Until they explicitly say otherwise, Adam is 100% not a romantic affair partner, it's a business affair partner. Literally every conversation between Fisk and Vanessa is about business. Even her day dreaming is about the business! (I could have laundered so much money, Wilson). He's punishing her for something she did in the business.

That toast DID NOT feel the way Matt wanted it to feel. Did you see the way his face dropped when Heather added Foggy to the toast? He didn't look touched or moved or happy. He looked sick and hollow. Because he has a void he hasn't emotionally dealt with! Get therapy, Matt!

Oh, and Frank's gonna be piiiiiissed about that ending

Jumble of thoughts, Side Character Palooza edition!

Everyone's mad at everyone! Heather, Cherry, and Kirsten are mad at Matt! Kirsten's mad at Cherry! Luca's mad at Fisk! Daniel's mad at BB!

Matt, STOP using sex as a distraction, please, I beg of you. It's sexy but it's unhealthy. Also: holy crap, he flat out said it to Heather!! His life feels fake. He quickly followed it with an "uhh not u tho sweetie, ilu <3" but like, wee all know that's not true. Goodness.

Everything out of Fisk's mouth makes me laugh. He's so absurd. "Blue collar millionaires", gtfo of here. And his little rant about "Daredevil beat up my friends 😡😢", like he didn't murder many MANY people over those first 10 years of business.

Detective Kim remains the MVP of the current police roster. She got that Muse ID so damn fast and she didn't need to be part of Fisk's task force to do it. ("Thin dark line protecting the city" BARF)

Meanwhile Matt is just rubbing his DNA all over active crime scenes. Just how much of his blood is in that lair, do you think?

Once again, to my ultimate dismay, Kirsten gets little to no screentime. Ugh. She does seem pretty close to fed up and firing Matt from the firm, though, which would honestly be deserved.

What game are Vanessa and Wilson playing? Was she playing Luca in that final scene? I really can't tell and it's making me nervous. The show is holding those cards very close to the chest.

Finally, is that the end of Muse? Feels... too fast.

Bonus laugh: Daredevil crashing through the window! I was literally thinking of making a post about all the windows getting smashed in the comics, but didn't want to commit the time to find the panels. Trust me, it's a lot! So I laughed extra hard.

Daniel and BB is a strange friendship. It'd be cute if he wasn't such a political weasel. He's very weird on the Fisk front, is he sincere or is there more to his story? He was very willing to prostrate himself at Fisk's feet for his transgression.

Boooo, my adam theory didn't pan out. Does Fisk think not killing this guy and only imprisoning him is turning a leaf? That's not how it works, buddy! BUT, Red Hook is still in play! There's shit going down in Red Hook, where the hell is dumb Benny?

"Could it be a skrull?" "...  no. 😐"

Matt, stop flirting with the ADAs. Matt, stop threatening cops. Matt, stop having sex to smother your feelings. Matt, STOP.

Fisk is absolutely not compatible with bureaucracy. This isn't gonna end well for any of his staff. The singing, Fisk trying not to lose his mind, oh god! I was hysterically laughing!

Frank Castle! Make him cry, Frank! That was a much different conversation than I thought it would be. Matt already knew where he was. And Matt went to Frank to replace White Tiger, not avenge him. Maybe to shake down the fanboys a little. But mostly because he wants an actual vigilante on the streets and doesn't want to do it himself. And Frank called bs, because he blames Matt for Foggy's death. Absolutely Wild! Also, I am dead dead dead he won't say his name, he hears him everyday, "he was the kindest purest soul" 😭

Jumble of thoughts - Huh???? Edition

We live in the worst timeline, y'all... let me get some thoughts out of the way before I get to that elephant in the room:

I will say this is the most interesting the side characters have been all season. Sheila's guilty betrayal of the commissioner. Daniel going full Fisk Jr evil. Heather officially joining the dark side.

On-purpose blackout leading to martial law leading to Matt and his band of merry vigilantes sets up a good premise for season 2

Kirsten gets to take the legal reins on the Red Hook loophole. Hopefully that will actually come to fruition and not happen entirely off-screen

Hated the slo-mo in the apartment fight. Liked the banter/arguing between Matt and Frank.

I dooo nooot care about Karedevil/Kastle and am high key annoyed at how much those scenes kept circling back to it. And frankly I'm not sorry if that hurts anyones feelings.

I'm glad Matt flat out said he didn't know who he was without Foggy. It's exactly how Foggy felt in season 3. They are two halves of one whole. Nelson and Murdock. Avocados at Law.

Ok... back to the elephant:

WHAT THE FUCK YOU GUYS. I knew it was a bad sign when he wasn't in the credits and then.... aaaaaagghhhhhhhh!!

There are two things keeping me going right now. (Although I totally don't blame anyone who rage quits at this point and nopes out of watching season 2.) Point One: Elden is confirmed for season 2. That's a flat out fact. I'll take him no matter what the context is, I genuinely don't care at this point. Pont Two: I do enjoy watching Charlie. He's very good.

But back to point one: if it's just for flashbacks, flashbacks to WHAT???? What part of this narrative would be served by flashbacks? None of it that I can tell. If it's for dreams, Matt has faced head first his issues at the end of this episode, again, what narrative purpose would it serve? Finally, if it's hallucinations, half of that theory hinges on Matthew Lillard being cast as Mr Fear, which is still completely unknown 🙄. Get back to me when factual information supports it, good grief.

One more thing: Vanessa asked Dex to kill Benny AND Foggy. DEX DIDN'T KILL BENNY. Why? And we still don't know why Dex shot Foggy in the chest! If the answer is genuinely "because the writers needed to create tension for the fight", that's literally the laziest, stupidest writing decision they could have made. I HAVE to believe this many professional writers wouldn't be that stupid and couldn't write their way out of a situation literally ALL OF THEM DIDN'T WANT.

Jumble of thoughts, it's all coming together!

Welcome back Dex! You and your blue bees (the beeeeez) instantly made this way more fun! I loved the scene with Matt, I loved his escape, and I loved the blue lighting motif they've given him.

The parallel convos of Matt & Heather disagreeing about vigilantes and Wilson & Vanessa reconnecting over murder was quite good.

Kirsten did the unthinkable and touched Matt's glasses! A very interesting violation of boundaries, but maybe it signals how she will NOT let Matt hide the way he does from everyone else. She also clocked his black eye. She's gonna know the DD secret whether Matt wants her to or not. She also read him a bit of the riot act. Which like, fair. Yeah the client sucks, but he's being a terrible partner and not supporting her at all.

The return of Josie was a surprising delight and I friggen knew that bottle was coming back, I knew it! Interesting to know that Foggy's death was investigated, but it sounds like the true motive was never established. It's also very nice Josie went to the funeral. I just that funeral was the best attended funeral in the kitchen 🥲. (And for anyone exceptionally worried, Foggy had a funeral in the comic too! So it's not proof positive of death!)

The whole Matt and Dex scene was delicious. Matt was being the absolute worst version of himself and it led directly to Dex escaping. See why we don't fly off the handle, Mr. Murdock? Also, Matt doing to Dex what Fisk did to him in season 2. Chef's kiss.

Powell remains the absolute WORST.

BB is a vigilante journalist! Writing under a false identity to expose the truth. She knows way more than she pretends she does. And I guess now we know why she's friends with Daniel. He's just too foolish to see that he's being used.

Vanessa. VANESSA. What did you do and why did you do it? I think she hired Dex through a proxy (maybe Buck?) and I think she was behind him getting moved to gen pop. Dex said "I'm not supposed to be here" and was waiting for appeal. He thought he was safe. Getting moved to gen pop to kill him was a double cross, which Dex took very personally. He was targeting Fisk because Matt put the idea in his head on whose fault this was.

Somebody go find Dumb Benny, cause he's the missing link in all this!

Oh yeah, and Matt got shot. But it was only in the shoulder, he'll be fine. I can't believe he took a bullet for Fisk. What a world we live in, lol.

Overall, leaps and bounds better than 7! 9 is gonna be nuts!

Double jumble of thoughts!

Episode 5:

Smart to put this with 6, since it was so tonaly different from every other episode, plus a stand alone, plus kinda short! I still liked it though.

My biggest take-away: Detective Kim is still alive! I was SURE she died at Josie's. She took a Bullseye glass to the face and survived! Good on her!

Matt's little "I'm just an innocent blind guy" whistling, I just want to smack him. And his little smile that his plan of the robbers keeping him as a hostage, I want to smack him even harder. His Irish accent ruse, I want to smack Charlie (playfully). Matt Murdock is a silly, silly man.

That stairwell tussel was pretty damn slick

Things we never thought we'd hear on a Disney+ show: "Blimey, I just fucked a penguin!"

Episode 6:

I was so nervous this whole god dang episode, like want-to-barf nervous.

And to open it with Matt praying to thoughts of Foggy? And making me watch Foggy die AGAIN? AND MATT AMEN KISSING THE FUNERAL CARD?!? The noise I made!

The Muse stuff is just straight up from the comic, it's pretty awesome.

And Fisk and Vanessa. It's all about Red Hook. It's ALL about Red Hook! What is up with Red Hook?! Tell meee!

Fisk being disrespected by the elite. Lol. Team No-one. Okay, maybe team Jack, because Swordsman you guys, it's him, yay!

Gonna wait and see about the Cole North and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. I'm going to trust my gut and assume they wouldn't veer that far off on a character from the comics....

The Angela stuff, good god. Her begging Matt to do literally anything, I wanted to cry. Her getting caught by Muse, remember when I said I wanted to throw up from the anxiety? YEAH.

And Matt, I'm sure Foggy would also say "Fuck it, go save that little girl!". I promise he wouldn't be mad at you!

There is so much still to go, it's crazy how many pieces this episode put into place for the final 3. Plus the stuff from the teaser from today! I really thought he'd go to Josie's before going out as DD. Maybe that means he's going there to solve the Red Hook mystery. Either way, the Josie's stuff is gonna hurt! I can't wait!

So they did the thing. It was devastating! Foggy looked really good and the NM&P and his flirting with Kirsten was super cute/charming! And theeeeen

That wasn't murder, that was an assassination. To quote Matt, "Why!? Why!?" That's what we still need to find out. For some reason I hadn't even considered that it was a direct target on Foggy. He went to his apartment!!? WHY!??

Also, Matt's wail and no-hesitation pushing Dex off that roof (the sound of him hitting the ground!)? Absolutely brutal.

Y'all, he carries the memorial card with him. It's in braille, just for him. He even took it on his date!

Ok, other stuff:

Kirsten is a delight, I love her I love her I love her

Karen's in San Francisco because Matt is a disaster as always hello important historic daredevil locale

Heather is toooast

Fisk seemingly didn't have anything to do with Foggy (but Vanessa might have!)

The politics is making me queasy, I miss enjoying politics but we live in trying times so it just hurts my stomach

Did Matt just kill those two cops? Because it totally looks like he just killed those two cops. He's not well! Killer unexpected needledrop into the credits!

That's all I can think of at the moment, I am woozy with emotion. And 3 hours of sleep. But the emotion!
