Every night at Studio 54 was a party, but some nights were particularly special. The New York discotheque hosted annual events for holidays like Halloween, New Year’s Eve, and Valentine's Day, often building extravagant decorations on the scale of theater sets. It was also a venue for more exclusive events, including celebrity birthdays, the launch for Andy Warhol's "Interview" magazine, and even a movie premiere for the 1978 musical "Grease." Guests could be counted on to create costumes that took avant-garde fashion to the next level, and these events heightened the sense that anything was possible at Studio 54; on that dancefloor, you could be whoever you wanted to be.
