D...DTL headcanons?

I am ALWAYS down to answer headcanon questions like this but specifying would really help! :^D /lh I'm super happy you're interested in me potentially rambling about such a niche interest I rarely get asked about!

Buuuuuuuttttt since you didn't ask specifics (you always can by sending another ask!) I suppose I can give you a few of my favorites that I hold very close to my heart!

Wilfre and Dr. Cure are siblings! Adopted siblings, of course. Cure has always been the overprotective big sister and has grieved so much after "losing" him to the shadow. I have a whole redemption arc au and definitely have delved into their dynamic more than is healthy lol, family dynamics are just really important to me

Chef Cookie is a father figure for Jowee who came into town without his parents as a child

Heather is selectively mute

For some reason I headcanon Salem to be like a thousand years old (I'm exaggerating. Maybe like 60) meanwhile wilfre and sock aren't a day over 25???

Also mari and jowee are roughly 20-22 depending on the game. Mari is a year older. Less headcanon and more canon bc its been confirmed they're adults so like errrmmm

That being said jowee and wilfre are in love <3

Unagi is a trans man. So is wilfre

Zsasha is soooooo nonbinary

Basically just a lot of them are gay and/or trans

I have a LOT I could say about Hero/mannequin headcanons I have but that'd call for a whole other post lol it's so much. I've developed Hero lore a ton bc of my own Hero oc. N E Ways I hope that was what you wanted!!!

Y'all I've been thinking about that big DtL polycule, and I think I now have the goal to make it as big as possible without making too much of a stretch. Also there's a bunch of separate alternate universe versions of the polycule(s/couples) where it is split up in various ways. Call it the dtlpcu (Drawn to Life polycule cinematic universe) lol.

Alright for those that don't know who is in this mega polycule so far (which tbh why would you), I shall tell you how this came about and who's involved.

Okay so we start with the Cricket x Zsasha ship. Then we add Unagi to the mix because of the same reason we ship Cricket with Zsasha; their rivalry is very gay.

and then TR happened. This opens up a lot of possibilities for more additions to the polycule.

First off, while we don't see Unagi with Cricket or Zsasha (this could potentially be interpreted as him splitting from them, which is one of the many alternate interpretations I came up with), we DO however see him with Indee and Pirate Beard.

Now we have good reason to headcanon those three being together. If Unagi is with Cricket and Zsasha also, that makes 5 Raposa. ...But we can make it bigger. 😈

In the human realm, what is believed to potentially be Dr. Cure's and Unagi's human counterparts are in a relationship. While this relationship has a bunch of cracks, they do make up in the end. And while human/raposa counterparts don't add up 100%, this is enough reason for someone to ship Unagi with Dr. Cure. (If Unagi is with her AND everyone mentioned before, that makes 6 Raposa)

BUT! What about Dr Cure's husband? She had a husband in the first game! Well one possible interpretation is that the two split up. But another interpretation is that they're still together! (If Dr Cure and her husband are in a poly relationship with everyone else mentioned before, that totals to 7 Raposa).

Okay so that's all, right? WRONG. If we're counting generic Raposa, then Unagi's two assistants and Pirate Beard's two crewmates are taken into consideration too! If we were to add all of them, the total members of the polycule would be 11 Raposa!

May I ask for Wilfre headcanons? More specifically, I remember that you reblogged my depressed Wilf hcs and mentioned that those go along w some of your own headcanons so I'd appreciate some in that direction. Other headcanons are fine too tho.

Well of COURSE I have wilfre hcs I'm just trying to figure out where to start bc there are SO MANY

It's a fairly obvious one, as I'm pretty sure the entire dtl fandom agrees on this, but Wilfre's forms of self care are practically nonexistent- especially when it comes to his sleeping schedule. He's practically made himself nocturnal; staying up late into the night and waking up late in the day. During when he becomes the shadow version of himself though, he finds he doesn't need to sleep as much

Speaking of things he doesnt need to do as much when he becomes a shadow! Eating also falls under this lack of necessity! Something funny about this though is when Wilfre takes the form of a completely normal raposa (cough cough like Sock cough) all these necessities come flooding back to him. When he gets onto the boat with Jowee and everyone else, the realization of "oh hey! I havent eaten in years haha" hits him and he practically gets through the entire food stock the villagers have gathered before they get to Lavasteam

As for the specifics you asked for though...

Shortly before his shadow corruption, if it wasn't obvious enough already, Wilfre's mental health is completely down the drain. He internalizes a lot of the things he feels, even from Mayor (close friend), Dr. Cure (friends, grew up together), and Cookie (friend/semi-father figure?), which is saying a LOT due to how he used to tell them everything. Of course, him keeping all his inner conflict to himself makes things worse, and leads to his inevitable demise

Art is actually an extremely important thing to Wilfre, more than simply a talent he uses to draw in the book of life. It's also a HUGE coping mechanism for him (we really out here projecting onto characters ✌😔), one that he uses quite often to calm himself when his self-sabotaging thoughts get too loud and his anxiety spikes. His favorite thing to draw is portraits!

Trying not to include too much jowfre in this ask in particular bc I know you dont view their relationship the same as I do but I gotta include this......... while disguised as Sock on the ship, Wilfre finds himself incredibly anxious and upset about accidentally revealing who he truly is to everyone and hurting Jowee in the process. During this time, he desperately wants to draw his thoughts away but he can't, as the persona he's put on purposefully has bad handwriting and an inability to draw (the opposite of himself to draw suspicion away). However, sometimes things get too bad for him and he caves to his coping mechanism, doodling different raposa on Turtle Rock (specifically Jowee haha). He hides the papers some place no one can find them... that is until after he reveals himself as Wilfre. Jowee finds the papers a day or so after the big reveal and gets even more upset about the whole situation than he already is :^((( he wants to throw all the drawings into the ocean and get rid of every trace of them, but cant bring himself to

This uh. Got very out of hand very quickly, and got VERY long but uh. Hopefully this works for now. I have so many more things to include later on some day lmao
