despite having many family members, caterina is not particularly close with any of them as all the amell children were sent to separate boarding schools as soon as they were old enough (litcherally six years old) at the behest of their grandparents. 

cat attended a boarding school in paris from ages 6-13 and ages 13-18 were spent in milan. only two months of every year were spent at home with her parents and siblings. many letters were written

she developed a deep love of reading and learning at these schools, spending all her time in their libraries. 

when cat returned home for the summer one year, she learned from her father that her mother had disappeared months earlier. they hadn’t succeeded in finding her and they never would. cat has opted to believe that her mother was so distraught by never truly knowing any of her children, that she left so she wouldn’t have to bear the reality of it. 

during her last year of school, she decided to apply to universities/colleges in small-ish towns because her home wasn’t much of a home anyway and she wanted to make a new one somewhere she felt like she could connect with the community

CANON. everything we already know except also he’s gay. DECIMATION.  Remus never thought he wanted to teach, until he was doing his MA and became a learning support officer for several of the undergrads. He even put it off for a while; his mother was an art teacher, and he had always seen it as sucking the life out of her, even more than his constant illnesses as a child had. But even after doing his PHD, the desire still lingered, so Remus moved to Decimation to join the ranks of the damned: high school teachers.

When he’s not trying to inspire uninspirable kids, Remus can be found wandering the woods in the middle of the night (his insomnia is chronic and incurable, especially around certain times of the month), frequenting local coffee shops because of his inhumane resistance to caffeine, or nose-deep in some dusty tome in the library. He always tells himself that he won’t teach forever - just until he finishes his book - but frankly even he’s starting to doubt his lie.

Learn how to be happy again. Hopefully inspire some kids. Try and not feel like eating raw steak every time there’s a full moon.

HEADCANONS: emma grew up in foster care until she ran away from her final foster family at sixteen, joining a small band of kids who were around her age and also without families and without any real direction. for over a year she wandered through life until reality hit her all at once. before she knew it, she got caught shoplifting and sentenced to six months in a juvenile detention center where she also found out she was pregnant with her son. both of which were the pushes she needed to get her life together. she got herself an entry level job and got her GED, which took her awhile considering she was raising her infant son, but she was determined to be a better person and a good mother for her son. the idea of putting henry up for adoption was one that was not off the table. in fact, it was something emma was going to do without any doubts, because she had convinced herself that she had no idea how to be a mother and couldn’t be one. however, when she first heard him cry, she was overwhelmed with the need to hold him... just once. just once would be enough for her. it was enough for her to change her mind at the last possible moment and keep her son, regardless of how difficult she knew life as a single mom was going to be.  settling down roots was difficult and there were a few places that she’d looked into around the country to move to for henry to grow up in, new york was high on the list, tallahassee was another idea. emma came upon decimation during a road trip with her son when he was five years old and about to start kindergarden and the two of them fell in love with the city and ended up settling where they remain to this day.

HEADCANONS: Robb lives with his dog Grey Wind, who’s a purebred Tamaskan! He has a fence around the backyard and a doggie door to allow his companion the opportunity to run around outside whenever he pleases. Otherwise, Grey Wind doesn’t like leaving his owner’s side or watching Robb go to work. Each morning they go on morning runs together!  Birthmarks in strange places — resembling the different areas that he had been injured during his murder in his canon life. One large birthmark over his heart where the blade had executed him and several smaller birthmarks where the arrows from the crossbows hit him. Robb doesn’t think anything of it because they’ve been there his entire life but maybe that’s what makes his ‘waking dreams’ so painful.

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: Robb is a smart child, seemingly gifted. You could always find him studying in his room or somewhere around the house. He’s the oldest of all his siblings so most of his spare time is spent helping his parents look after them. It wasn’t unusual to have one of his baby siblings in his lap while working on schoolwork. Robb genuinely loves them and feels fiercely protective over the other Stark children, often becoming rather doting as he got older. Their family grew up on the border of  Northern England and Scotland. Robb has an interesting accent as a result — thick but not difficult to understand. His main reason behind moving to Decimation was to be closer to Jon. He didn’t come unprepared, getting a position at the local high school teaching history to the students. Quickly it starts to feel like home. However, nightmares have started haunting him at night. It’s always the same horrible vision. Robb doesn’t know what it means but wishes that it would stop so he can sleep through the night again.

HEADCANONS: elijah has always been a believer in the importance of family, though this came strictly from his relationship with his siblings more than it did his parents. his father was a cruel man, and growing up, elijah both feared and respected him. slowly respect ebbed away and was replaced with hatred; how could someone be so vicious, so ignorant about his own children and the rest of the world around him, and still expect respect, or even love? though it took years and years to do so, elijah finally found it in himself to resist mikael’s manipulations, and he will stop at nothing to protect his siblings from him – especially klaus. because of the way he was raised, he’s not exactly the most friendly person upon first meeting, but he is nothing if not respectable. he has class and treats others as equals (unless or until given reason not to).  he has taken great care in his education and his future; while his goal is hardly to become the most powerful person in any city, he enjoys having a role which others respect. but his real passion in the museum is the preservation of history.

HEADCANONS:1. Namor suffers with PTSD, it’s something he’s working hard to grapple with but it’s a challenge for him. With this, Namor suffers from insomnia. He tends to sleep only a few hours a night and relies heavily on caffeine. 2. He’s the owner of his own aquatic pet and supply store named Atlantis. Namor is very intense about his job, he cares about every single pebble in his shop and will intensely explain this adoration for ocean life if asked about (and sometimes even when he’s not asked) 3. Namor is a bit of a no nonsense kind of guy. He’s the type to tell it to your face and not be upset if he hurts your feelings. 

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: Namor moved for one reason and one reason only, to spread the joy of aquatic life. Namor moved around 13 years ago to Decimation after the passing of his family. He had been an ocean lover, a man who was caught every day at the beach but after the passing of his family it was a challenge for him to find hope again. The one thing that still brought him joy? The life that brimmed in the waters of his feet. It took him a long time to realize that many landlocked states don’t have the joy of the oceans, so Namor decided to move and make his own empire. So Namor is enjoying his time with his fiance Jim Hammond and plans on continuing his new life here.

HEADCANONS: gi hun is an eccentric man who has had troubles in the past with gambling and going into debt. however, as luck struck him - something he still feels questionable and disturbed about - he won the lottery and was able to pay off his debts and attempt to help his ailing mother. unfortunately, she passed - and with his only child, a daughter, moving to the united states with his ex-wife and her husband, gi hun felt he had nothing left for him in south korea and thus picked up and moved to america. witty, funny, and kinda dorky - gi hun somehow managed to find decimation and despite having a decent sum of cash, he’s still chosen to take a job in retail as a cashier for the local chocolate shop. (in which he’s had his fill of chocolates and thinks he can never eat more).

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: he’s happy to live his life in decimation, but the nightmares/waking dreams disturb him greatly. he feels a connection to sae byeok because he remembers her from his dreams but he’s too afraid to bring it up in case she finds him weird. occasionally, he sends money and gifts  to new york to support his daughter and for her to remember him.

HEADCANONS: lorna has always struggled to find her place in the world, both in decimation and in her canon life. she spent much of her life suspecting but unsure of her mother and stepfather’s accident when she was truthfully too young to remember, and, in her canon life, eventually learning of her biological father and bearing the weight of his name and what it meant to mutants everywhere. in decimation, though she has no knowledge of her life as a mutant, she’s felt an overwhelming urge to stand up for those that are different and mistreated.

HEADCANONS: kathryn janeway was born and grew up in bloomington, indiana, her father was an air force staff sergeant and kathryn eventually followed in his footsteps, enlisting herself after she got her masters degree. she was with the military for ten years until her father was killed, sending her into a deep depression. she took a leave of absence to deal, but when she returned to duty, her heart wasn’t in it. once she finished her term, she chose against another term of active duty and go back to school for her doctorate instead, opting to choose a career path, not in the military, but in her first love, science and engineering.  while she was working on her phd, she took a job as an assistant teacher at a high school in boston. kathryn had never once thought of being a teacher in her life and had every intention of going for a career with nasa after she finished her doctorate, but she’d found that she enjoyed teaching more than she ever thought she would. after she graduated with her phd, she accepted a full time teaching job in decimation, kansas.

HEADCANONS: Bruce used to apply black makeup around his eyes as part of the suit when starting out as Batman, but that’s no longer part of his routine after redesigning the cowl. He also has a slight accent due to growing up in New Jersey!

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: These ‘waking dreams’ that appear to Bruce at night keep him awake, often finding himself sitting up in bed to avoid them. It couldn’t be true, right? These visions of what happened to his parents in the alley just feels cruel. He has memories of growing up with them so why would his mind play this trick? Bruce chalks it up to guilt about moving away from home and settling in Decimation. It’s a long way from New Jersey, used to the finer things due to being born into a wealthy family. His father was a gifted surgeon and this inspired Bruce to follow in his footsteps — eventually falling in love with orthopedics for his own journey in the medical field, now a successful surgeon in his own right. He likes to think that the name doesn’t have anything to do with it. On his time off he likes to take Ace on a walk around town, especially Founder’s Park.
