The Diamondhead Lighthouse which was visible from up high when we went up to the top of Diamondhead Crater I was able to capture some images from that vantage point. For years as comercial shipping traffic came into O’ahu Diamondhead Crater served as a landmark to guide their approach to Honolulu Harbor. Not so when it was night, stormy or foggy. Eventually in 1899 after much debate and discourse approval for lighthouse occurred, it wasn’t until 1904 that it was built.
