So maybe it was wrong of him- doing what he did, saying what he said, feeling what he felt. But he apologized for it. Sure, he didn't mean it, but it’s the thought that counts. Right? Kyle Gladestone, son of Gilbert Gladestone and Jolene Gladestone was a cheat, a thief, an egg hatcher of a planner yet he'd never felt more defeated than he did in that moment. Lightning crashed in the background as if to mimic the clashing sounds of a broken heart. A thunder rolled which supplied a shiver of loneliness that he had experienced for the first time in a long time. 

 He was certain he'd witnessed the last of his Renjae before his eyes. Taking those chicken nuggets and shoving them in his fanny pack was the last scene Kyle would cause during their DND nights. It was over. He was done. For good. He’d spoken his peace, and left it there with their friends.

There are certain things that are hard to describe. Certain emotions are bottled up and kept safe in a decaying heart. But those things, Kyle learned, surface really fast when the heart wants what it wants. 

It was short and quick, and given Renjae’s silence, Kyle could tell there was something on his mind. Why not address it? 

Of course, Ren wouldn’t. He hadn’t. Maybe he didn’t feel the same way after all.

So sidebars- Kyle was checking those off his lists of how to win Renjae back, along with holding hands at Tabletop Gameshops, feeding him chicken nuggets in front of his boyfriend, and of course, no squirrel watching of any kind. Holding hands, now that was something he'd miss. His fist tightened its grip on that rubber rain coat as he stormed out of that penthouse or where ever it was they were, and he ignored, should anyone else in the group had been or were calling his name. 

He shook his head in a flinch as raindrops hit his head. The first sizzle would cease, so long as he hand those rain boots on. And yes, like any other sting or zap it hurt, but that pain was temporary to the one he felt in his heart. Thus, he took off. 

When you carpool to DND, you don't really have a chance in walking home after ruining the game. But still, Kyle wasn't sorry for that moment. He'd finally said it, plain and simple. Side-barring, " You know, Ren, I'm just going to say it. You look happy, and I'm happy for you, because I love you. I always have."

But faltering words caused a grimace in the face that was soon beginning to tear. " So just be happy with him. " The words repeated in his head even as the puddles of water splashed against his rain boots. 

Taking out his phone, he thought it best to call his mother to pick him up-- she'd understand, but the voice of Renjae called after him, which made him whip around immediately. 

 "What, Ren?" Okay so his tone could be worked on, but what did Renjae expect after such a confession. He was embarrassed, mad that he lost, upset, worried that he'd lost his best friend, and heartbroken, utterly heartbroken. It was hard to not let the emotions speak for themselves after they'd finally come out. "What do you want? Why are you following me? " He frowned, no pouted, a lip in trembling protrusion betrayed the anger in his voice. 

"Just leave me alone, I'll do the same. Be happy with Tedd and I'll move on. It should be easy right? I said I love you, now I’m going to let you go. Let me.  "

Who pulls the other closer while sleeping?

Kyle is probably all over the place when he sleeps bcs the triplets had to get it from somewhere. So I imagine Renjae trying his hardest to scoop Kyle into the appropriate position by grabbing forst, but also Kyle noticing this would also just “B’) Nice.” and be okay with it. The moment Renjae lets go though, it’s all out war to try and get back into some Renjae arms.

How do they wake up next to each other? Ex - Tangled in each other’s arms? Is one falling off the bed? ECT.

Before the triplets, tangled or Kyle falling off. After the triplets 100% both.

What movie do they watch when they both had a bad day and just want to turn off their brains for a little while?

Kyle suggests Shrek 2 always. Or Bachelor or John Wick. 

Who picks something up, says a pun with the object then laughs as if it’s the funniest thing they ever heard?

I imagine it was always Kyle because he learned from the best, Mr. Gladestone. Over the years, Renjae has started surprising Kyle by besting him at his game. Kyle falls over laughing and the kiddos roll their eyes because “Dad it wasn’t that funny”

How do they hype one another up?

Kyle tries his hardest to embarrass Renjae probably. Calling out a suit and how nice it looks, and how much he’d wish the lawyer would sue him.  Kyle teases the glasses too.  Literally that’s it. Kyle teases Renjae.

When one of them gets a new outfit, how does the other react?

Kyle: Did you pay for that? I could have gotten that for free. Renjae: Did you steal that? 

Who tries to playfully scare the other person and who always knows where the other person is?

Renjae is too perceptive. He is always two steps ahead, and that just means Kyle has to try harder. The triplets have joined in on the fun. 

When they grocery shop, what is one section they love to plaufully mess around in and why?

Kyle doesn’t shop. He only plays in grocery stores wym. Renjae probably gets annoyed too 

When their partner has a bad day, what is something the other picks up to try and make their day a little better? Ex - Fast food, flowers, a punny card, ect. Who runs up and hugs their partner while the other catches them?

Kyle shares funny pictures of the triplets. If it’s a really bad day Renjae gets a back rub, and a stolen rolex, likely. Or eggs. Eggs are probably most accurate. Or Kyle offers to watch the cute boy gay anime with him but only when the eggs don’t work their magic, and when it’s the swimming anime. 

What song reminds them of each other?

Journey-Faithfully, because Kyle still gets drunk and sings it to Renjae, and totally sang it at their wedding.

Who presses their nose against their partner’s cheek before kissing them?

Renjae probably has to press his nose against Kyle’s cheek to prevent the lip shockies and zappies. Kyle would do the same because cheeks are better for shockies than lips probably.

What small quirks do they love about each other?

It’s a love and hate relationship with Renjae always wanting to be right since it mostly ends up in an epic argument.  Kyle still only folds the sheets perfectly sometimes but with a smirk. 

Who accidentally snorts when they laugh and that makes both of them laugh harder?

I imagine there are instances of both of them doing so. Kyle’s pretty funny, but sometimes Renjae can be funny too.

What are somethings that they do for one another because they know their partner hates it? Ex- do the dishes, phones to make an order, talks to sales clerk. ECT

Renjae does the grocery shopping because Kyle refuses. Also Renjae does the spanks of course XDD

Wearing sunglasses indoors, while tacky and unnecessary, was a stylistic choice Kyle often indulged shamelessly. Though this time, he’d argue that they were entirely necessary. The nerdiness of the place had him silently squirming in his own skin. It felt like a disease he could catch if the skin of a fellow con-goer rubbed against his. He made sure to zip his hobo hoodie up to his chest, conceal his one eyeball and spare socket, and carried a couple of bottles of hand sanitizer in his fanny pack. Over-looking the convention, the tall neck of his tried to read the signs that were sectioned off, “What’s this guy’s name again?”

Despite the trials of experiencing all that was Renjae and TEDD’s STUPID RELATIONSHIP, Kyle out of the goodness of his heart, AND NOTHING ELSE (NOPE THIS WASN’T AN ATTEMPT TO WIN RENJAE BACK AT ALL. LITERALLY IT’S JUST THE WILLINGNESS TO DO SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE HE OBVIOUSLY STILL CARED ABOUT THAT WAS ACTUALLY QUITE OUT OF HIS COMFORT ZONE. LIKE AFTER ALL KYLE IS 100% NOT A NERD AND DOESN’T BELONG HERE) agreed to join Renjae in meeting someone who meant a lot to him and his gay anime shows.

“And which show was it again? I feel like we’ve watched so many together at this point that they kind of blur together. Or…” he rubbed the skin at his chin, “Maybe I was just too busy paying attention to other things.” A sly smirk was placed on his lips as he spoke, and despite the dodging of the enormous crowd of people around them, had stayed there since the moment Renjae had asked Kyle and not Tedd to come with him. 

He fashioned his sunglasses a little more securely on his nose as he sighed, “You know this isn’t so bad, given the alone time we finally have. Not that I’m complaining or anything, Tedd’s a total ten with his whole two eyes...” The humor he tried to supply, even he could admit, was a little too self-deprecating, though it’d give Scout a run for her money. A roll of his single eye behind sunglasses would polish that statement.
