@disastrousjest - liked for a starter
"Jiji..." Jotaro awkwardly starts the conversation, not really sure how else to really start this. After all, it was a big thing he was about to ask and goodness knows he struggled when it came to talking to others many times.
"When I go to college, I wanna study in America." From what he read lately, it seems like studying overseas for marine biology was a better idea than in the middle of Tokyo. "Think you can...help me out?"

starter. // @disastrousjest
If Halland is being honest with herself, she’s a bit apprehensive about meeting with a member of the infamous Joestar lineage in the flesh. A person whose very existence the Foundation holds in such regard and will dedicate so much of its resources to aiding--there's an almost chosen-one, mythological sensibility to it. It's easy to use this larger-than-life persevering Joestar line to keep herself moving on this path as they remain a relatively abstract concept to her, but she worries now that she’ll meet this Joseph Joestar and have all her Foundation-informed confidence in him waver in the face of his being understandably but imperfectly human, just like the rest of them.
...But it's no good to think herself in circles over it. Presently, she has a duty to fulfill, and she cannot accomplish it unless she walks through the door in front of her. So, steeling herself, Halland does just that. The bell rattles a tinny chime overhead underneath the din of chatting patrons as she gives the dimly-lit interior of the cafe a quick, sharp-eyed sweep. Her eyes settle quickly on the man she recognizes from the Foundation's files, and with long, purposeful strides she propels herself forward until she reaches the back-corner table where one Joseph Joestar has sequestered himself, as per their arrangements.
"...Good afternoon. Were you waiting long?" Halland speaks in a low tone, unbuttoning her suit jacket under the pretense of comfort in order to offer him a quick glance at the Speedwagon Foundation ID inside before seating herself. "Traffic was so obstructed by a toppled produce cart that I had to finish the last leg here on my own two feet, so I'm afraid I'm a little late."
The excuse is another pretense, an additional security measure--innocuous-sounding phrases and keywords agreed upon beforehand. It’s a touch paranoid, maybe, but considering the large unknown of Dio's stand-powered ranks, higher cautiousness seems only prudent.
Tumblr media
"Have you ordered yet?" Halland plucks up a small menu, studying the man opposite her as she awaits his response. It's time to ascertain his credibility now.

If one were to ask Asuka if she believed in a better future for herself, she would have given them a scoff and just walked away. However, it truly felt like maybe there was some hope for her after all on this fateful day. To think that the guy she was sent to kill would end up saving her (though, not without some injuries, of course) from what was honestly a nightmare, though? Now that was something even she didn’t have much faith in, and yet, it happened.
Tumblr media
Once she awoke, though, and was freed from that damn flesh bud was when she felt like a large weight was lifted off of her chest. Sure, her head felt like it was going to split in two, but she could hear he own thoughts in her head that weren’t screwed with due to the flesh bud. And, more importantly, her life wasn’t at risk anymore. A small burst of flame surrounded her hand with her bringing her hand to heal the wound she acquired while hazel hues glanced upwards at the group that gathered around her.
“Heh, suddenly I’m popular,” she murmured with a light shake of her head. “I owe ya a debt of gratitude for savin’ my ass. Though, I bet ya got some questions too for me, so shoot. If your first one is ‘bout the flames here, it’s ‘cause my stand can heal. Anythin’ else you wanna know beyond that, just ask.”

The shock of seeing Avdol’s body hit the ground brought bile rising up in Kakyoin’s throat, lavender eyes widening in disbelief and horror. This wasn’t possible! Where had the initial injury come from? It had happened so quickly that his vision hadn’t managed to catch it and his mind couldn’t seem to fathom a possible scenario for what he just witnessed. Polnareff’s expression mirrored his own and he knew there were no answers to be found from the Frenchman.
“Av...dol?” the name slid off his tongue with no small amount of difficulty and he found himself approaching his fallen comrade and kneeling to check for any sign of life. Relief flooded him when he found his friend breathing and very much alive. A heavy sigh left him as he double checked the bullet wound to the man’s forehead and sent up a grateful prayer to whichever gods were choosing to watch out for their ragtag group for their mercy. “It’s just a scratch, just stay down and we’ll get you some help.”
He looked up to reassure Polnareff and found he was already gone, a glimpse of his white tower of hair was all Kakyoin saw of him before he disappeared into the crowd, chasing after the cowboy with the gun. The approach of someone behind him made him jerk his head to look over his shoulder, on edge in case the newcomer posed a threat. But the familiar faces of his other two companions were a welcome sight!
Tumblr media
“Mr. Joestar! Jotaro! We’ve got problems. Polnareff took off after The Emperor’s Stand user and Mr. Avdol is injured.” He stood up and gripped the older man’s shoulder with one hand, a determined look on his face, “I’m going after him.”

Hikari dried off her wet curls with a towel, grinding the fabric vigourously between each lock. Of course she was training harder than ever, even her old workout sessions at the local gym couldn't hold a candle to what she was doing now. The former vampire wore a constant smirk as to remind herself of how far she has come. Through Soft Cell and back.
"Heh, believe me, y'won't see me pussyin' out. Been through worse. Was jus' a bit worried, since I knew how strict Hamon training was. This is kind of a breeze in comparison," her mind wandered to when she was woken up at 3 AM to climb a mountain, and she visibly shuddered, "to, uh, that."
She did seem, however, to hold her head a bit higher. Carry herself prouder. Hikari hung her towel on the drying rack, straightening it out, and stretched her arms. Slightly sore. Prolly gonna hurt in the mornin'.
"Hey, now, Suzie's cookin' is nice. Be more appreciative." She shot back, almost offended on her behalf. "'Sides, I've been through much, much worse than strainin' m'arms an' legs. Mentally an' physically. Doubt this'll be any worse," and soon rolling her eyes at his comment, "but honestly, I ain't gonna judge people until I know 'em thouroughly, neither. Seems kinda bitchy t' be wary'a these folks when they accepted me t' train here in the first place."

The mercenary had learned about an amazing hamon coach named Lisa Lisa, and was curious about the lessons. While Kassandra had her hamon well under control for the most part, she knew that she would have to learn more about it. She wouldn’t admit it outright, but when she loses her temper her hamon is all over the place. Luckily, the mentor agreed to letting her into the loop of training, and would meet her with the other two she would be working along side with for a short time. An invitation to meet them in the park- a neutral ground. Ikaros scouted ahead for her, looking over and finally spotting three people that fit the description for her to meet. Finally she was approaching them, amber gaze shifting from the woman, to the two men standing there beside her. She doesn’t come too close- rather, she kept her distance. Her head nods to their direction, arms crossing over her chest.
❝Chaíre.❞          She greeted them, her gaze steadily looking between them while her eagle swooped down onto a branch behind her and let out a small chirp in greeting.

Explain (plotted starter for @disastrousjest )
Soren had been trying to adjust to the new place since about two days ago. He’d been on his way to Endeavor’s agency, focused on getting there quickly since he was running late. Curse his insomnia. He had opted to take some of the more hidden routes, knowing they’d get him closer sooner. He’d been running about, hoping fences with ease as he rushed to work. At one point, Soren had turned a corner only to freeze.
The area immediately looked different and the blazing sun had thrown him for a loop. Had he really been running around that long? Soren had gone to turn back into the alley he came from only to find he was now facing a wall. Nothing was making sense. Where the blazes was he?! He’d tried to call Endeavor only for his phone to straight up cancel the call.
Speeding up to present day, he was standing outside of the diner that just got shot up. Soren had noticed the culprit as he managed to crawl away with the rest of the patrons and had made a mental note to demand answers. He winced, arm coming up to cover his eyes as several grenades went off. What in the—?! Before he can even question what’s going on, he notices the man that held the gun earlier running off with a friend.
“No you don’t!” Soren hissed as he takes off after the two, not about to let either run away. He’d gotten grazed by a few bullets and was now determined to get answers. Whoever this guy was he better have some.

Starter for @disastrousjest (For Old Joseph! Stardust Crusaders!) __________________ Day: May 18th, 1989 Time: 5:00 PM Location: The Brown Manor __________________ Gerard was sitting in his room, just fearful, did he do something wrong? He was only nine years old and he did not know what to do.... especially with his mysterious new power which he called it an imaginary friend. But he did not know his imaginary friend.. would hurt people. Finally, his stand manifested in to the side looking solemn in its ice form.. its face looking somber and saddened, unsure of what it did was right.
“I didn’t mean to hurt them...but why would you hurt them??” Gerard looked at his stand as it floated there unsure of what to do.
“I didnt know if I was telling you to help me out of fear for my life... but if you did then thank you...” Gerard said to his stand with tears filling his eyes with his “imaginary friend” fading away.
In Smokeys office he looked at his old friend Joseph, and a much newer individual that came to his manor after he had called them once Gerard haf told him everything. However he knew good  and well that if anything bizarre or out of the blue happened he would call upon his old friend Joseph Joestar.
“As you can see..I know that my sons child is no way a cruel person nor would he ever hurt anyone not even the maids here... which is why I had to call you up for assistance here Mr. Joestar. I’m sure you and your companion Mr. Mohammed Avdol am I correct?”  “Of course, do you know where Gerard is currently?” Avdol said in a  calm manner.
“Yes, he is upstairs in his room possibly, he may still feel bad for what he did with those people that were bullying him, he just has this feeling that he did something horrendous and he may not be forgiven. I can lead you there if you both of you want.” Smokey asked with a smile on his face.

A smirk upon the Pillar Man’s lips, mocking, TAUNTING at the sudden outburst made by the human. While he doesn’t fully plan on underestimating Joseph, he doesn’t seem to see him as much of a threat. That much is obvious in the way he stands, as if he’s facing a mere CHILD.
“You seem frightened.” A chuckle comes from deep in his chest. "Where’s that fighting spirit you held not so long ago? Come now, don’t tell me you’ve lost all of your bravery so quickly.” Head tilts, finger under his chin as if pondering the thought. “Perhaps I come to you with PEACEFUL intentions.”
I’m disappointed, if this is all the hospitality that humans have to offer.”

Another day at the airport it seems.
After the incident with that new airport security guard a while, Giorno stood clear of the airport for a while till the heat died down...He was sure after giving the police there a bit of a bigger payment for the month he didn’t have to worry about getting busted but just to be on the safe side he had to get a new cab and plates and park a bit farther down the pick-up line for new tourists.
Seems many people were getting on pre-calling cabs now to avoid being ripped off the moment they left the place but still there was some easy targets no too knowledgeable...Like that tall man coming out of the airport with a single suitcase. Seemed like he just got off the American or UK flights giving his outfit and pose. The type of pose of a tourist going alone on a trip with a heavy wallet, looking around like he was about to thumb for a cab.
Tumblr media
“Signore!” Giorno called out in good English to grab the man’s attention before someone else did. “Do you need a taxi or guide? Half off only today.”

@disastrousjest
The men who’d been beaten up came to her, speaking of how some American was able to make fool of them. The woman only laughed at them that day, shooing them off and making them work some petty and humiliating job to prove them that bringing such news to me like whiny kids was a punishable act. The only information she needed was a name along with the appearance. It was then much easier to find out who was the cause of this ruckus. She didn’t wish to have Americans on her tail yet, they were already an annoying bunch with their false speech of freedom yet having so many problems within that they so nicely decided to ignore. But it was only her personal opinion that she would never speak of. After all, it was still nice here. Tall buildings, diversity, good business deals and easy ways to hide and escape.
And as of now? The woman has a wish to meet the one who’s been so well-known. Well, among her men who were not able to hold back their stupid pride and caused a fight only to be beaten up and humiliated by that one guy. She wants to know who that is and how he looks. She wants to know his personality and see if he’ll be useful as a pawn or even a business partner, but the moment her eyes lay on the one who fits the description... Zarina almost cannot hold back a laugh, but she does so gracefully and elegantly. The way she looks makes people look at her, the way she’s dressed makes them understand they’re not match for her, the way she walks shows out her pride and her confidence. So many would be intimidated, but she doesn’t care. If they cannot get to her, they’re not worthy of her attention.
Tumblr media
“I haven’t seen you here before,” she pretends to not know him, a coquettish smile appears on her face as she sits down next to the young man. Joseph Joestar. She’s here to learn a bit more about him and to see if he’s worthy her time and investment. Will he be as fun as they say? But of course, the flirtatious mask is a mask and only, a mask, her wishes hide deeply beneath it. “Mind if I become your company for the night? I haven’t seen anyone who caught my eyes until I saw you.” It’s a game of pretend and play. How fast will he notice that it’s a game and will he notice at all? Ah, she wishes he’ll notice but be discreet. It’ll make the game so much more interesting and she’s been so desperately bored in this country for the last two weeks since the business was still in the making. “Zarina. A pleasure. And does a handsome face has a fitting name to go with?”

@disastrousjest:
This was unlike Jotaro in the way that he wouldn’t just disappear without making it known he wasn’t going to be following them in. He typically had no problem in telling Joseph exactly what he thought or how he felt about any given circumstance. Or if the teen decided to go off and do something on his own, it was never a secret. The fact that Jotaro didn’t care much about what others thought of him or what they wanted him to do kept him from sneaking off or doing anything of that nature. So the fact that he had just vanished without a word was out of character for him. Even more peculiar was the fact that not even Kakyoin had seen or noticed the teen step away. Jotaro wasn’t hard to miss. For someone his age, he was rather tall and muscular. A trait that seemed to run in the Joestar family bloodline. The whole thing was puzzling for the Joestar elder. And while he could easily just chalk it off to Jotaro deciding to go off and do his own thing regardless if anyone noticed, he had a feeling that there was something more sinister at fault behind this. It didn’t make sense for them to have to deal with constant trouble from Dio and his followers and this not to be another attack somehow.
He scratched absently at his beard, aged teals shifting down the street once more. He couldn’t shake the feeling that this had to be an attack somehow. Somehow, someone must have gotten to them and taken Jotaro. But where could they have gone in such a short amount of time? And without anyone noticing? It seemed a little strange to him. Even if it was a stand attack, the person that attacked them must have Jotaro stashed somewhere nearby. But where? He was willing to bet that if they combed the area hard enough, they might just find something. If they didn’t find Jotaro himself, then they might at least find some clues. The only trouble that he was having with that was that they needed to secure the place they were staying as well. He couldn’t just go off and get settled into the hotel without searching for his grandson. It seemed like the only choice that they would have at the time would be to split up. Not that he thought that was a good idea, given the circumstances. The last they needed were for more of them to go off and go missing. But, the old man had made up his mind on how they would execute searching for Jotaro. And just as he always had been, whenever Joseph had made up his mind on something there was no changing it. Something else that ran in their family.
“Alright!” Joseph exclaimed abruptly. He dropped his hand away from his chin and turned back to look towards the other two. “Mr. Avdol, Polnareff– you two head inside and get everything secure for us. Kakyoin and I will start searching for Jotaro. We’ll meet up here by sunset. I’ve a feeling someone might have tried to run off with him. And if that’s the case, they have to be nearby.”
Without giving them all too much time to question his decision. The old man moved passed them and headed down the road. He paused when he got about half a block away. First to look around at the surrounding buildings a little more closely. He shifted his stance once more, folding his arms over his chest while brows furrowed over his eyes. Looking at them, he wondered if he would be able to uncover anything using Hermit Purple. His stand was good at pulling information about any particular subject that he might be using it on. If someone had done something to one of the nearby buildings, perhaps he might be able to find some clues. He wasn’t at all sure what he would be able to find, but he was sure that between his Hermit Purple and Kakyoin’s Hierophant Green, they should be able to find something. Anything would be better than nothing at this point. He had to find out what happened to his grandson. Not just because he was concerned about Jotaro, but because he was the next branch of the Joestar family. He didn’t want anything to happen to his only grandson.
The old man only wondered a few feet away before turning to glance back at the others. He gave a wave, first before cupping his mouth with both hands. “Hey! Kakyoin! Let’s get going!” He shouted. As if the teen wasnt going to follow after him despite his decision for how the group would proceed with searching for his missing grandson.
ALL THE WHILE WHEN THE OTHERS WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A PLAN, Kakyoin had simply kept to his own thoughts and concerns. He faintly remembered Mr. Joestar telling Avdol and Polnareff to head inside, but the rest the redhead had blurred out in minutes. Why would Jotaro have just disappeared without saying anything to any of them? Usually, if he stepped outside it was only for a smoke and then he'd come back in once he was finished. But to just...disappear in such a way that had them all worried, especially Kakyoin? This was a whole new level of 'what the fuck'.
Lavender hues blinked and the teen was pulled out of his thoughts when he'd heard his name being called, causing him to look up and see that Joseph had already been way ahead of him a good bit. Glancing back at the hotel, Kakyoin gave a soft him in response before his hands and arms had lowered laying at his sides while moving forward to catch up with the older Joestar.
Would they find the younger Joestar in time, and preferably unscathed?
He had hoped.
As soon as he reached the elder, Kakyoin's expression shifted into one of slight unease, "Mr. Joestar..." the teen spoke, his head tilting as he glanced at Joseph, "Do you have a plan for finding Jotaro? At least a general idea, or are we winging this?" It was important to understand just how Joseph Joestar worked. What his mind entailed as far as ideas and how quick he was to think on his feet. It was the same thing Jotaro had done quite a few times, something it seemed the brunette inherited from his grandfather. Kakyoin himself had developed a few ideas of his own, of course they almost always ended up going with said ideas but this time the redhead had wanted to know what the old man was thinking.
What were they going to do in this situation? How were they going to locate their one missing member in hopes that he was okay and unscathed? Once again, his arms raised and folded across his chest as he walked along side Joseph, "It's not like Jotaro to do this. Usually he's back in within ten minutes if he has a cigarette." Perhaps Kakyoin paid a little too much attention to these types of things, but hey. It helped knowing he could provide it even if it wasn't much. And what he couldn't wrap his head around was the fact that: How could someone just up and carry off a 195 cm guy from a hotel balcony?
It made no sense.

Hikari had her sights dead set on a glass of ice water. It laid in front of her, the cubes clattering in the glass. She takes a swig, and is reminded of the very sea outside, and there's the faintest phantom taste of salt on the back of her tongue. It wasn't truly there, of course, but with the air circulation inside, she might as well have been inhaling the scent of the ocean every time she breathed. She sips again, slow this time, savoring the taste.
It was Joseph's interjection that made her gag on the deluge, arm swinging violently over her mouth to prevent the water from dripping everywhere, and her other free hand punching her chest to kickstart her lungs. She began to cough violently as water was drawn back from her mouth and stinging the back of her throat. It had caught her completely off-guard.
She had to come up with another lie. It was becoming hard to keep track of them all. Between the wedding ring tucked away in her jacket pocket away from all harm, and her own... unfortunate past experiences, there was nothing she was willing to disclose. She cleared her throat ( and barely contained a few more stinging, rumbling coughs ), and struggled to find her wording.
She was a decent liar. She had to be. One single slipup, and that was it for her. She opens her mouth, closes it, repeat for a solid three more seconds before she sinks her head in her hands. The best lies come from truths. She'd have to omit things, certaintly, but if she just decided to decline or ignore her peer he would absolutely never stop bugging her about it.
"I was attacked by a... vampire." She began carefully, gritting her teeth. That part was true, and the memory of it painful. "It was vicious. I spent several years in recovery... an' I wanted t'learn how t'better protect m'self in case I ever saw his face again. I searched, an' got pointed here. Aside from physical trainin', which I happen t'enjoy," a clear dig at Joseph, "I've taken time t'learn the history. It's personal. It matters t'me. But I didn't expect all've... this. This war, this... battle, that I've gotten tangled up in. It's a lot."

I wonder where it is that she came from… Lisa Lisa never mentioned it before. And I’m not sure if Caesar knows either. I still can’t figure out how I got stuck with her, either way. Seems hardly fair.
“Say, how did you manage to end up here anyway?” Joseph decided to speak the question that had been running through his mind in that moment.  The young Joestar sat at the dining table, his arms resting on the top of the table. One elbow propped up, his chin resting in his palm. Teals were on her from where he sat, having already finished his breakfast and simply waiting for the signal to head out to the training grounds. He was in no hurry to get out there, despite how serious it was that he took it all seriously. It was the hard work that Joseph disliked, the only other thing he disliked more than that was getting up before the sun. Their last training session was still fresh in his mind. His body still sore from how intense it had been trying to channel everything so perfectly and taking the timing just right. And while he had understood its purpose, it hadn’t meant that he liked it any more.  It had done one thing though. Joseph wasn’t as apprehensive towards her as he had been just a couple days ago. That is to say, he wasn’t causing trouble and letting her take the blame for it. As childish as it was. The two just hadn’t really been able to get along very well since she had joined him on his training. Though now that he was thinking it all over, it had become clear to him that aside from her name, he didn’t really know much about her. Hell he wasn’t even sure why she was there, honestly. Because he had a constant reminder why he was there. If it wasn’t Caesar nagging him and reminding him how important it was that he take the training seriously, it was the hold on his throat and heart. The two toxic rings that had been implanted inside his body whenever he had tried to wiggle them out of a sticky situation. That’s why Joseph was here. In order to free himself of those rings and save the lives of everyone involved, he had to learn how to use his Hamon correctly. And boy that was so much harder than it sounded. Especially since he had been subject to the damn constricting mask that was stuck to his face, with the exception of allowing him to eat.  “Don’t tell me you don’t have a story.” Joseph went on, waving his free hand at her. “I don’t think anyone would just agree to this torture for no reason.”  Teals shifted, if only for a second at that statement, finding their instructor standing with his arms crossed at the entrance into the dining hall. Yeah, he meant what he said. That man was responsible for some the hardest work that Joseph had ever gone through in his life. And his training seemed more like torture to the young man than it did actual training. His extreme and strict tactics were constantly riding on Joseph’s nerves. He could have sworn the man had no concept of danger with the exercises he was always putting them through. And while he had to admit it was doing something, he still hated it and he hated him for it too. But he wasn’t going to let his focus drift away before it was time and so he quickly looked back towards her.
