DUCK LUCIFER
Crochet 3,5mm or 4mm (I use 3,5mm because I don’t have a 4mm crochet)
Yarn: D.M.C Knitty 4 Ref 8120 (4mm): 1 white, red, orange and yellow/gold
Terms:
- Ch = chain
- Sc: single crochet
- Dc: double corchet
- St = stich
- Sts = stiches
- Sc2tog = single corchet 2 together (or decrease)
- Inc = increase
- Sl = slip
- Sk = skip
I) FOR THE DUCK
a) 1st Part of the body: WHITE Yarn
R1: ch 2 and insert 8 sc in the second ch from the hook (8)
R2: inc around by sc twice in each stich (st) (16)
R3: (sc1, inc1) x8 (24)
R4-R7: sc 24 (24 - 4 rounds)
R8: decrease by crocheting 2 together all around (sc2tog) (12)
R9: inc all around (24)
R10: sc 22, inc twice (26)
R11: sc 23, inc twice, sc (28)
R12: sc 24, inc twice, sc 2 (30)
R13: sc 25, inc twice, sc 3 (32)
R14: sc around (32)
b) Beak: at the front of the face: ORANGE Yarn
R1: ch in between R5-R6 of the head, sc 2 then sl st
R2: turn, skip a st, sc 2, sl st in last st. FO and weave the ends inside the body of the duck.
c) Eyes
Attach them either on the same level as the beak or on the upper row. Not to far from the beak, 1 or 2 sts away.
d) 2nd part of the body: WHITE Yarn
R15: (sc1, sc2tog once)x2, sc 10, (sc2tog, sc1)x3. Sc2tog 2, sc, sc2tog (24)
R16: (sc1, sc2tog once)x8 (16)
Start putting the stuffing into you duck's body.
R17: sc2tog all around (8) Add stuffing.
R18: sc2tog all around (4) Finish stuffing the body.
R19: sc2tog all around (2)
R20: finish decreasing (sc2tog) and weave the tail of the yarn into the body.
e) Wings
1st and 3rd wings:
R1: RED Yarn - ch 2, dc in the same st as the ch. Dc 2 in each of the next 4 sts.
R2: switch to WHITE Yarn (introduce white strand at the base of last st of R1) - ch2, turn, sk a st, sc in next 2 sts, sl st.
Weave strands of WHITE and RED and bury it in the body of the duck.
2nd wing –middle wing:
R1: RED - ch 2, dc in the same st as the ch. Dc 2 in each of the next 6 sts.
R2: ch1, turn, sk a st, sc in the 7 sts.
R3: ch1, turn, dc in the 7 sts.
R4: Sk st x2 along ridge of the wing to come back to the base of the wing then switch to WHITE Yarn - ch2, turn, sk a st, sc in next 2 sts, sl st.
Weave strands of WHITE and RED and bury it in the body of the duck.

II) FOR THE TOP HAT
a) Hat
R1: WHITE Yarn - ch 2, sc 6 sts in the 1st ch (6)
R2: inc in each sts (12)
R3: (sc1, inc1)x8 (18)
R4: sc 18 through back loop of R3 (or interior loop) (18)
R5-9: sc 18 (4 rounds)
R10: switch to RED Yarn - sc 18 (1 round)
R11: sc 18
R12: (sc7, sc2tog)x2 (16)
R13: switch back to WHITE Yarn - in front loop (exterior of hat):
(sc2, inc1)x5, inc1 last time (22)
R14: (sc1, inc1)x11 (33).
Keep a long tail so that you can sew your hat on the duck at the end.

b) Snake: YELLOW/GOLD Yarn
R1: 1ch in back of the hat; 2)sc in 2 to 3 sts at the base of the hat; 3) ch 3; 4) (sc2, ch3)until you're back to the beginning of the tail.
R2: ch 36 then sc in sts 35 and 34. Cut the yar and weave the end in the round head of the snake.
End: weave the serpent in R1 by weaving it in between the (ch3) parts of the row 1.
c) Apple: RED Yarn
R1: ch 2, sc 6 in 1st st (6)
R2: sc 3, inc, sc 2 (7)
R3: sc 2, sc2tog, sc1, sc2tog (5)
R4: sc2tog until you can close the apple. Keep a long tail and sew the apple on the hat thanks to the tail by weaving it in the hat.
d) Crown:
Take some yellow or golden tissu and sew it on the hat.
III) BOW : BLACK Yarn
1st: ch 9
R1: sk first ch, 8sc (8)
R2: turn, ch 1, 8sc (8). Pull off the end, cut the yarn and weave the end in between sts.
Use some yarn to make a knot in the middle and attach it to the duck.
IV) FINISHING
Depending on how your hat looks like, you might have to put some stuffing in to have it not crease on the inside.
Weave the WHITE tail of the hat from the outside to the base of the hat then use it to sew the hat on top of the duck's head. Finish off and bury what's left of the tail inside the duck's body.

WIP of my ducky lucifer, working on the bow and I still have to make the lapels to and get some tissu for the crown and undershirt (gotta be honest, I'm not sure I'll do the undershirt yet 😅)
