Colleague: I would never go into a shop/restaurant we have in the UK while holidaying abroad.

*Me, researching if the Blahaj mascot ever does meet and greets in Tokyo*

#I understand where she's coming from to an extent #but I don't think 'the authentic experience' of a country's culture is limited to traditional archetypes #e.g would she avoid trying Kare because she doesn't see curry as a Japanese food??? where does she draw the line?#I'm not a huge fan of globalisation but if a western chain has a JP exclusive menu item I'm gonna go and try it
