Every day I am tortured by the fact there are things in Danganronpa 3 that are conceptually interesting (such as the whole thing of "Makoto usually compares himself to others" being flipped, others comparing themselves to Makoto, with Mitarai's high opinion of Makoto vs his own belief that he couldn't do anything leading him to conclude "well there's absolutely no way everyone can deal with despair and death like Makoto did so I have to brainwash the world into permanent hope" and Sakakura's hatred of Makoto coming from how Makoto stood where he was unable to stand) but the execution and implementation of those ideas were almost universally botched

#ooc ramblings.#ryota's opinion of Makoto also falls into the incorrect hero worship that doesn't understand Makoto and isolates him... honestly very few #people in universe completely understand Makoto after DR1 #tormented by how Kirigiri didn't want Makoto to change but she is the one who gave him the Ultimate Hope title in the first place. i love #their relationship sm it's so multidimensional and reducing it to simple girlboss and malewife is always Not Good #dr3 should have been a video game i will not budge on that!!#and despair arc probably shouldn't have existed. How Junko was able to worm herself into the heads of the 77th class being unexplained #was a lot more compelling since playing the game you could see reasons why everyone in the class was susceptible to that #or at least despair arc should have been much different imo
