first off, i just want to say thank you all so so much for all of the love and support on the first part!! i have never gotten that much love on a fic before and it was so amazing to see so thank you! i have decided to expand on this, and already am working on part three. once i've finished, i'll post it here and on ao3. i'll be sure to link it here and on the original post. here is part two which is eddie's pov, hope you guys enjoy!
Part Three | read it on ao3
Part Two:
Eddie knows Steve likes him. It’s obvious, so very obvious. He had some suspicions or hope before, but ever since his birthday party Steve has been nothing but doting and sweet. Bringing him food, candy, little gifts whenever they see each other.
It makes Eddie’s stomach twist up in knots. He doesn’t know if these knots are good or bad- doesn’t even want to think about or acknowledge them too much. But he lets Steve keep being sweet on him, because frankly it’s never happened to him before. It seems innocent enough, right?
Eddie doesn’t do love, doesn’t even date. Hookups are so much easier for the most part. They’re perfect right up until someone wants more than Eddie wants to want or give.
Maybe he’s a walking cliche, so screw it. Blame it on his old man, but he never exactly had a great example for how a relationship is supposed to go. Wayne has never dated since he took in Eddie, and Eddie mostly remembers his dad cheating on his mom. Memories of his parent's relationship featuring the yelling that would ensue and how their fights ended with stuff thrown around the house.
So Eddie doesn’t want to date, and he never felt the urge until Harrington fucking came and tied his guts up in this uncomfortable knot anytime he came around.
Steve asks him out. They’re just hanging out at Eddie’s trailer, movie on, snacks laid out, a typical Friday night. Steve’s comfortable in a dark green sweatshirt and jeans, but Eddie sees him fidgeting just a little bit, biting his nails and keeping his back a bit stiff. Doesn’t poke or prod, figures Steve will spit it out when he’s ready. Right after Steve gets up to leave and call it a night, Eddie behind him to walk him out, Steve spins around to ask if Eddie would maybe want to grab dinner with him tomorrow night.
The question is innocent enough, Steve could play it off like he’s asking him as a friend (Eddie is surprised he doesn't), but the tone and inflection and the way he stands conveys he means it like a date. Like he wants something more. Might as well rip that bandaid off for him now. Eddie tells him sorry, it wouldn’t work out and Eddie doesn’t do the whole dating thing. Steve looks heartbroken, just for a quick moment, before looking to the ground muttering out an apology. A good-bye and see you later is all he leaves Eddie with before walking briskly to his car and driving off.
Eddie may have done the right thing, saved Steve from heartache. He wasn’t even as mean about it as he usually has to be, but he can’t understand why he feel so fucking empty and sad about doing it.

Even though Robin tells Steve everything, she doesn’t immediately tell him that her and Nancy are dating. Both Nancy and Robin agreed to wait a bit before telling the rest of their friends that they started seeing each other. They wanted to just enjoy each other, and they both kind of liked the thrill of sneaking around a bit. When everyone went out as a group, Nancy always insists that Robin needs to come with her to the ladies room. Grabbing her hand once they’re a little farther away from the others, sneaking kisses in the hallway. They press their thighs together when they’re seated in the same side of the booth, holding hands or playing footsie underneath the table. They’ll tell everybody eventually that they’re dating, but right now they like the thrill of being secret girlfriends.

Nancy likes that Robin is just a little bit taller than her. Likes that she has to lean up to kiss her. She also likes that Robin gets in so close when she’s talking, animatedly using her hands as she rambles. She likes when Robin goes on rants about people at the video store, what Steve and her did that day, the latest movie she wants to watch with Nancy. She loves to stop her right in the middle of one of her rambles with a kiss, leaning up on her toes just a bit to kiss her softly. Looking up at Robin as she immediately goes speechless and her cheeks flush pink, stammering a bit before she continues on. More than anything else, Nancy really loves Robin.

saw this post about how eddie had a rough childhood and might have trouble accepting love and a relationship. i was also thinking about a past relationship i was in and how much you can break your own heart wanting and pining over things that someone else could never give, so here have some angst.
Part Two | Part Three | read it on ao3
Part One:
Steve is a hopeless romantic, he knows this- has always known this. That's why he serial dates women, hoping to find someone that lights that fire within him, makes him feel whole and wanted and alive.
Maybe he's going out with the wrong girls. Maybe he's not asking the right questions. He never really figures out why it doesn't work out with any of them.
Something about Eddie Munson- yes, Eddie Munson- pulls Steve in. He feels like an enigma, like he knows everything about him and nothing at the same time. Wants to know everything about him, wants to spend every minute he can with him. Eddie is witty, he's funny, he's passionate. He's touchy and clingy in the best way, satiating some touch-starved craving that Steve didn't even realize he had until Eddie became a fixture in his friend group and life.
He gets that tight chest, butterfly, kind of anxious feeling around Eddie and now Steve knows, knows with every fiber of his being that he wants Eddie to be his boyfriend. He doesn't want to use the old Harrington charm, he just wants Eddie to want him as himself.
Steve starts first by being doting. It's Eddie’s birthday and they're all hanging out at Steve's place to celebrate. He sits Eddie down in the most comfortable chair in the living room with everyone, doesn't even let him get up, bring him beer and food and cake and his presents. He wants to show Eddie that he loves him and wants to take care of him. He continues it over the next few weeks, buying Eddie's favorite candy to sneak into the theater, bringing by his gas station order before hanging out or when he knows he'll run into him.
As time passes, Steve feels sick with how much he wants Eddie. He thinks about Eddie cuddling him in his bed, holding his hand, putting his arm around his waist- just being with him and loving him with all his heart. He wants Eddie to love like him back so much it makes his stomach hurt. So when he finally gets the courage to ask Eddie out, and Eddie rejects him. Saying something about how Steve and him wouldn't work out, and that Eddie isn't into dating. Steve's stomach falls straight through the ground as he tries to recover from the devastation.

Eddie begs Steve to rent “The Evil Dead” for their movie date night, and while they’re watching it Steve gets jealous because he can tell Eddie has a crush on Ash. Steve starts pouting so Eddie tries to make him feel better by telling him that he likes Ash because Ash reminds Eddie of Steve. The hair, the brown eyes, being so brave. Steve does feel a little better, but he still pouts the rest of the night.

thank you guys so much for your patience!! i meant to get this out by monday, but i have finals this week so it's been a bit hectic. thank you guys all again so much for your likes, reblogs, tags, and support on the first two parts <3 i hope you guys like the final installment!!
Part One | Part Two | read it on ao3
Part Three:
A few weeks later, once Steve has stomached that Eddie won’t ever be his boyfriend or hold his hand or pet his hair, they return to a semblance of normalcy.
They start hanging out again. Not alone together, but with the rest of the group. Steve tries his hardest to act normal, show no remnants of his crush that’s not quite totally gone. But Eddie still acts standoffish, won’t really meet Steve’s eyes anymore. Steve gets it, he does, honestly, it’ll just take time.
But he still wants, and he still pines- both for a relationship and for Eddie to just be his friend and look at him again. It’s confusing, those butterflies in his stomach don’t fully settle. Steve decides that he wants to maybe try dating again, but no more "Harrington charm" or any of that other bullshit. He vows he’s just going to be himself from now on. Take it slow, and just go with the flow- no pressure dating.
When Eddie invites all the adults to The Hide Out, on a night he doesn’t have a gig, Steve actually meets someone that maybe starts to spark that fire again. She’s the opposite of girls he usually goes for, definitely a metal head and music lover (maybe that's not a coincidence). Her name is Paige, she was raised in Hawkins but moved out to New York City a few years ago and is only back for a little while to visit her family. She’s a bit older than Steve, just two years, but he kind of likes that. She seems equally receptive to Steve’s new view on dating, wanting to take it slow and see where things go, but Steve can see himself potentially dating her more seriously if she decides to stick around Hawkins. They just spend the night talking and getting to know each other more.
_____________________________________
He knows he fucked up, he knows he did. Eddie should have given Steve a chance when he offered it. He feels that ugly, icky feeling in his chest creep up into his throat as he watches Steve and Paige talk all night. They’re leaning into each other and laughing, and Steve is starting to smile for the first time in weeks and Eddie has never been so fucking mad- both at himself and at Paige.
He knows he has no right to feel jealous when he could have just gone to dinner with Steve those few weeks ago. Maybe him and Steve would be pressed into a corner of the bar right now, whispering in each other’s ears. He could have had his arm around Steve’s waist and pressed kisses into his neck when no one was looking, making Steve blush before grabbing his hand to hold for the rest of the night. He could have taken him home where they would maybe roll around in the sheets before cuddling into each other’s arms to sleep.
Eddie may have given it a lot of thought the past few weeks- too much thought even. Regret lingers in his rib cage and settles in his stomach like a paperweight. Something else he gave too much thought to was how he would apologize to Steve. He wanted to buy Steve a drink, explain how he has trust issues and is afraid that good things will always be ripped out from under him. How seeing his old man treat his mom like a commodity and not a wife made him not want to ever date. Thought about how after explaining himself and his insecurities he would ask Steve if maybe he would give Eddie another chance, let him take him to breakfast tomorrow morning if he isn’t too hung over. That’s really why he invited him out tonight actually, but now Steve met Paige and he thinks he might be too late. Might have missed the boat.
Eddie has no choice but live with that regret and wait.
________________________
It’s two weeks later and Steve has had a great time with Paige. They actually ended up hanging out a bit after that night at the bar, just meeting up for lunch and walking around town a bit. But Paige had to go back to the city, and as much as she visited her family, she didn’t want to do long distance. Steve understood wholeheartedly and was just glad to have connected with someone. They exchanged phone numbers, just to keep in touch, for Steve to call if he was ever on the East Coast. He may not have gotten a girlfriend, but he certainly found a new friend in Paige.
But with Paige gone, he now has to confront Eddie. Eddie went from standoffish to full on avoidance of him, it’s not hard to connect the dots. Steve just doesn’t get why it bothered Eddie so much. Should he have been happy that Steve was moving on from him? (Even though Steve didn’t really move on at all).
Turns out, Steve didn’t need to come find Eddie. Instead, Eddie came and found him.
_________________________
Eddie finally gets his shit together and decides that he’s going to tell Steve whether he’s dating again or not.
Eddie decides he’s just going to stop by his house, say his piece, and leave the ball in Steve’s court. He decides to dress up a bit for it. Wears a plain black shirt, his least ripped jeans, and ties his hair back in a low bun. He decides to stop by the market and grab some cheap flowers, Steve always brought Eddie gifts, it’s time for him to return to favor.
He’s full of courage the short drive to Steve’s house, sees his car parked in the driveway. He grabs the flowers, marches up, and rings the doorbell full of vigor.
His heartbeat starts ramping up the minute the chiming is done. All the sudden, he’s nervous, he’s shaky, he’s gripping the flower stems way too tight and must be crushing them and-
Steve opens the door, clearly wasn’t expecting anyone if his outfit is anything to go by, but Eddie still thinks he looks gorgeous and holy shit Steve is just staring at him and he should say something.
Eddie thrusts the flowers into Steve’s chest.
“These are for you.”
“Uhm, thanks.”
Steve looks bewildered, and wary. Looks at the flowers and then back at Eddie.
They both just stare at each other for a minute.
“Do you want to come in?” Steve says, already starting to move to make room for Eddie to enter.
All Eddie can do it nod, feels like everything he wanted to say and do is locked in his throat. He enters Steve’s house and follows him over the couch while Steve sets the flowers down on a table before turning to Eddie expectantly.
This is the part where Eddie should start explaining everything, telling Steve everything and apologizing again.
“Can I take you out to breakfast?” is what Eddie says instead.

Robin and Nancy went out on dates, quite frequently too. They would take turns planning out date nights, sometimes double-dating with Steve and Eddie. One of the best dates Robin planned for them was building a giant blanket fort in her living room, complete with string lights, blankets, and pizza for them to have a movie marathon. The best date Nancy ever planned for them was a picnic, making the sandwiches and baking cookies for her and Robin to share. Laid out on the blanket, enjoying the sun and each other. Even though they always have these amazing dates, Robin's favorite nights are when she's sleeping over at Nancy's house. Maybe sleeping over at your girlfriend's house isn't exactly a "date" but it's still Robin's favorite nights. She likes getting to wear one of Nancy's shirts, cuddling up in her sheets. Her favorite part of their sleepovers is the morning, when they both wake up just a bit too early, staring into each other's eyes and smiling until Nancy leans in to give Robin a lazy morning kiss.

a while ago, i posted this about a steddie iwtv scene and inspiration struck so have this little thing. i did not proofread so excuse any mistakes lol
A crack of thunder filled the air, with marred, red lightning filling the sky.
Steve is running, running like he never has before. Forcing his legs left, right, left, right, left, right, faster, faster, move. As he looks back, he sees Eddie, or rather what was once Eddie, closing in, flying 10 feet above the ground with grotesque flesh wings protruding from his scarred back.
While he was glancing back, he lost his footing, tripping and rolling over the wet ground. Eddie, or Kas as he was now known, took this opportunity to land right in front of Steve.
Steve scrambled back as Eddie landed and crouched down to stare him in the eyes, cocking his head to the side curiously. Steve took stock of Eddie’s appearance then. He was wearing what they had on when they had traversed to the Upside Down last year. Bandana still atop his head, holding his longer, greasy, wet locks in place. His clothing was tattered, stained with dirt and blood, and his face- all the skin exposed, was simply scarred. His eyes were black, pitch black, boring a hole into Steve’s soul.
This is what had become of their friend.
If only they had known, known the fate they were forcing Eddie to succumb to. They should have known, he should have known, that nothing down here can stay dead.
Not Vecna. Not Eddie Munson.
All Steve could do was try to catch his gasping breath while Eddie scanned over him too.
Did Eddie recognize him? Did Eddie remember?
“I didn’t forget, Harrington. I’m not the Devil.” Eddie said, as if he could hear all of Steve’s inner thoughts. Maybe he can now.
Steve wanted to cry, he already mourned him, but all he could choke out was a meek “I’m sorry” as his voiced crack.
“I’d say it’s okay, Harrington,” Eddie started with a wolfish grin, showing Steve his teeth and fangs, “but it’s not. Maybe you can make it better.”
“How-- what?”
“Join me. I can take away that fear, all that sorrow I know you feel deep within,”
Eddie moved slowly, crawling closer to Steve on his hands and knees. Steve didn’t move or dare to speak. He felt his eyes widen at Eddie’s words, as he pressed closer to him, and let him continue.
“I remember when I first saw your pretty face. I can give you that love that you dream of, that you think about constantly. I will take away your pain, joyfully. I can swap this life of fear and pain and sorrow, all you have to do is nod that pretty head yes.”
Perhaps it was possession, for some reason Steve considered this insidious offer. He still had yet to speak; he didn’t know what he wanted to say.
“Be my companion, Steve,” Eddie said softly, almost a whisper, “be and experience all the beautiful things you are for all eternity with me.”
Steve nodded his head. All Eddie did was smile, before he extended his hand to help Steve up.

i'm going to a concert tonight and i always get like excited and nervous energy right before i go, so i wanted to write a little thing about how steve and eddie might feel before a corroded coffin gig! hope you enjoy!!
Eddie never felt nervous preforming. He loved being up on stage with the guys, putting on a show and singing his heart out. That was the fun part always, and Steve loved watching him. But he always felt some fluttering in his stomach the entire day of the concert, some tightness in his chest. Steve loved getting to go to the band's shows, and he would fill up with that excitement throughout the day.
He would spend the afternoon before picking out an outfit, thinking about if he wanted to wear some make-up. The first time he wore make-up for Eddie's show, Robin came over and taught him, but now he's done it enough that he can do it himself pretty well. Sometimes he'll try to match what Eddie's wearing, sometimes he tries something different like a bright pop of color. Tonight he chose to wear one of Eddie's Metallica shirts with dark wash jeans, black and dark blue eyeshadow swiped across his lid. Some nights he'll ride the rail, making faces at Eddie and the guys as they perform. Other nights he hangs more towards the center of the crowds, lets Eddie look for him and holds his gaze once they've found each other's eyes.
After the show, he'll run up to Eddie and hang off his hip the rest of the night, both of them high off the post-concert bliss.

i'm sitting in an airport with a 5 hour layover so please enjoy this snippet from my steddie chasing amy au that i've been working on for almost a year now! i have no clue what the title of this will be and there is still some roadmapping to be done with the story but please enjoy while i lose my mind with boredom
Chicago. 1994.
“This is the best light post you’ve ever drawn.” Steve says, using the chiseled point of his black sharpie to ink in the finer details of the panel.
“Thanks,” Eddie replies as he continues sketching, “it’s the one next to the post office.”
“Looks just like it.”
Most of their days are spent like this. If there isn’t a comic book convention in town, or a meeting with their publisher, their mornings are spent together hunched over their conjoined desks, drawing and inking out their semi-popular “Hawkins Upsidedown” comic. Eddie smokes as he draws, Steve drinks his coffee. It’s peaceful with quiet companionship while they work on the latest issue.
This has been their routine for the past few years. After Robin and Eddie graduated, and as the kids got older, Steve and Eddie decided to pick up their stuff and move to Chicago to write comics. “Hawkins Upsidedown” was based on their adventures, with the kids as the main characters. They cowrote the stories, but Eddie was the main artist, while Steve was the inker-not a tracer.
The phone next to their desks started ringing, Steve moved to grab it.
“Corroded Comics.” Steve said into the receiver.
“Hey, dingus, you guys coming to my panel next Saturday?”
Eddie cocked his head towards Steve, mouthing “who is it?”
“It’s Robin,” Steve mouths back to Eddie, before answering her, “yeah, we’ll be there.”
“Cool, this is my first so I’d like you guys there for moral support. It’s the first time this con is doing a minority writers panel.”
“We’ll be there, Rob, promise.”
“Alright, see you guys then.” The phone call ends with a click.
“What did Rob want?” Eddie asks as Steve sits back down, continuing to sketch on the page.
“Just making sure we’re going to her panel this Saturday at Windy City Con, it’s her first one.”
“Hell yeah, of course we’ll be there.”
Steve and Eddie, having gained decent success from their comic, earning a few features from local newspapers and magazines, typically do signings and some panels at the comic conventions in the mid-West, occasionally traveling out to the East Coast when invited.
For Robin, being featured on a panel was a huge deal, especially one that highlights her as a lesbian comic writer. Steve thought that she deserves the spotlight just as much, if not more than them.
They finish their morning drawing in silence, prepping the final pages to be sent out to the printer next week.

what? dixon's posting something longer than 200 words? wrote this little thing based off my post about eddie begging steve to watch the evil dead. i think i'm gonna make a little collection on ao3 of my longer drabbles/ficlets. anyway, hope you guys enjoy! sorry about any mistakes i didn't proofread lol
Friday night was Steve and Eddie’s weekly tradition that originally started when they were just friends. They would always order a pizza or get burgers, and head over to either person’s house for the night to watch it. When they started dating, they simply carried the tradition over.
Ever since he found out that Family Video got The Evil Dead in stock, Eddie has been begging Steve to rent and watch it. Eddie loved when he saw it in theaters, and since he knew Steve hadn’t seen it, he wanted to watch it for their movie night.
Steve finally gave in. Walking into Eddie’s house, fast food bag and tape in hand. Eddie absolutely lit up, grinning, leaning in to give Steve a kiss before bouncing over to the VCR to put the tape in.
Steve walked over to the couch, putting their food on the table before going to the fridge to grab two beers. He handed one to Eddie before they both settled in on the couch.
The movie was your typical campy horror. The effects were cool, and there was a lot of blood. Steve glanced over to Eddie to gauge his reaction to everything. Something about the look in Eddie’s eyes made Steve realize…
“Dude!”
“What?” Eddie squeaked out, ripping his eyes away from the carnage on screen.
“Do you have a crush on this guy? Is that why you begged me to watch this movie?”
“Uh…uh…” Eddie started darting his eyes elsewhere and fiddling with his rings.
“Oh my god, you do.” Steve crossed his arms and looked back at the television screen. Obviously, it’s okay to have crushes on actors, even Steve has plenty that he thinks are attractive. Still, he pouted while thinking about why Eddie would like this guy. His name is literally Ashley.
“Stevie, baby, do you know why I have a crush on him?” Eddie asked after he noticed Steve starting to sulk.
“I like him because he reminds me of you. I mean, look, you guys both have brown eyes, great hair, you guys are both total badasses…” Eddie trailed off as moved to try to cuddle into Steve.
After looking at him for a while, Steve guessed he could see what Eddie was talking about. The guy did have great hair, and his character wasn’t unlikeable.
“Fine,” Steve grumbled, “I guess I see it.” He still kept his arms crossed and pouted the rest of the movie. Eddie kept trying to give him kisses all over to help him feel better (it totally worked, but he still kept pouting so he could keep getting love).

concrete to leather
pairing: steddie
rating: no rating/general
summary: eddie runs into steve in a place he never expected to find him: a local metal show. inspired by the song "never fight a man with a perm" by the idles, and inspired by the concert i went to last night.
word count: 665
also posted on ao3
Brylcream
Creatine
And a bag of Charlie Sheen
Eddie knocks his leather-clad shoulders into the people circling and stomping around him, bouncing harshly off the other bodies, pushing the people that fell into him. He loves this part of it all- listening to the local bands perform. Loud, passionate vocals and slamming guitar solos, trashing and releasing all of his pent up energy, getting lost in the music, the crowd, the sweaty, swarming bodies in a mosh pit.
It’s a night like any other for him at the club, that is until his eyes land on a familiar face. A face he never expected to see in a place like this.
A dulcet man with a dulcet tone
From a dulcet town and a dulcet home
Steve Harrington, the Steve Harrington. What a fall from grace. The former King of Hawkins gracing freaks and metal heads with his presence, lost at a concert in Indianapolis.
He hates me
I like that
Two arms like big baseball bats
As much as he doesn’t want to admit it, Eddie has never been immune to the allure of the so-called King Harrington. He used to stare at Steve in class, sneaking glances in the hall and in gym class. Simply looking, just admiring Steve’s strong arms, his build. Eddie always thought Steve was built like an Adonis, made to play sports, made for more, made to fight.
I bark
He bites back
A jaw like a fuck off bear trap
Steve catches his gaze, must have felt someone looking at him. Eddie moved out of the edge of the pit, Steve turned and pushed himself away from the bar. Inexplicably, they began to move towards each other. A silent agreement of recognition in a place neither expected to find the other. As they approached one another, Eddie really took in Steve’s face. His jawline, the way his hair fell, the shadow of a mustache beginning to form. Deep brown eyes staring back into deep brown eyes, taking in the details of the other person’s face. He felt nervous and excited at being in Steve’s space. What did he want? What was he doing here?
He thinks he's suave
You're not suave 'cause you watched Get Carter
You are a catalogue, plastic Sinatra
A tryhard, you should've tried harder
They lingered there for a bit, simply staring as they stood in front of each other. Neither dared to speak or move. Suddenly, both of them were grabbed by the shoulders and hauled into the pit just as the band ramped up on a guitar solo. Eddie moved with the flow, trying to see where Steve was pulled to. He spotted him flailing through, so incredibly obvious that he was wildly out of depth. Eddie moved though the pool of bodies, grabbing Steve by his forearm and yanking them both out and farther away from the pit, into a more secluded part of the venue.
He let Steve catch his breath, get his bearing again. Both of them had gotten sweaty in that short amount of time, heat and alcohol not helping. Steve looked back at Eddie, both of them still panting. Eddie watched him closely, noticed Steve’s gaze kept moving from Eddie’s eyes to his mouth. Eddie licked the sweat off his lips, noticed they were both leaning closer together.
It was hard to tell who moved first, suddenly Steve had his hands resting on the sides of Eddie’s neck as he kissed him while Eddie grabbed Steve by the waist. They moved in sync, still kissing, until Eddie’s back hit the closest wall. Eddie bit Steve’s lip and used his gasp as an opportunity to deepen the kiss. Both men groaned at the feeling, pulled the other in tighter.
They kept like that for what felt like hours. Finally, they both separated to get some air.
“Want to get out of here?” Steve whispered.
“Yeah, definitely.” Eddie replied, taking Steve’s hand and pulling them out the side entrance.
