A/N: hello, and thanks for the request. I'm sorry it took so long, but it's like 4am, the insomnia is my best friend and my fixation for this man is literally to the stars. It's a bit short, but I hope you will like it! <3

The room was dimly lit, only the moonlight casting its light on the objects around you, the air scented with lavender from the candle on the nightstand.

Your hands moved down his back, pressing into the muscle and feeling the spine beneath, admiring the scars that littered his pale skin, hearing him exhale a sigh of relief as he lay on his stomach on your bed while you sat at his side.

"It was one of my worst missions..." he murmured, not sure if he was speaking directly to you. "And we failed."

You listen in silence, still moving your hands from his lower back to his shoulder, feeling him relax under your touch.

"Rodion is hurt, as are Maxim and Nikto. I made the wrong choice, and they could all be-"

Feeling him tense again, you move from his side to his front, forcing him to face you, watching him fight back tears. You reach for his face, gently stroking his cheeks as he leans into your gentle touch.

"They are alive. They trust you. Everything is fine and will be tomorrow and the day after.  He nods, lets out a breath and sits down in front of you, taking your hands in his and kissing them, his lips brushing against your soft skin.

You gesture for him to come closer, his body finding comfort and warmth in your arms as you hold him tight.

"Я люблю тебя," he whispers, his lips now on your neck, tickling you and making you smile. He feels lucky to have you by his side.
