Today I should have spent my time tasting crafted treats in a cloakroom with friends Yves & Olivier and handing out boxes of bottled goodies... but COVID-19 happened and turned the world upside down. I am now crossing my fingers that I’ll be in Brussels next year for a 2021 edition of the BXLBeerFest that will go through without problems. So, sadly an empty BXLBeerFest glass next to a delicious craft ‘keep out of my bubble’ Van Mijn Erf! sour Saison from Dok Brewing Company. With a label like this, I just had grab a handful like a gluttonous (fill in the blank); and I’m glad I did because this Sticky Wings, a Double Mash Imperial Rye Stout (DMIRS?🙃), was simply rich dark & delicious - double YUM! I can’t wait to try more beers from Dok Brewing Co (Oost-Vlaanderen) this weekend at @bxlbeerfest ... as well as other lovelies from all the other participating breweries. I’m blaming this one on my reading glasses... a week ago I purchased this lovely hoppy citrus tropical fruity Met Je Moersleutel Tegen De Dampoort, a collab Triple NE IPA from Dok Brewing Co (on the Dampoort) and Brouwerij De Moersleutel (Zomerdijk Brewing and Blending, Alkmaar, the Netherlands), and today I figured it would be the perfect beer to start with, but I hadn’t read the word “Triple”, and I hadn’t see the 10% ABV, so after already taking the plunge I’m feeling pretty good right now, and dinner’s not yet serve. And now it’s raining on me... no worries.
