Holy hell what is even happening?

Okay so I can maybe count on 2 hands the amount of OPs I have ever made on this questionable life decision of a site and the same will most likely hold true to the amount of people who will see this post but holy fucking hell Overwatch fandom, what the hell is wrong with you!? Yes this is about the "shipping war" that's going on right now and the kicker is that I generally try to avoid shipping characters at all but I have no problem with anyone who does! I actually like that other people do passionately ship character because that often results in some kick ass fanart, comics, jokes and generally all around amazing stuff! That is why I am actually making an OP, I browse the Overwatch tag a lot because I love seeing all these talented people show off their their works and use their skills because they have so much passion for this game, for their ships and for people like me who just enjoy seeing their contributions on my tiny phone screen. Today I saw "fans" using their talents to to insult people. Browsing the Overwatch tag tonight after I was done work I am seeing fanart that seemed to be drawn for the sole purpose of attacking people. Yes, I know they were actually attacking the gency ship, but when you attack someone's ship you are also attacking their interests and/or passions simply because YOU want Mercy to be with someone else because they are YOUR "one true pairing". Yes angry pharmercy shippers (not you normal pharmacy shippers, keep making cool shit) this is aimed at you. Unfortunately browsing the Overwatch tag means I have to drudge through a lot of less desirable shit to find cool shit. Butthurt is common less desirable shit. Attacking Blizzards writers because of a fucking gods damn voice line!? Being an all around giant dingus? Using your talent to attack others? Do you see genyatta doing this shit? Mcgenji? (I am so sorry if that is not the ship name, I just know people ship them) maybe some grumbling and a bit of butt hurt but nothing terrible. People have a right to be upset, but not to out right attack people. Angry pharmercy shippers you feel attacked because blizzard put a possible gency voice line in Overwatch but the only people I see attacking anyone are you guys and it makes me so sad to see that this fandom is capable of this level of hate. Yes there may be gency retaliation attacks but what did you expect? Hate breeds hate I guess. Widowtracer took so much more of a blow than you did and look at them, they are still kicking and making cool shit! Anyone can ship whoever they want calm your shit Even though I said I avoid shipping characters, now that I am at the end of my rant I will admit I do lean slightly toward gency simply because I am boring and to lazy to be creative with ships and Mercy and Genji have a lot of confirmed history with eachother, not because they are my "OTP". I am boring, but don't be an ass and call gency boring. ...
