Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the U.S., killing one woman every minute (cardiovascular disease accounts for 35% of deaths in women globally). The U.S. statistics courtesy of the American Heart Association spurred a movement called National Wear Red Day, which is held on the first Friday in February annually.
