"Stella! These are beautiful!" Declan exclaimed as he approached Stella's booth excitedly, looking over all the art on display. He couldn't help but pick up one piece after another to admire them in detail, though thankfully his hands were clean. "Wow! You really went all out! Amazing job!" He gave her a grin.

"Well then maybe I should say more stuff like that," Anael shot back with a smirk, humor in his tone but there was also sincerity to it since he really would not mind at all if Declan decided to stick around a while longer as he was genuinely starting to feel some kind of attachment growing there that he didn't quite know how to describe yet.

"You're more than welcome to give me your best shot," he all but purred, wiggling his eyebrows playfully at the angel. There was something almost easy about being around him and it was a feeling Declan wasn't used to. He was, however, finding that he quite liked it.

"Halen!" Declan grinned when he saw his friend, draping his arm across Halen's shoulders, snuggling into his side. "How are you? We should catch up! You want some ice cream?" He grinned, poking Halen's side gently.

“Is it Bring Your Declan to Work Day?” Declan asked with a grin. “If your people don’t mind, I don’t mind hanging out in a spooky funeral home for a few hours.” He moved to stand. “Let’s go!”

declan's blush made fern grin, a hand reaching out to gently pinch his cheek before giving his hand a pat. "i sure do my best, but there are a lot of people around here that would probably disagree with you. i don't particularly care what they think, though. not when i have so many wonderful people in my life." fern paused, knowing that she'd need to leave soon. "you gonna be okay? or should i bring you to work with me? i feel like that'd be fun."

Declan lay with his head in Artemis’ lap, closing his eyes as she stroked his hair. This was nice. He really liked it. “Hey Artie?” he asked softly. “Can I ask you something that might be kind of awkward?”

"Mr Anderson! Are you here getting coffee?" Declan greeted with a smile and a wave. He laughed, then. "Hey, did you know your name is like that Matrix character? That's pretty funny. I bet you get that a lot, huh?"

Declan grinned, honestly willing to do anything for Gilly. It might not've been healthy, but her sticking with him through his accident and what happened afterwards had made her an angel in his eyes. He texted his boss, telling him he wasn't feeling well and was taking a sick day.

"Done! I'm yours for the rest of the day," he said with a grin, rubbing his nose against hers before kissing her deeply.

"i love when you tell me i have a good idea," gilly teased, peppering kisses across declan's face. "makes me feel all smart or whatever. though i guess encouraging you to call in sick isn't the smartest thing in the world, but we can ignore that. right?" gilly grinned as she pulled back, reaching to lace her fingers through declan's as her other hand held the crook of his elbow. "i've heard spending time with your girlfriend is the perfect cure for a cold."

“Wow! You look amazing!” Declan exclaimed when he saw Peyton, grinning and taking her hand to spin her around. “Sorry, I’m Declan. I can’t remember if we met before; I have a pipe in my head! It fucks with my memory. But I’m pretty sure you’re one of the hottest people I’ve ever seen.”

“What are you doing?” Declan asked, leaning up against the back of Presley’s shoulder as he peered over it at the tattoo she was working on. “What’s that? Huh? What is that? Can I do one?” He reached for the gun despite knowing he wasn’t supposed to.

“Lia! I heard you were trying to have a baby. Are you pregnant? You look bigger,” Declan declared, looking her over with narrowed eyes. “Yeah, definitely bigger. So you’re probably pregnant. Or you’re just getting fat, but you don’t really eat like that. It’s exciting!”

“Oh! Yeah, I can ask her! I know she’s bi, so she might like seeing them too,” Declan said with a grin. “Thanks, Pey!” He moved to hug her again. “I’m glad you’re happy now. I want you to be happy.”

“That’s understandable,” Peyton nodded. “I mean, I know plenty of couples like to go see that sort of thing together if you two are interested, but if not that’s totally fair too,” she chuckled. “It just depends on your preferences and boundaries, but worth mentioning if you’re into it.”

“Um, excuse me? Excuse me!” Declan ran after the person ahead of him, holding aloft the ration card he found on the ground. “I think you dropped this!” It didn’t occur to him to just keep it for himself, too worried about making sure whoever it was got their “money” back. He didn’t even know if it belonged to them, but it was the first person he saw.

Declan smiled faintly. “Yeah, she is really kind, and hot,” he said with a sheepish look. “Oh! I’ve been reading your new column in the paper! It’s really good! You’re really wise. I like reading your advice. I wish I was as smart as you. I think you’re really helping people.”

"No one in this town is lacking trauma," Icarus returned the soft laugh. "I know it's impossible to stop the worrying; but I think Artemis has an idea; she's been around the whole time. Yeah, it's different, just witnessing it versus actually putting in the work, but she seems really dedicated and kind."

I found something for you,” Declan said with a grin, holding his hands behind his back as he rocked on his feet excitedly. “You wanna know what’s better than one Kool-Aid packet?” He pulled his hands out from behind his back in a swift movement. “Two Kool-Aid packets!” He shook the packets in front of him.

“Fern!” Declan waved as he hurried over to her. “I came to surprise you! Do you want to have lunch with me? I’ve got so much to tell you!” He grinned, pushing past any worry or concern in order to remain optimistic. He was good at pushing away bad feelings.
