We love worldbuilding and are working on a fantasy world ourself, so here's some art of random people from one of our fictional cultures! (and some rambles) (below the cut because it's long)

Their full name is Māni Sašvu Napāli Sisnanhe. This basically means he's from the Crab Clan, the Fish Family, his personal name is Napāli, and he's a "Child of No One" (so, orphan, kinda). This also means they belong to the Seacow Tribe (or, well, Sāvēli Tribe, which is the actual word). Yeah, there's a lot of groups one belongs to (and I always get them mixed up :>). Also, the terms are just to help us remember and understand everything better, but we plan to come up with terms for these in our conlang.

Napāli builds boats (and ships too, maybe?) and is also a priest or something, I guess? They are responsible for funerals and commune with spirits (those are very important to their culture and the reason they wear masks!). He may also be a navigator? But those are quite a few jobs, so I'm not sure if we'll stick with those.

Still working on the conlang, so all of this is subject to change and more random sounds that sound good than really something that actually means something.

Btw, Napāli's wearing a mask, as does everyone else in their culture. The mask thing is literally what made us start this project because we wanted to explore what would compel people to wear masks like this all the time.

The earring he's wearing means he has a child (being a parent is very important and kinda sacred in their culture, so of course they need to wear an accessory that show's that).

This is their ex, who's an asshole because we didn't like how he turned out when we drew him (sorry 😔) (also Napāli's current partner is way cooler and better anyway! /silly):

His name's Zīna Ežanro Anhekro Sisjūmak (with Anhekro being his actual name). Which means he's from the Fox Clan, the Chicken Family and the child of someone named Jūmak. He's also part of the Water Buffalo (or Hōme) Tribe (it's not pronounced like the English word "home" at all btw!) and a wood carver or something like that.

Napāli's current partner is Tavha Hāvu Sadh Sismekala, who's part of the Falcon Clan and the Parrot Family and therefore also the Heron Tribe. He's the child of Mekala and Sadh is his personal name (and we stole it from one of our older stories that we never finished where he was the captain of a ship and got stranded on an island with most of his crew dead after a kraken attack, there were only two crew members left and one random woman who's obsessed with dragons who he started to become best friends with).

The First Son (Tēhoran)

The First Son was known as the wisest of the Seven Sons, well versed in astronomy and the study of heavenly essence. He had lived the longest of them all and thus was closest in age to the Mother and Father, leading his ‘brothers’ after the Mother’s demise and the following events.

He was not the kindest of the Seven Sons, as accounts of his time ruling over distant, foreign lands recounted. His long existence, marred by wars and conflict, had shaped him into a figure of harsh contours and sharp edges. Had once his eyes been gentle, now their gaze was hollow and cold.

The island he had claimed during the Weeping, when the land was flooded by the tears of the Father, had long turned into a province rich in ore and covered in lush forests.

(Can you guys tell we like capitalizing nouns to make them mean something different and specific? /silly Also, this is probably all kinda cryptic without context but that would be too difficult to explain now.)

We love Tēhoran, even if he's quite flawed (these days). He's probably still one of the best among his 'brothers' (they all rule over their own provinces as kings but also work together somewhat). He loved his ' 'younger brother' Melāko who died (not really, it works different for spirits) a long time ago. We'll definitely write some more stuff about him.

Lakhilian does not have a defined stress system, for native words have meaning when the sounds are integrated with special ear positions. When a word ends with the same initial letter as the next word, it loses the last letter. The only punctuation mark in Lakhilian is a cross-like mark between each word. Two of these symbols are placed at the end of a sentence.
