady. Anything of that bastard will be sold to end his memory here, and anything of yours will be stored away for my men to give to ladies they love. It seems much more appropriate that someone with such a big heart as yours will leave behind things to continue the love for others." Lyvell stared out the window, trying to hold back an honest smile.
"I'm glad. I'm sure much of my jewels and gowns would make many women very happy. To me, they've become trivial. Unless I have a sentimental attachment, I will be leaving it. Sell it, give it to your men, keep it for yourself, I care not. I only wish it goes somewhere else and doesn't sit in this room collecting dust."
He stood for just long enough to curtsey. "As you wish." Lyvell flopped back onto the bed happily, knowing that he would absolutely be finding a way to take it, no matter how long it took. It was too comfortable to become a dust-covered remnant of her life here when he could easily sleep in it until it collapsed beneath him.
The morning bell rung, and the suddenness of the loud noise caused Aemelia to jump. It was finally 6.
Roe awoke with a start, quickly surveying the room. Upon seeing nobody but Aemelia, she too her time to stretch and yawn before standing. "I see my brother never made it?"
"No, he's..." As Aemelia spun, she saw no-one but Roe, the curtains pulled to flutter out the window her only sign he had left. "No. He’s likely busy with the plan."
Roe nodded, simply accepting what Aemelia had said. If Roe knew he had just left, she would be distraught he didn't wake her to say goodbye. She began helping Aemelia gather the things she wished to take, then strapped the late prince's sword to her hip. "Oh, would you rather have this instead of me, m’lady? I'm sure you would feel much safer with a weapon."
Aemelia nearly said yes before she noticed a black ribbon dangling from a drawer of her desk. Walking over and tugging on it, a dagger made of pure jade followed it out. ‘A parting gift from a dirty seadog’ was written on a parchment wrapped around it. "No, Roe, I believe you would do much better with his sword. Besides, it’s not becoming of a princess to carry something like that. I’ll carry this instead." She tied the ribbon around her neck, having the foot and a half jade dagger proudly on display against her chest, the stone smooth against her revealed skin. With a slight nod, they made their way out the door. Another guard was stood there, just as Aemelia had said, and it was a weight off both their shoulders. They were meant to leave at 10, but Aemelia had begged her father to make it earlier ‘to make a good impression to this Lord.’
As they settled in the cart, Aemelia caught a glimpse of a familiar set of eyes among the crowd, scruffy hair set out from under the hood of his cloak. It took her but a moment to realize it was a rough hooded cape fashioned out of a dark satin bedsheet of her own, and she was unsure how he made it so fast and how he had even gotten the sheet. Nevertheless, it seems that no matter how dark the cover, his jewels sparkled like starlight on his throat. Yet she didn't stare at them, she caught herself instead staring deep into his eyes. With a wink from the gold and honey gaze, she suddenly felt safer than she had felt in her life.
In a blink, he was gone. She dusted her fingers across the dagger set on her chest, mourning the friend she'll be leaving behind here. Though, she knew he'd be wherever she needed him whenever she called, it was sad to see him here, in their homeland, knowing she'd be departing instead of him this time.
Roe shook her from her trance. "We're to be off, M'lady. Is there anything else to be done before we do so?"
"N-No." Aemelia steeled herself, fighting down the burning sensation in her throat. "Even if I think of anything once we leave, I don't wish to come back. I'll be able to replace all I leave, if I want to, and if I forgot to do something, then it seems it wasn't important enough to be remembered."
"Very well." Roe leaned out the side of the cart and said something to the cart drivers. With that, they were off.

Dirty scene
Rough draft dirty scene ABFIL
"I want you, Silas."
He stood confused, searching her face for a clue. "Want me for what, Aemelia. What can I help with?" When she began to fidget with her rings, he became worried. She was normally so level headed, calm, stoic; the nervousness worried him.
"I need you." Still, he was confused. Need was a strong word for her, and she had never truly needed him before for anything.
"Aemelia, I don't seem to underst-" Suddenly, it clicked. "You- Do you mean to say you-"
Impatient, she finished his thought, standing her ground like she was commanding the man. "Silas, bed me." She hadn't been quiet. The boldness startled him, especially at such a statement. He nearly jumped, glancing around to be sure none had heard it, and closed their distance in a few strides, mind racing.
"If someone had heard- Damn you, woman." He chuckled under his breath, shaking his head. "Why, my dove? Even after so long, with what happened I'd never want to-"
"Do you not want me?"
"N-No! I do, darling, but if I hurt you-"
"You won't." Such confidence, such faith. Her trust in him worked magic on him, as it always did, but in this context it was more than swirls of emotions in his chest. Something darker stirred deep within now.
He glanced about again- a few other people in the hall, but none had so much as looked their way. I suppose it was unsurprising seeing them like this, standing awkwardly close yet too far to feel intimate. Gently freeing her hands from one another, he led her by one to a nearby door, slipping them both inside discreetly before just nearly closing the door, the light from the hall leaving just barely enough to see by. He turned to her, his own nerves turning to panic.
"Aemelia, my snowfox, are you sure of these feelings? I wouldn't want you doing anything you wouldn't want, nor would I want to partake in hurting you if you're just insisting this for my sake." His hands trembled in hers. The thought she could be forcing herself to ask him of this, to take her, terrified him to his core.
Silas felt his lungs seize to a stop when he felt her gentle hand against his cheek. "Then allow me to show you?" All he could do was nod, transfixed as he caught glimpses of the slender fingers on her free hand freeing the laces to her gown. Even in the dark, he found himself staring as the garment began to slide, but with a single hand, she held it just enough to reveal the curves of her upper breasts, slender shoulders, and porcelain chest. If she let it slide much further, the buds of her nipples would be revealed to him too, but she did not. Instead, she simply watched his expression, drinking in his awe.
"Lord Silas Thourne, Lord of the house Thourne, Lord to the lands of Holdenfrost, next king to the throne of Gildrhyne and betrothed to the Princess Elwood..." His skin felt like it was humming at the last title, and his breath caught up in his throat once more. "Bed me."
In that instant he tugged her dress from her grasp with one hand, letting it fall to the floor, only for his hands to soon dance along the newly freed skin as if to cover her all at once again. She gasped as they quickly found their places; One gently cupped her chin to tilt her head to a deep kiss while the other laid claim to the curve of her ass, insistent on lifting her in one arm. Much to Silas' surprise, she obliged, giving a small bounce and allowing him to hoist her, wrapping her legs awkwardly around his waist as he slowly moved them to a table, desperate to not slip.
He was almost hesitant to set her down, for fear she'd change her mind the moment he let go. He could already see she was becoming uncomfortable, eying the door with a shaky hand covering her chest. Despite that, he continued.
"Princess Aemelia Elwood, heiress to the throne of the kingdom Gildrhyne, betrothed to Lord Silas of house Thourne... You taste delicious." She relaxed a bit with a soft chuckle. He slid a hand down her waist, a thumb exploring the outside of her silk intimates.
"And if I told you I wanted to taste you here," His fingers softly caressed her lips through the fabric. "Would you welcome it? Or shy away with crossed legs?" Pushing them aside slowly, he was able to rub against her bare skin. "Would these soft petals bloom for me? Would your nethers weep against the feel of my kiss down here?"
She choked back a moan as a finger ever so slowly sunk in. "I would, but Silas please..." Aemelia watched the crack in the door like a hawk, all senses focused on the quiet noise of footsteps down the hall. "Someone could-"
With a curl of his finger, she was back to biting her lip to stifle her own noises. "My darling snowfox, they'll only know we are here if you get too loud. This is my study, after all. Unless someone plans to steal from me, there is no reason for them to come in here." He was gently stroking her inner walls and she couldn't help but find herself melting into his touches.
Even with it all moving so quickly, he took his time with her. Gentle, slow, loving- Silas wanted to savor this moment, but it wasn't nearly enough. He wanted to hear her, see her in the throws of bliss as he showed her how making love was meant to feel, not what that pathetic excuse of a knight led her to believe.
He still wore his mantle from when he was outside the walls, amongst the snow. He hadn't had the chance to take it off before Aemelia stopped him in the hall. Slowly, with accurate and calculated moves, he both removed his finger from Aemelia, resisting the urge to plunge it back in upon her whimper in protest, and began to unfasten his cloak and mantle. Seeing his plan without him having to utter a word, she helped, making quick work of it with her slender fingers.
He then swiftly whipped it from around his shoulders and bundled her in it, lifting her in his arms, and began to walk out, only stopping to pick up her dress from the floor, which Aemelia quickly pulled into the furs around her with a giggle.
She grabbed the edge of the door as they slipped out, closing it behind them before Silas hurried them to his chambers, his woman curled to his chest staring up at him. "Silas, my timberwolf, what do you have planned for us tonight?"
"My darling snowfox, I have been imagining this night since I first met you, content it stayed just that; imagination." He chuckled, but the noise came out deep, gruff, and hungry. "Now that I may truly have you, I have more planned than just a single night. We may not sleep for a fortnight."
"That sounds fine to me, my Lord." She giggled back, like ringing bells. He could feel that urge boil up deep within again, and he felt himself strain against his armor. He was almost painfully hard.
Gonna remove all the armor bullshit. It's cold there, he could have just worn the mantle and cloak to stay warm, and is now striding about in linens, maybe some leathers...
"Keep this up, we won't make it to my chambers, darling. I may take you right here for all to see." A threat in jest, but he nearly fell when she spoke next, tripping on his own feet.
"That's also quite alright by me. I do not want to wait for you much longer, Silas." She smiled wide up at him, and he could feel his face flush red at her comment. He had assumed it was simply jesting back, until he felt slender fingers had slid out of the shawl and danced up his wrist. "I was nervous of people seeing us for your sake, but if you truly wish to take me here, I do hope that both your walls are sturdy enough and your company enjoys the show."
Thankfully, he had made it to his chambers with her by that moment, and threw the doors open quickly, tossing her on the bed and turning away just long enough to close and lock the door. "Damned woman... For that comment alone, I demand revenge."
"For what?" She laughed again, a flush filling her cheeks and chest.
"For the strain on my sword as it aches to be sheathed." He smiled, but darkly, unfastening his armor quickly as he strode back over. Her laugh quickly died, leaving just a smile and a deeper blush.
Again, this fkn armor bullshit is just in the way of the story, unnecessary, and makes it hard to write… fk this stuff.
Until now, he hadn't seen her naked body in true lighting. She had been holding the fur mantle about her chest, but as she stood, she released it. What he hadn't noticed with all her wiggling in his arms was what she had been doing, but now it finally struck him. She stood before him fully bare, scarred pale skin fully displayed.
Without stopping on haphazardly removing his armor, he shoved as much as he could off the moment they became loose, and was left in just his leathers. She could sense his urgency, his need to be free of it, and helped him make quick work, though even as fast as she was assisting him it felt agonizingly long, staring as her nimble fingers loosened buckles and shoved away the last layer of padding.
In the next heartbeat, he had her on the bed again, nothing between them but his loose linen shirt and pants. She had to leave these, as he felt too much time had already been spent on him. They could be pulled off gracelessly in a moment's notice. Aemelia deserved attention at this point, he felt, but as a hand pressed so softly to his chest, he froze.
"Please, Silas. I know it's difficult, but I would appreciate it if you slowed yourself."

No one understands Cats When Women Reach A Certain Age They Start To Collect This Is Known As The Many Paws T-shirt . the power of camp quite like Lady Gaga. Though the Oscar winner switches her style at the drop of a pink-brimmed hat, many of her greatest moments on the red carpet have involved deliberately tongue-in-cheek fashion. As one of the hosts of this year’s Costume Institute gala, Gaga can be expected to arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night wearing something that pushes beyond the boundaries of good taste. But she’s had years of practice making the runway’s campiest creations work.Once you’ve worn meat dresses and steampunk goggles, nothing is off-limits. Yet Gaga has managed to make even the most outlandish outfits feel approachable. Sure, her legions of Little Monsters may not run out and dress in head-to-toe Gareth Pugh or custom Moschino, but seeing her at her kookiest serves as an inspiration for all.Cats When Women Reach A Certain Age They Start To Collect This Is Known As The Many Paws T-shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

There’s hair and makeup magic involved, sure, but there’s also her adorable dog, Chili, who stays by her side and calms her nerves ahead of any event that involves stepping in front of the cameras. Last night in New York, Waterhouse did just that for the premiere of her new film Pokémon Detective Pikachu and Chili was, once again, with her during the prep process at the Bowery Hotel. Also soothing: the fact that she had a spectacular dress to wear, one designed by Richard Quinn. Of the full-skirted floral gown embellished with a giant black bow, Waterhouse explained that she “had Pokemon in mind,” when choosing the ensemble. “Bellsprout of the Ball,” she says jokingly, referring to the globular-shaped flower creature from the Pokémon franchise. “I also love wearing British designers too,” the London native added. “I’ve been wanting to wear Richard Quinn for ages.”In the days leading up to the premiere, Waterhouse says that she “had an Iván Pol Beauty Sandwich facial,” and “spent a couple of hours in the bath watching Mubi and drinking hot chocolate right before getting dressed.” Her routine also included a hair scrub, courtesy of Davines, as well as a Barbara Sturm mask. Between the beauty regimen and playtime with Chili, Waterhouse managed to snag a moment of peace before the chaos of the big night. She notes that she tends to get anxious on the red carpet and will start singing or “doing a nervous laugh.” By the looks of her laid-back getting-ready routine, however, you’d never know it. Above, Waterhouse shares images from last night’s premiere: pup, Richard Quinn gown, and all. You Can See More Product: https://storet-shirt.com/product-category/trending/ Read the full article
