Maybe a controversial opinion here... but I feel like *some* people on there expect to be like friends with him after all this is over? It's definitely the parasocial aspect, but it's not like once he gets out, he's going to check his mentions and start interacting with these people. He's not going to turn into some influencer; he'll probably make a statement expressing his gratitude and then lay low for a long time. Idk it just feels like some people are expecting something out of it.
Oh you're definitely spot on I've personally seen tweets like oh imagine when he gets out and decides to be friends with people on here or who send him letters and I'm like that's probably the last thing that would be on his mind.
He has a family and real friends to go back to, deal with everything that's going mentally, emotional, physically, try to settle back into the new normal etc.
People keep forgetting he is not a celebrity neither did he ever seem to want to be one.
phew, I'm glad someone agrees with me. I don't want to call his supporters 'stans' but some definitely have a 'stantwt' attitude towards Luigi. I've seen people theorising if he'll follow them back and stuff like that. I think some people forget it will take him a very long time to recover from this experience :(

Hashbrown Holli confirming the mods of FL asked her to lie and say her letter is fake.

This is INSANE
“We're trying to communicate with his legal team now to try and break through to him, but when he was writing your letter he seemed like he wasn't in the right mental state and he said things that he shouldn't have said”
this is a crazy thing to say over a letter that wasn’t even incriminating??

The way they've handled this case is so fucking weird.
Thank you for sharing this with me! These people are INSANE. Openly admitting that they were looking for someone attractive is so fucking weird??? The way they have handled this is so disgusting and now an innocent mans life is at stake.

I think there’s an underlying element of jealousy in their sadism. While his overall situation is due to the diktats of the 1%, the day-to-day dehumanising and humiliation is down to the fact that the people handling him get off to hurting someone like him.
Luigi is immensely popular with women, and he’s so beloved by us precisely because he’s the exact opposite of what these sigma alpha uggos think we want. The redpill psychos will have you believe that women are naturally attracted to toxic, middle aged, unnaturally jacked, dominating wealthy men. And all of that goes down the gutter when you see the immense support for a young, slender, naturally attractive, sensitive, principled young man who exudes positive masculinity. Those are things you can’t buy or bully or steroid your way into, and it makes men seethe.
He is the counterpart to the Musks and Tates of the world. Real female preferences piss bottom barrel men off because frankly only 1% of them qualify. And the people who have him are basically the definition of low quality pigs.
So they get off to having power over him. They make sure to unnecessarily touch him, drag him around by the belt like he’s a leashed animal, and god knows what they’ve done to him when no one’s watching. They’re punishing him for being the kind of person they could never hope to be in their wildest dreams. These cops surrounding him, they’ll never have even 0.01% percent of genuine desire or admiration that Luigi generates simply by wriggling a finger. The baldies hauling him around go home to wives who are 100% wishing they were with a man like Luigi instead. So they get mad and grip his arms a little tighter because it’s the only way they can release any frustration.
This case has really highlighted how nasty so many men are. All of those jokes about him getting SAed in prison, about him only leaving in a body bag - all men. I feel like he had much more male support before his identity was revealed. Now that they know he’s hot they want him to be crucified.
I agree 10000%!! When I was watching the live stream in the courthouse on Friday, it was so obvious how much these cops hate Luigi and his supporters.
They get such a power trip from being around him (especially the PA cops), whether that be taking pictures of him to humiliate him or that time they threw him into the wall.

THIS!!! I see a lot of men saying these things on twitter which makes sense because thanks to musk its now filled with incel n@zi's. I saw a tweet with over 100k calling Luigi's female supporters in the courthouse a bunch of 'gooners'. A lot of these men cannot suppress their jealousy, and it manifests into anger and violence against Luigi and his female supporters. But anytime a man or just anything in general has a large female following, there will always be misogynists trying to undermine them.
Unfortunately, Luigi is such a rare type of man, especially in Gen Z. Men like Luigi are a dying breed. While Luigi is physically attractive, he is also kind, generous, educated and wants to learn more about the world and their cultures. Which I just think is really rare to find now.

I feel like crying every time I think of how basically everyone wants to take advantage of him.
People faking letters from him making him sound like an insensitive douche, when he’s rotting in prison and can’t defend himself.
The media calling him a terrorist but also profiting from sexualising him and flashing his cuffed limbs all over the news.
Jessica Tisch and her ilk wanting to fuck him all while violating his rights and framing him for murder. All those comments about his jaw, his eyebrows, and then they march him around like a trophy.
Now a long standing TV show fucking over a respected professional who was their consultant for several years by portraying her client as guilty with absolutely zero proof?
And we’re only 3 months in. I can’t imagine how sobering, how utterly devastating this has to be for him.
By all accounts he’s a clean-hearted considerate man who chose to conduct himself with kindness no matter the situation. Even at the cost of being taken advantage of.
I really hope he realises that most of us support him and want no part in this BS. I hope this experience doesn’t turn him bitter. He has enough going on considering his day to day reality. He doesn’t need to wake up every day wondering what new smear campaign is being launched against him.
It's so frustrating to see the lengths people will go to try and ruin his image and interfere with his right to a fair trial.

I actually wanna slap this to people who talk shit about Karen because why do you want him and his team less prepared with a definite indictment over his head when right now they have a chance to even waive off the whole federal case and the fact this timeline is completely normal, infact the state indictment was very fact considering everything ( my guess is they wanted to soothe the rich people who were calling and complaining)

i agree with this reply as well Sarena used to be a prosecutor and works in ny law so i value opinions like this way more than armchair lawyers

The mod’s name is Ashley and she’s the most overzealous mod I have ever come across on Reddit. Every comment on FreeLuigi has to be manually approved which is bonkers because the sub has like 37k members. Hands out bans like candy even when posts/comments are supportive of him, which is very confusing.
That sub has been planning a birthday card for Luigi which was suspicious because there’s no way it would make it through MDC’s censoring. People would only get their names on the card if they donated (I am unsure if this had to go to his legal fund or someplace else; I’m not on the discord and someone on Reddit who’s on it said she’s a Zionist and wanted to use some of that $ to go to Israel)
A few people started questioning the mods because the whole project resembled a massive fan tribute to a teenager heartthrob rather than an unnecessary distraction for a prisoner with much bigger problems. They hinted that they have a contact on the inside which is the only thing that makes sense because only his lawyers would be allowed to show it to him during a legal visit.
The pictures of the heart shaped notes that KFA posted have names censored, but the initial response from the prosecution mentioned that the second note was addressed to a Joan. Running theory is this Joan is Joan Vollero, Agnifilo Intrater’s PR person. Which means she has some sort of working relationship with the people who run FreeLuigi, to the point that they are coordinating birthday cards and even letting them contribute to (if not entirely pick out) his wardrobe. Which is deeply ridiculous and unprofessional on their part because as his legal team they need to maintain a separation from the delusional fan girls. Note also implies a longer cooperation between them, note writer thanks Joan for letting her be involved.
Mod Ashley has denied all involvement with the sock fiasco but there’s a reason KFA left the “R/FreeLuigi” uncensored in her picture. If it came from a random user they would not be referencing the sub. Only makes sense coming from a mod/multiple mods since they’d be representing the sub.
She runs that subreddit like the navy lmao her reasons for bans are so weird, which is why I rarely comment on the sub.
I was really confused about that birthday card when it was first announced because if she didn't have an inside source, it would never reach him in time. I remember seeing a post asking what colour jumper he should wear to the court hearing, and everyone said green and then boom, he wore green. I was under the impression it was Karen who picked the jumper, but the pr lady Joan, having a say in it makes sense if she was in contact with the mod.
I remember Ashley saying she had a source to confirm a reply that was posted and was also working with said source to confirm the letters needing signatures, so it would make sense joan to be her source.

I wanna hear your analysis about the clothes 👀
thank you for asking this I have been dying to talk about it with someone!!
Having Luigi and Karen match clothing/colours shows their strong solidarity. It gives them a strong unified look. They resemble almost like mother and son. Also a fantastic idea to have Marc show up in matching ties as well it shows even Marc is fully behind Luigi.
so far it's been a deliberate choice not to put him in a suit. Putting him in a suit may make him appear older. His outfits so far have been very youthful and preppy. Putting him in these preppy clothes makes him look more confident and sophisticated it works well with his Ivy League background. It would have been easier to just throw a suit on him but Karen has chosen to dress him in quarter zips and jumpers. I believe she's done this to reiterate how young he is because 26 is young! He is a young man going through a horrific situation.
The matching attire is an easy way for Karen to show she 100% supports him and it's also very cute.
she said this when asked about the matching attire (I love her)

you remember the girl who called him stupid for sending letters? She got his initials tattooed, apparently his correspondence means he is in love with her according to her. This just seems like she has issues.
I do worry about his safety if he gets out, these fucking weirdos won't let him live in peace, because wdym a thank you letter to your letter is him professing his love.
SHE GOT HIS INITIALS TATTOOED???? Concerningly theres quite a few women who have gotten replies and think that he’s in love with them.
These are the type of supporters who can turn stalker ish very quickly. Scary stuff.

I’m kinda heartbroken that at some point we’ll probably never hear from Luigi again. Either he’s going to get a long sentence and supporters will leak the occasional handwritten letter, or he’ll walk free and live the rest of his years in hiding because his life is in danger even if he’s acquitted.
I know he didn’t sign up to be a celebrity, and I always feel torn when I consume information that he probably never expected would be out there - his vulnerability when he talked about his back on Reddit, a throwaway comment about his ex’s boss on Goodreads, his blurry face in the background of some mundane school competition.
I have, however, grown extremely fond of and attached to this person I will never meet and I guess I’m just one of millions who feel this way. I know he doesn’t owe us anything, least of all our need to perceive him, to know him. His privacy has been invaded so utterly and thoroughly that I imagine it’d break his brain a little even if all the response is positive.
But I do feel a pang that at some point we’re going to stop following along on his journey. I spend so much time worrying about him, hoping he’s okay in prison. Not only am I worried about his fate, I fear we’ll ultimately not even know how this ends for him. Is he ever going to end up happy? Will be ever be at peace again? And part of his healing is probably for nosy people like me *not* to know how his life ends up, but god I can’t help wondering.
I feel the same. I pray that he will go free and be able to live his life, but then I can't help but think about how he will never be able to go back to his old life. He has essentially become a celebrity, and the media and those hardcore fans who borderline on being stalkers will hound him for decades, potentially the rest of his life. like you said he will be in danger even if he gets acquitted. I just hope he can find peace, happiness and safety one day.
I can relate to the part about the day we will stop following along on his journey because I can't help but think about what will happen to the wonderful community he has unintentionally created. Even after the trial is over a few people will stick around but it will eventually dwindle.

Twitter group of supporters is very very weird regarding Luigi 😭 especially the damn letters, I get not wanting to share for privacy reasons but none of them know how the actual law works "anything he says can be used against him" yes and him saying he is only guilty of eating a hash brown (he literally pled not guilty) or joking about not looking his best after spending time in solitary ( probably true to him ) is not incriminating, neither is him offering his condolences to the mother for having to deal with insurance while her child was ill. Literally the most that and can will happen is that the media will pick it up which is unfortunate- but they just make up shit either way as portrayed by the very recent tape scandal. And their solution to keep the letters on the low is to go talk about them, continuously, in public. How does that work lmao.
He is not a child, he knows these are being shared, the one he really really didn't want to get shared he specially mentioned to the party girls about keeping the contents private. He is 26, he knows how the internet works.
And he has more stake in himself not getting a death penalty than any of us tbh.
They are very protective of Luigi on twitter, which comes as a double-edged sword. It's nice that they want to protect him, but then they crash out over the smallest things, like the motel video. He's probably been told by his legal team exactly what he's not allowed to say in his letters, and I don't think he's stupid enough to ever write something incriminating.

According to Karen the federal prosecutors don't want to seek DP it's all on the AG and yeah the whole statement, I agree.

I kept thinking about how the "outburst" was them seeing a different side to him too which he had every right to be angry and frustrated.
Also I wanna point out he didn't even start off really angry or agressive, he was addressing the media in a normal tone and raised his voice after he was being physically restrained and pushed and he still wasn't violently reactive. That's why all msm only use picture and not the video because to call that outburst is truly embarrassing
The most pissed off I've seen him was the day of the 1st federal court appearance before being extradited to New York. He probably heard the news of getting charged federally with possibility of DP from Dickey. People were going on and on about how he was "mewing" he just looked mad as hell to me.
I remember people being like “he’s posing for the camera he obviously knows about the tiktok edits 🤭” like be fr he was obviously very pissed off the last thing he would’ve been thinking about was posing for the camera. he was pissed as hell and trying to keep his composure.

Personally i always have a packet of paracetamol on me so him carrying pills is not unusual to me 😭
Lmao thank you for confirming I'm not crazy 😭😭 because I was on Instagram and everyone was like why and what pills did he have because he said he didn't have any addiction And I was literally like ?!?!?!? Like even if you are someone who is "healthy" and doesn't need to keep anything with you so this seems odd to you, someone who has been living out of a backpack keeping different ones on them is reasonable especially because that someone has chronic health issues like wdym y'all are jumping to addiction before any common sense guess 😭😭
I've never looked at luigi instagram, and I don't think I want to 😭

why is this man always apologizing like you don't have to do that bro 😭😭😭
I saw someone on twitter said "he has to get meaner" lol
I think the first thing luigi doing is apologising after getting arrested says so much about his character :(
I feel like he is that type of person where it takes a lot for him to get angry like when we were saw him lash out outside the courtroom that frustration and anger must have been building within him since the arrest.
But yeah that man does apologise a lot like luigi they are arresting you there is no need to apologise to them 😭

So I read the whole book. I think absolutely everything about Luigi’s involvement in the shooting is a lie and pieced together from his social media and post arrest revelations. But I do think the texts and the human parts are real.
The writer says that Luigi claimed to be a middle child (this actually made it more believable to me, I think he drew parallels between his family’s disapproval of his choices and the stereotypical neglect often faced by middle children) and that the fancy school his parents sent him to felt like a prison. He said his father was the strict one. In his yearbook, he thanked his parents for sending him to Gilman despite “hating it at first” which seems like a very strong reaction from a young child being sent to a shiny school with every possible amenity. He alludes to it again in his valedictorian speech, saying his parents sacrificed a lot to get him there. The idea of a child feeling like the place where he spends most of his waking hours is a prison makes me really sad. And now he’s in an actual prison :(
I agree with your reply to a previous ask, university was probably the first time he could really be his own person. And I think even families like his accept a bit of experimentation during college years. It’s only when he moved to Hawaii and opted for a job like True Car (which by tech standards really isn’t a great company) that his parents realised he had broken away from their social code permanently.
The pressure on him would’ve been enormous. His father is the oldest of 10 children, and as the only boy Luigi would’ve been expected to take over that part of the business. It’s telling that his sisters are much older but have nothing to do with the Mangione empire. His oldest sis is a doctor but lives in a different state and has nothing to do with the healthcare business owned by them. That’s because it was being saved for Luigi to inherit.
Luigi’s father was already in his mid-40s when he was born. My sister and I have a big age gap (she’s younger) and by the time she came along my parents were sort of emotionally checked out, and I wonder if Luigi got to be parented by a more jaded, less emotionally open version of his father than his sisters.
His family seems very traditional and conservative, and I don’t want to call them patriarchal, but it does seem like a family which is very male-led. His parents have an age gap too. And I wonder if his dad set the strict rules and stopped him from acting his age and forced him into a million activities, and when he turned to his mother to help him she simply refused to defy her husband and step in, while at the same time being extremely interfering. So it turns into a situation where you turn to a softer parent for save you, and not only do they not help you they also continue being all up in your business while ignoring your very obvious distress and unhappiness.
I think his parents are footing majority of his legal bill. And I feel sad that if he walks free, he might be back under their thumb as compensation for the money and the guilt of putting them through this ordeal. I just want this man to be free in every sense of the world :(
I have yet to read the whole thing. I've only seen the snippets that were posted on reddit, but I've found the whole book on twitter, so I'll probably give it a read later tonight. From what I've seen so far, I think your right about the shooting stuff.
I've seen a few people bring up Luigi being expected to take over the family business as he's the only son, and I can't imagine the burden that can put on someone, especially if its something he didn't want to do.
