White Diamond AU

Yellow Diamond keeps everyone and everything in tip top shape. There’s no room for WD’s eccentric & eclectic personality. WD is a “colorless” Diamond who cannot see what she offers to the gems she creates.

When Original SU White Diamond channels Spinel through herself, I thought that would make this AU White Diamond more empathetic to others. And who better for her to change into than a Pearl.

Pearls are prizes & technically that’s not a being. Not important either. They aren’t respected or worthy, their owners earn status by having them.

This AU White Diamond goes through Original Pearl’s storyline — falling in love with a Rose Quartz (the exact one who looks like Rose maybe) who has a child with a human.

I just think that would be trippy.

I believe the only differences in my mind right now, issss WD Pearl would dress in the femme versions of Pearl’s fits

The funny thing is

I have to depend on Mr Smiley’s design for Steven.

So technically

It’s a Lapis + Mr Smiley fusion

I believe Pearl will be stuck in a mirror / item.

I want Bismuth to fall for her all over again. She’s still no one’s Pearl in this AU

Likeeee at first I thought she’d be a great tiara. Now I’m like what if she’s trapped in Zoltron or something?

An interesting story beat idea!

I want Hessonite to be the Spinel of this AU.

Then I was like who is the Bismuth of this AU?

I’m thinking it should be the OG Crystal gems.

AU Pink has wonderfully talented and charming fusions at her whim. And perhaps this Yellow, feeling pressured, seeks to have better fusions. Sure her Topaz can fuse with a Topaz. But the fusions she’s seen are lackluster in comparison. So she experiments with forced fusion.

The issue are the story beats & development.

⭐️ Opal as a forced fusion who finally separates thanks to Steven could be cool! Pearl & Amethyst’s relationship development fits what a forced fusion may feel like once separated.

It however changes AU Pearl being like OG Lapis trapped in an object. This AU Pearl does all the things, even eats a little! She’s unafraid!

⭐️ Garnet being a forced gem would fit perfectly since she’s together throughout the show. Perhaps when the two finally can unfuse, it’s like when OG Ruby is alone.

The relationship dynamic isn’t forced fusion like imo. If they accepted their fate, perhaps.

Which leads to the final option of the forced fusion being— Bluebird. It fits the rage I want? Possibly too much. But does fit OG Bismuth’s first interaction with Steven — Polite at first with a deadly encounter.

Do I want to write a redemption story for this terrorsome gem? Noooo 😭😂💀 I wouldn’t even know where to start! Her powers, what does she bring? A pearl with out a garnet just seems wrong?!

I’m in new territory and it scares me a little!

Despite the new outfits for clown diamonds being fantastic, I want to design them AGAIN.

All the frills are not simple enough for the style

Color theory wise,

A brown Steven with yellow as his mom, would work best with other gems of that color range.

Oranges, peaches, browns, greens, gold, yellow greens, yellow oranges!

Potentially a Ruby, Yellow Pearl, Jasper, and padparadscha sapphire would be nice for this Steven?

If I HAD to remake the OG crystal gems in that way, that would be best. Even some of the quartz that were corrupted would fit well.

White Diamond AU thoughts

Yellow Diamond is p r o b a b l y the worst diamond for the crystal gems to face. Like she still wanted to destroy earth 1,000 of years later. Lol.

The lack of WD in the authority means the gems have no identity/soul? I may be rusty on that. Like is PD identity & WD soul. Idk. ANYWAYS -

This AU Rose would not have a shield. & WD as Pearl would have to fight desperately to keep her safe.

I have to watch WD’s fight scene all over again to see these laser eyes. Hmm

Looking for 80s & 90s fits for these gems!

Peridot is who I’m struggling with but I think I know Lapis & Bismuth.

I reallllyyy want someone to be dressed like Fran from the Nanny. Please Lapis please.

As much as I could edit screencaps to tell the story idk if I have the time or energy to even figure out details. Like color theory or character designs.

Currently AU Steven has Connie’s skintone. Only because she is a brown character who appears in various environmental colors for screencap edits!

lol I personally love the idea of editing them, it’s fun. Some scenes would require so much editing on my end, idk if it’s too much or not.

The other part of me would happily make silly puppet scenarios with SU backgrounds instead. Lol
