WEEK 11 2020VVCAL by @cypresstextiles Here is the next six squares in our journey of this slightly edited blanket of #vvcal 2020. The first photo has all six cuties tucked in their bands of yarn so let’s go and explore our destination cities as well as the two odd ball squares for this week. The second photo is of our first destination the city of Hong Kong! Have you ever been? Neither have I but I hear it is amazing! Hong Kong is sporting #scheepjes River Washed Nile and Stone Washed Rose Quartz. Very pretty! The third picture is our second destination this week, Copenhagen, showing off in the beautiful Stone Washed Lilac Quartz and Lepidolite, such beautiful colors! The fourth photo is our two odd balls. We have the Australian Gum Tree square from the 2018VVCAL in Stone Washed Rose Quartz, who wore it best? Then the second odd ball is the William Square from the 2016VVCAL in River Washed Ganges! Got my #yarn order for my #2022temperatureblanket linen stitch square for January so far. Love this pattern from @tlyarncrafts for so many reasons. It’s going to be awesome to be able to see one month at a time. I’m also using #scheepjes #sheepjessoftfun for the first time and I really like it. VVCAL 2020 WEEK 4 by @cypresstextiles I know I’ve missed the past two weeks, so sorry about that but I’m here again sharing some wonderful crochet work! Here is week four of #vvcal2020 We have seven wonderful squares allow me to share them with you. Remember this is a modified version because I’ve already done the original now I’m combining all three of her square #vvcal The second picture shows three squares then two squares underneath them. We’ll talk about the three first. They are from previous VVCAL’s. The 2016 VVCAL Denton square is the left square. The middle and far right are from the VVCAL 2018 Maple and Cherry Blossom! Now the bottom two squares and the third picture are from the VVCAL 2020. First is Berlin which is the two bottom squares in the second picture. Then we have Dubai in the third photo! I really love how this blanket is turning out! I’ve used #scheepjescolourpack Stone/River Washed cutie pies for this blanket! Charlotte Sunshine Baby Blanket by Misty Babcock Sorry I’ve been a little MIA! Christmas has become a little heavy hearted since I lost my dad three years ago the day after Christmas. Well this year was particularly heavy hearted, his mother my grandmother, passed away on Christmas Eve. 😢 So you can see it’s been a little rough! Now back to this post! This is a combination of two gorgeous blankets and personal modifications by winklepicker (Misty Babcock) on Ravelry. I am glad someone finally decided to have a girl! LOL!!! I chose to use Cream and Garnet, the second color because it is a January baby! This is the birth Stone for the month! The yarn is @scheepjes Chunky Monkey Aran weight,gorgeous soft yarn! VVCAL 2020 by @cypresstextiles I cannot share the whole blanket at this time but because so many followed my journey making this blanket I thought I’d share the artistic flavor of the border! I am beyond proud of this blanket and cannot wait for the recipient to receive her! I’m so thankful that this project came along when it did and I have sense made all three VVCALS (2016, 2018 REBOOT, and two 2020). Each is similar yet different depending on the recipient. Once they all have arrived I’ll share them in their entirety with my Instagram FAM!! Hard at work doing the finishing on two and hoping I may get that fifth blanket done still before the end of the year! I’ve more things to share in the upcoming days, until then, be safe, make good choices, and hook on! HAPPY MAIL MONDAY brought to you by @dotsyarnden Ordered the yarn to tackle Charlotte’s Sunshine Baby Blanket; never used Chunky Monkey but it is so squishy!!! Then of course one of my favorite creators announced her next CAL and I couldn’t refuse! @cypresstextiles is doing her Gloria Blanket! Marie my savior had just eight 50g balls and I needed 18 she also sold me her 20 balls of 25g to meet my needs and priced them at the price to equal the 50g balls! WEEK 10 VVCAL 2020 by @cypresstextiles Man this has been late sorry about that, forgot to put this up on Monday. Here is week 10 of my slightly altered #vvcal2020 blanket. This week we have Istanbul and Florence for our destinations! The second photo has all six squares this week starting in order of yarn! Lol! Yes the top and bottoms are identical squares until you get to the last two, those I stole from the VVCAL2016. We start with Florence Square in #scheepjes Stone Wash in Tourmaline (pinky color top left)and Axinite (off-white color bottom left). Next we visit Istanbul with our two middle squares in Scheepjes River Wash Rhine (blueish green top middle) and then Narmada (greenish yellow bottom middle). Finally we are greeted by the lovely 2016VVCAL and they are Lincoln (green top square farthest on the right) and Lupita (reddish orange bottom farthest on the right) also in Scheepjes River Wash. Week 7 2020 VVCAL by @cypresstextiles Here is week 7 from the #vvcal2020 modified version I’m doing. My version is incorporating the 2020VVCAL, 2018VVCAL, and the 2016VVCAL. These blankets are such wonderful gifts and are absolutely gorgeous and fun to make. I’m currently using a @scheepjes Colour Packs, yes two of them, in the cutie Stone/River Washed packs to create the squares. I love using these packs and you can find them locally here in the USA at @dotsyarnden! This week brings us to Barcelona and Venice for the #vvcal which are pictured together is the second picture as well as in the third picture we have Faith from the 2016 and Palm Tree from the 2018! WWEK 14 VVCAL2020 by @cypresstextiles I’m going to be honest here, I hate that the black square was used on the city square Vienna, only because you can’t see the lovely design of the square itself! As I understand it was randomly drawn for that week just such a shame, the pink one at least you can see the design! CITY SQUARES As stated above we have Vienna which is the black and pink squares while Vancouver is the brown and dark blue squares for this week! Both lovely designs, the black Vienna square was a bit difficult due to lighting issues and seeing the stitches! Think those light up crochet hooks would have been a life saver! 🧐🤣😂😜 I added back in close ups of the city squares so you can see the stitches, I think it is awesome to see what makes up the squares!
