Well this was a surprise. To see Jeritza of all people out in the open and actually not in some training arena- or most notably, not wearing of that creepy armor that would have drawn waaaaay too much attention. Though maybe this will be his chance, to fight someone as strong as him, even if it’s just practice, that was enough to have the boy fired up.

“Hey Jeritza! I feel like we’re a bit out of practice. So how about you and I go train together. One on one. I wanna see how much stronger I’ve gotten, or see how much I need to go before beat you. Whatcha think?”

lorenz already figured the odds of seeing people they knew in this new place were slim to none, but jeritza of all people was definitely last on the list. they had an endless array of questions to ask him, ultimately all reaching a simple ‘why’ at the end of the day. but this city is supposed to be a place for new beginnings... they stand in thought for a moment, likely noticed a while ago while thinking of the proper way to approach him. 

but they weren’t trying to be sneaky, and they jump when they realize jeritza already walked up to them. “ ah... good evening, jeritza. the weather is just perfect today, isn’t it? ”

thwack. the sound of a wooden lance burying itself in the soft ground next to him put byleth on full alert, his own sword drawn in an instant. dimitri had told him this place was peaceful, except for a few odd strangers-- byleth was certain he had met one of those, but as his gaze followed the trajectory of the lance, his stance softened.

“you wanted a duel, right?” he remembered very little of jeritza’s time at the academy before he had... mysteriously disappeared, and any implications of what had become of the man were hearsay. still, he did remember at least one emphatic request. byleth kept his sword in one hand, and used the other to grab the lance, approaching jeritza and holding it out in offer. “i have time to oblige you, now, if that’s still the case. i was curious what became of you, after everything...” talk or not, his sword remained unsheathed.

Her anxiety has her spinning, wrapped up in this thinly held together neuroticism that makes her feel distinctly sick. Distress is normal, is what she’s been telling herself, and that sometimes, things happen that you just can’t control. Whether or not that’s okay is still up in the air, but for now, Amalie’s plan is to take a few deep breaths, and find something more productive to do with herself than despairing. 

For now, it’s this cat. It’s a marvelous cat, all black with white socks. Amalie has decided in this moment that she is in love. She’s always liked cats, though it’s been three or four years since she last had one. 

Nevertheless, the appearance of someone from the adjacent door startles her, enough that she turns a bit too sharply and fixes the other with a long look. After a moment of consideration, Amalie mutely points to the cat and raises an eyebrow.

“Is that your cat?” The obvious questions first. She’s moving quickly back into a semblance of normal, offering a more pleasant expression than the first flat one. “It’s gorgeous, just a delightful little face. I figure you should be aware if it is in fact your’s.”

for what would your character give their life?

that’s a tricky one! see, sylvain’s life isn’t really his to give.

there’s plenty of things he would gladly give his life for. he takes death-defying risks to help his friends all the time, his style on the battlefield is dangerous and gets him yelled at more often than not, but many of his allies have learned to work around it.

when the kingdom was on its last legs, he almost did give his life for the chance at the kingdom surviving a little longer, but things turned out less immediately deadly, and it was all okay.

sylvain doesn’t value his life. the problem is, it’s not just his life at stake: he made a promise to his best friend, that they would die on the same day. so as much as he wants to give his life for anything and everything that matters to him, as ready as he is to throw it away, he can’t. his life belongs to felix, and sylvain has no right to end it prematurely.

Far more of a cynic, easily. Especially here, where he’s never felt a single romantic thing for anyone in his life and isn’t even thinking about romance.

A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?

Primarily, his love language is acts of service. Doing things for other people is how he shows his care, though this can also extend to getting gifts, planning dates, and other similar things. Otherwise though, he’s reticent when it comes to showing physical affection and verbal affection tends to be more on the straightforward side.

T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?

Eh…….

He certainly believes that two people can love each other so hard that their love is nigh insurmountable by any obstacle, but he doesn’t have any sort of belief in “soulmates” or “fated to be together” or “made for each other” or anything similar to that. He’s far too pragmatic to think those things exist
