thinking about how dream doesn't really smile and lies on the ground while performing panic attack. because it's still real. even though george has the more permanent visa and The Wait is over, there is always a sadness and fear of losing him again. he still can't breathe when george is not there. and The Wait still is a bittersweet time to think about. thinking of losing him again is too much.

on the other hand, he always smiles so big during paranoid, even though it's a song about being scared of falling in love. the feelings that those thoughts bring to him have changed. he isn't scared to be in love anymore. he loves george with all his being and he loves and loves. he smiles while singing about things that he can't avoid, like him needing george to fill the void, because he is there. he has him. he doesn't avoid it anymore, he embraces loving george. there are no more 2 am texts that he'll never send, because now he can lay by his side. there is no more "once again i have a person who won't be just a friend" because he loves that he isn't just a friend. he doesn't have to pretend, he isn't on the fence, he doesn't even want to try to hide it--he wants george in the spotlight and he will sing about the superstar of his life. he is just so unbelievably in love and he isn't scared of it, not anymore. it's a breath of fresh air, loving george like he does, not uncertain and conflicting with his trust issues. the lyrics are a bit bittersweet, the self doubts of needing someone, but now that he knows that it's ok to need someone this much, to love this much, he is happy, and so he smiles.
