notes from watching The Two Towers today, which I only saw once before, in theaters when it first came out 20+ years ago:
I feel like the passage of time is felt clearly in the fact that when I first saw this, I thought Legolas was the most beautiful person ever, and now I'm like oh yeah give me dirty sweaty Aragorn ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
honestly the vee of his shirt with the necklace hanging under the clasp of his cloak? ๐Ÿฅต someone in wardrobe knew what they were doing
me & Mr. Lita looking at Eomer like wait we know that dude....hi Karl Urban I forgot you were in this movie!
my kids had a lot of "wait who's that guy?" and "what's going on?" in this one, and as part of that my kid was like "I thought all the elves were girls," and I was like, what are you talking about, there's Legolas who's there all the time, and that's how I discovered she thought Legolas was a girl all this time ๐Ÿ˜Œ (anyway I reminded her that long hair does not necessarily mean someone is a girl haha)
lots of Legolas/Gimli moments in this one but Mr. Lita and I were both like "now kiss" @ Sam and Frodo far more
for the most part I like watching the theatrical releases because scenes that get cut get cut for a reason and I'm not patient enough to sit through a four hour movie, three is already pushing it, but I am left with questions about things that are probably explained in the extended edition, such as: why is Elrond sending everyone off on these ships but he himself isn't going? (sidebar: I have only read Fellowship of the Ring, I never read the rest, bc after reading that one which I did after seeing the movie I was like "no wonder they cut out so much, there's way too much irrelevant filler here")
Eowyn seems cool, too bad all she got to do in this one was rebuff a sleazeball and undress Aragorn with her eyes (can't blame her for that)
