In 1964, the company was born to help American Airlines in simplifying its passenger records, delivering industry’s first "passenger name record“. Later, Sabre would emerged as its own company and expanded to cover other airlines. Now, Sabre would let you book almost anything to do with travel, from renting a car to booking a hotel. It proceeds to operate a third of all air travel bookings in the world, amounting to over $260 billion worth of global travel spend annually. Many times the American government has asked Sabre to spy on certain suspects. The company played a significant role in tracking the movements of THE 9/11 HIJACKERS after the attacks on the Twin Towers. In an order from December last year, Sabre was asked to give "complete and contemporaneous real-time" activity updates of a hacking suspect of Indian origin - DEEPANSHU KHER on a weekly basis. Sabre would provide "any travel orders, transactions or reservations" for Kher. In November 2019, Kher was charged with attacking the computer hosting a website of an unnamed San Diego company, causing more than $5,000 in damage. He was arrested in January and pleaded not guilty to one charge of intentional damage. According to legal experts cited by Forbes, this appears unprecedented, disturbing and is legally questionable, due to its application of a 1789 law known as the All Writs Act.
