🤕 What is the worst injury your OC has ever suffered? Do they have any scars or lasting physical reminders of it? Do they get sick often or have any lasting medical conditions?

worst singular injury she got was when an assassination went slightly afowl and her target managed to give her a good slice to the side. she was learning restoration magic at the time and tried healing it, but fucked it up a bit , gave herself a hernia, had to close and reopen the wound a couple times before she finally got it to set right and it remains as a nasty scar that looks much worse than the injury itself was and the area always causes troubles when she sheds.

she also got pretty badly fucked up during her arrest, the soldiers who got her wanted to take her alive but her condition didnt matter to them as long as she wasnt dead. shes like 4′11″ and skinny, built for speed and stealth so shes absolutely no good in open combat and could get thrown around like a ragdoll if cornered. which was basically what happened, she was slammed into a wall which broke one of her horns off and fractured a couple ribs, and hit over the head, and her physical condition has not been as good ever since.

shes an. interesting case bc as a shadowscale whos adopted father-ish mentor raised her from a child to be a murderer theres obviously  a lot going on there bc thats not a good situation for a child to be raised in lol. but all that considered she was ….approximately healthy for the most part until the “purification”. since in her case lucien was essentially her adopted father (she was raised alongside ocheeva and teinaava) she VERY LITERALLY was made to kill her own brother and sister (alongside her figurative DB “siblings”), and then it turns out it was all for nothing. she already had some resentment for lucien and did not feel bad for him when she walked in on his mutilated corpse, but the hurt kind of came later bc.. he WAS her dad and the brotherhood WAS the only life she knew

so that kind of set her up with a lot of baggage, and initially she is very obviously looking to fill the void of the DB which is the ONLY reason she actually does any of the main quest stuff to begin with, she has like nothing else to do. shes got issues where shes like subconsciously “oh this is a nice middle aged man who treats me well and has a directive for me, i will now mentally categorize him as a speaker/family figure because i dont really know how else to relate to people” but eventually she gains more independence and gradually starts to become her own person and shed the old brotherhood way of thinking.

so yeah she has family/father issues, a fear of being alone, some trauma related to killing her own family. martin’s death is also really hard on her bc she really loves him as a friend, and that + nasty ned repeatedly trying to like off himself for the next few months + the blades being like “wow congratulations champions of cyrodiil please join us or else we will kill you for knowing too much :)” sets her up that shes just curious enough to go into the shivering isles and find enough comfort in it that she really isnt able to come back :(

I’m not sure where to start.

I guess I can start with the present. No one will read this, anyway, so I can jump around.

I’ll put dates when I can, I suppose.

I guess we can start with moving to Missouri. I was born and raised in a city in Texas, so moving to a place with one Wal-Mart for several towns is definitely a shock.

We moved in with my FIL (father-in-law), and I hated it. He’s a grumpy old man, always bitching. There’s no room for us, either. My husband and I were sleeping on a love seat. A very small love seat at that. My son got to sleep in my husband’s old bed so at least that. All our stuff got out into a shed out back. When I went to look for specific clothes, there were so many bugs, a dead rat in one box, it was a shit show. I was so upset about it. We can touch back on that later.

Well, when we got here, it was lame. I was sad and all that. I should also mention, I’m bipolar and don’t have a doctor up here. Unmedicated me with a lot of stress is bad. My father in law has this friend. We’ll call him M. Well, M has a daughter that actually isn’t his, and we’ll call her J. FIL and J would spend time together. I pointed it out to my husband. I said it was weird. Hubs told me that she helps FIL mow lawns to earn some money for her family. I thought it was sad. I felt bad for the position they were in, especially cause her cow of a mother didn’t do shit. This women was probably 400 pounds, and any time they were around, she would stand there and smoke cigarettes and just be obnoxious. She didn’t watch any of her kids at all. It was awful to see. The cow’s friend once walked up and started talking to me and then said “oh my bad, I confused you for [the cow].” Just to be a cunt. It wasn’t THAT dark, I was standing in the light, and by no means does my 130 pound, 5’ 2” ass look anywhere NEAR that huge. So this continues, they stop by, J is always with FIL. One day, the husband and I are hanging out in the living room, and J comes in. She is standing back by the door. Hubs moves and we tell her she can sit. She stands there awkwardly. We keep trying to get her to relax and just hang out and she just stares at us. I tell her (in a playful manor), “don’t be a creeper! Come sit down, you can change the tv if you want.” Nothing. She and FIL leave. Next day, we’re hanging out again, FIL comes in and goes off on us, “you called her stupid! Do you know how old she is?? THIRTEEN! You called a thirteen year old stupid!” And storms out. Like, first of all, we didn’t call her stupid? Secondly, I dunno, WE DIDNT CALL HER STUPID. Again, whatever, fuck you too old man.

Well, at some point, FIL starts spending all this time with J out in the RV in the front lawn. We assume it’s because he doesn’t want us around her because we’re soooo terrible. I bring up to the husband that it’s quite weird, either way, and doesn’t look wrong. He says it’s just me, but makes a comment to his dad. FIL says, “I’m not doing anything with her, she just helps me mow lawns. Y’all are crazy, she’s my niece.” This continues, and eventually, I pass by his room one night and she’s in there. On the bed. It’s weird okay? I’ve NEVER been in a bed with someone who’s like an uncle. He takes her home or whatever. Well, eventually, I notice she spent the night in there with him. Door was always open, no big deal. I mean, to me it still is but the door is open. It escalates and the doors closed. I didn’t really think she was in there often, just that my husband and I made too much noise at night or bc I woke him up when I’d close his door. The bathroom is the hallway from the living room (where husband and I sleep) to the kitchen. Between those two doors is FIL’s bedroom door. I always close his door when I shower or poop because I’m weird like that.

Well, at some point, M and his cow and their crotch goblins are living in the woods behind the house. I’ve been assuming that the girl has been going back there at night, yenno, with her family. At some point, DFS (same as child protective services) calls up asking to speak to FIL about M and their family. One night, my husband goes to grab FIL’s phone because he doesn’t have one at the moment. Opens up to “CHILD BRIDE LAWS IN KENTUCKY.” Hubs goes out to speak to FIL about it. On the 22nd, I went to the door, that you have to fiddle with to make stay closed, and it was closed correctly and locked. Whatever, thought maybe FIL was pooping or the girl had to pee or whatever. Didn’t think much of it. Well, an hour later, my bladder is screaming. I HAVE to pee. Door is still locked. Nah, I’m knocking on it until someone opens this shit. It takes AT LEAST five minutes for FIL to come open it. He gets to the door in his pjs and I’m like okay? Sorry, he was in bed, my bad. He hurriedly closes his door and I pee, whatever. Well, in the morning, I pass by the door and LOW AND BEHOLD, the girl is asleep in the bed. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK RIGHT?! I tell my husband. He too I’d like WHAT THE FUCK?! This is after he’s spoken to FIL about how in appropriate it is to be having this girl alone like that. He always said he wasn’t doing anything. Now, he begins telling us that it’s none of our business. That the problem is that we are living in his house and need to get out. We tell husband’s mom too. She goes off on him as well. He starts “is this attack me day? Why don’t you all mind your own business!?” He goes on and one about it. MIL mentions that those people aren’t good people, they’ll screw him over and take all he has. I tell him, “look, even if you aren’t up to anything, it looks bad. All they need is for the girl to say you did something and you’re screwed.” He decides to turn on me, “YOU all are the ones who want my land!” I couldn’t respond with a straight face. “WHAT ON GODS GREEN EARTH MAKES YOU THINK I WANT TO STAY HERE??” “What?” “What in the hell makes you think we’re staying in this shit hole?? I HATE Missouri, I hate living in the woods, and there’s no fucking way I’m letting us stay here.” Laughing hysterically at him. He tells us again to mind our own business and leaves. Husband turns around and tells us how the other day they were all in FIL’s room and there was a pair of panties on the floor. M turns to J and laughs and asks her, “Are those yours??” *laughs* J:”I dunno they might be.”

Well, I had to leave for work y’all. MIL text me later that night if M and his family were back. Apparently she told FIL that DFS had gone up to the house looking for all of them. Whatever happened they left. I let her know FIL was out in the RV blasting music all night and drinking. Today at 4pm my husband woke him up because he went to make sure he wasn’t dead. He told my husband “we can take the boat out to the lake and you can drown me.” Or some dumb shit like that. We came to MIL’s for dinner.

But that’s how my last few days have been. I’m so sorry for that girl. We’re moving out of FIL’s house soon, that way we don’t get caught up in his bullshit and all the trouble he’ll be in soon because we’ve got a son to look after. It’s sick and fucked up. I never left my son with him or anything but yeah that’s a beginning I suppose.
