     Amidst a torrent of spiked limbs and gnashing teeth, she stood with blade in hand and body adorned with lacerations sustained from the fray. The air was pregnant with the stench of iron and decay, the monsters slain already releasing putrid fumes. The ichor in her veins burned hotly as the fever of battle enveloped the entirety of her being. 

     Roxanne was being worn to the core, as she was clearly outnumbered and the barrage of attack were never ending. She was unable to parry most of the blows that her assailants inflicted upon her with their fearsome claws. Consider this may be the last battle that the young hoplite would fight, it wouldn't be long until she would be sliced open and have the foul beasts dine on her entrails. Her grip on her sword was slackening, and her feet grew heavy as lead. And now, they converged on her and she already, prepared for her arrival in the Elysium Fields.

     That was until a blinding light, burst forth and enveloped the combatants. The refulgence seared through eyelids that were shut tight, bringing Roxanne to her knees as she was overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance. This was it, this was the moment where she would depart from the world of the living and find herself within the chthonic realm of Hades. However, it seemed that fate decided otherwise as the light faded to reveal a armour-clad women who stood before her.
