I think that everyone has at least one tidbit of Splatoon Canon Lore Information that they are perfectly well aware of, and also disregard entirely.
#for me (and I feel a lot of other people) it's the fact that they dissolve in water. no they surely don't#it is so clearly an attempt at a canon lore reason for a Game Mechanic that didn't need it#and we are also told that they take baths. that they shower. you know. two very water dependent activities.#I fully believe that it was silly thing to explain game mechanic without fully comprehending the consequences. like. you know. rain.#easier explanation with less devastating consequences that acknowledges Game Mechanic and also works for the stages that. you know.#DON'T HAVE WATER.#is that if you go out of bounds in a match they explode you and send you back to respawn as a penalty. which is basically what it is#all this is okay because splatoon contradicts its own ingame lore anyways sometimes. like baby Callie and Marie art where they have#full human forms despite VERY clearly not being 14 yet#oh also weird lore: ink eating microbes.#like. yeah? so the microbes eat all the ink almost instantly post match. but not during it? it stays long enough for Judd to judge?#You HAVE things that EAT INK in your GAME. you could've had them unleash a pack of squee-g's after a match is judged!!!#I say all this like I don't think the microbes are funny but I do think about this. it keeps me awake at night.
