the first and second (manga) version of soukoku meet-cute has switched/mirroing POVs; which is why we see Chuuya's "you dare, punk?" expression and Dazai's cold smile in the first one and Chuuya's feral toothy grin in the second one; I'm choosing to believe the first one is more in Chuuya's point of view, and the second more in Dazai's. It also kind of reflects in artstyle too - the first is more somber and serious, the second is more goofy but also more morbid.

#god actually hates me and would never do this for me but we’re not talking about that right now #but this is such an interesting take #i think from ages 15 to 16 chuuya saw dazai as a sort of threat (??) idk if that’s the right word i can’t think right now #but he just thought dazai was evil #it wasn’t until the end of stormbringer that chuuya began genuinely caring for dazai and saw him as more than that #an actual friendship/partnership began to build #but dazai came to care about chuuya faster than chuuya came to care about dazai #dazai was shown doing caring/soft gestures for chuuya throughout stormbringer #so his care for him probably developed at 15 #maybe when chuuya helped dazai realize that he wants to give living a chance #(????)#if what you’re saying is right #then i think it’s a good reflection of how they saw each other at the time #idk if this has anything to do with the point you were making idk maybe i’m dumb but you’re absolutely right anon you’re so smart mwah
