"In Hawkins...?" Eddie asked. He was about to bite out the cynical spiel he would normally bark out while parading himself as king of the freaks. The outcasts. But God if he couldn't remember how much he just wanted people to like him once upon a time. He remembered being twelve, and watching all the kids with their friends, laughing and having fun. He remembered how much he so desperately wanted someone to laugh with. Someone to smile with. He had so badly just wanted someone to see him. Not the Freak. Him.

So who was Jane?

"You do fit in," he told her quietly; his voice came a lot gentler than it might have for some. "You fit in right where you're supposed to. With the people who would die for you, who would go to bat for you. Wheeler, Henderson, Byers, Sinclair? You fit with them. And you pair like nothing else with Red. Max? Yeah, Jane. You're right where you're supposed to be, 'kay?

"Sure... some assholes are gonna see the storm that you are... but sweetheart you are an absolute force of nature. And you shouldn't ever change that about yourself. You're strong, and you're smart as hell, and you've got more heart than people in this town know how to handle. Some people are afraid of the thunder, and the rain, and all the chaos of a storm. But..."

Eddie put his arm over her shoulders gently so he could pull her against his side in a sweet and reassuring squeeze.

"You've found the people who love everything that you are, kid. You're not alone out there, I promise. If you ever need to remember, come find me, got it? I got plenty hugs to spare, and they're always free. And I sure as shit know you don't need me throwing fists for you... but I will. Just point me at any jerk who makes you feel less than. I swear, I'll make them regret it."

"I think you are someone who cares a lot about others and someone like that can't be a monster," Theo said, looking over at Jane with soft eyes. He hated that she saw herself as a monster, especially since she had saved so many people.

Noticing the other's gaze move down to her hands, Theo grabbed a hold of them. "I will keep reminding you until you believe it," they said as they gave Jane's hands a gentle squeeze.
