❝ diamond in the rough — ♡

          she’s set for days of filming soon and the thought of it alone is a little exhausting but they made it through weeks of promotion with chase me as six. thinking of that, ariel’s certain she can make it through while thinking of how they’re working hard too and it’s for that reason that she plops down on blue’s bed instead of her own, legs crossed underneath her as she towel dries her hair and waits for her roommate to finish like most nights. it just doesn’t feel right anymore if she’s not doing her best to bother    —   she means talk to sun after a long day. “ okay, missy, ” she calls out in loud english as soon as the door opens. “ now that we’re back home, let’s get to business. ” a joke, really, and yet this is what she asks of ahyoung. “ come on, let’s see it. chop chop! ” 

          clapping her hands together, she almost drops the pillow she’d set on her lap and makes a face as she mouths oops when she settles it back in place with one hand, the other clapping her thigh instead. “ i want to see your special talent! are you ready for knowing brothers? are you really ready? can you handle this knowing sister instead, ” and she says the word sister in english, wiggling her brows like a damn fool as she does. “ it has to be pg after all so your special talent can’t be the same as you know, ” another wiggle of her brows and she’s laughing shamelessly. “ but really, have you chosen yet? i’m dying to know. ”

With lyrics and choreography already being worked on, the girls of Eclipse simply have to do everything else regarding a comeback. Their new or renewed hair colors will be put to good use as, this month, pieces fit onto their shapes through the process they’ve already been through two times before. Nothing is more exciting than something new!

The girls were notified on the first that the recordings of the songs would take place two days later, on the 3rd. The girls will go in order of age. The one recording next is expected to wait in the room to make the process as smooth as possible. Once you’re done, go back to practice and tell the next girl to go up. On the 6th, the girls will leave for the Seoul Olympic Park for their album photo shoot in different outfits, surrounded by nature.

Only a bit longer than a week after they were first introduced to their intense choreography, Eclipse is already sent off for their music video recording, starting on June 10th.

While all the girls must dedicate themselves to these very important preparations, one of them also had something else to be worried about. It’s June 5th, the day before their photo shoot, when Minji receives the news through her manager, Yeunhye, that the main role for the webdrama ‘Game Developing Girls’ is hers. The scripts sent for her to learn were sent on the day after and got to the girl’s hands once she returned to the dorm.

On June 8th, only a few days later, Minji will go to a small gathering party with the producers and co-stars for her to get to know them. She was reminded that the plans for Eclipse’s comeback have not yet been revealed and should be kept as a secret for the time being. She’ll officially meet them again for script reading before they’re able to start with recordings. These will take place in two different days, on June 13th and June 14th to not only make sure they’re ready to deliver their lines but also to check on their chemistry.

The webdrama will consist of 11 episodes ranging from 5 to 8 minutes in length. Due to this, the recording won’t take as long as it would for a bigger project. Recordings will start on a Monday, the 17th, and go until the 28th, taking a day break on Sunday, the 23rd. They’ll be recording around an episode a day with proper breaks for the cast and crew. The day of the release will be announced later on, aiming for the end of July.

A comeback is never complete simply by having your songs and music video on the ready, though. To promote their next release, the members of Eclipse will all go for the recording of two different variety shows. On June 19th, five members (excluding Minji who will be busy with recordings) will take part in the filming of ‘Knowing Brothers’ inspired by Episode 21 which can be seen here. Following the theme of the show and episode, the group will announce their transfer to the school since they excelled in the made-up ‘KT Middle School’ and skipped years to reach the Brother high school. Each member will have to come up with what they excelled in, as well as show off their chosen talent, as can be seen in the reference video. Following the progress of the show, they’ll also have to come up with questions about themselves that the cast will have to guess the answers to, as well as take part in the other segments and skits shown. This episode will air on July 6th, before their comeback. On July 1st, all six members of Eclipse will record an episode of ‘Weekly Idol’ as inspired by the one seen here. This episode will air on July 17th, after their comeback date.

The date of their comeback has been set for July 10th.

These, however, were not the only news the girls received on this activity-packed month. As announced on the previous month, KT Entertainment will be holding their KT World Concert in Tokyo this year on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of August, and Eclipse will be one of the acts attending. For now, the girls are simply instructed to keep their title songs in check and any further instructions will come in the future.

As this is not a promotional month, you may choose any two achievements for the month’s points. There is a capped maximum of five solos, sets of starters and/or partnered threads you may write for to collect this month’s points.

* For clarification, old threads from previous months will count towards points so long as they fulfill the requirements as explained on the idol tier page. However, at least one of this month’s requirements must be written about the schedule to gain any points for June.

The only form that needs to be submitted at the end of the month is a verification form for your debut points and achievements. Any SP points earned can be collected as soon as you finish the requirement for them. At the end of the month, you will submit the following form to the Points Verification blog:

❝ GAME DEVELOPMENT GIRLS, TABLE READING   —   6월13일       ✦

          the notes on her lap feel more complete this time around, more knowledge of the plot, of the character, some familiarity with her co-stars. the nerves that wrack her mind this time around are much different from those on the day of the audition last month. in fact, she feels like things are moving a lot faster in comparison and her experience during dream high feels like a lifetime ago to compare them. still, she does, wonders if this is the difference of a web drama to a tv drama. maybe that’s it. 

          because she remembers everything else that came with dream high and how large of a production it is. in comparison, she can’t tell which she prefers, if she prefers one to the other. her manager’s voice breaks through her thoughts and she nods with a smile, getting out of the car and heading in while trying to keep everything from falling out of her hands. ariel considers a vice grip a certain skill women adapt because of the horrible unavailability of pockets. she complained about it to haseul time and time again, probably to blue a few times since they moved into the same room, and it’s something she’s told most people at least once   —   so she somehow holds onto her phone, a pen, a water bottle, and a small packet of red ginseng herbal drink as she gets out, her copy of the script and a notebook cradled in the nook of her arm. 

          although she’d met them all now, has sent a few messages back and forth to get to know each other more before officially filming, they’re reading their lines together for the first time and it’s . . . overwhelming. overwhelming that she’s essentially alone for this, overwhelming that soon she’ll be missing one of their first major variety show recordings as a group for this, and she wishes she called the girls before heading in, as if hearing their voices would help, and instead she had settled for listening to their recordings of the new song on her phone, ones from practice to help each other and give advice because, this time, jennie has to sing live with them. she’d worked hard for it, they all did, and she feels stronger at the thought. 

          when some of her co-stars arrive, she can’t help herself   —   her phone is out and she’s showing them how to play good night on the new game. when one teases her for promoting her own group, she’s grinning, laughing as she nods her head. “ wait, hey, i’d support them as much if i wasn’t in it too! ” another jokes that they had no idea she was in it, especially with the glasses she wears now and the ones she’ll be wearing for the role. “ am i like clark kent? unrecognizable when i take the glasses off? sounds cool to me, ” and it’s only fitting, once they start, they’ll all be taking on another role than who they are. that idea too brings her comfort. for now, she’s happy being eclipse’s minji as she challenges the one closest to her to beat her high score. they are going to be game development girls after all.

❝ deja vu pt. 2 — ♡

          to be honest, one of her biggest concerns upon hearing of the role and especially after getting it is haseul   —   after dream high, things began to change more between them and it snowballed into what it was before they spoke early into eclipse being established. to think of it possibly happening again made ariel wonder if it’d be worth it in the end. she struggled with worrying over it and simply having faith in her friendship with haseul, that they were bigger and better than that, that haseul would be happier for her this time. ( it helps that it’s not a singing role, right? ) 

          even so, she is quiet when she approaches haseul early in the morning before they head into training, opening the fridge and getting the water out. two glasses in front of the counter for now   —   the other members don’t seem to be awake yet anyway   —   she holds one out to her best friend after she’s poured it out, eyes contemplative as she leans back against the counter. “ this song is really perfect for you and yeri. do you like it? i don’t think we’ve spoken about that yet. te gusta? ” she asks with a soft laugh, using the sparse amount of spanish she learned while living in california.

❝ LOVES ME, LOVES ME NOT   —   6월5일       ✦

          there was a small part of her that almost forgot about the audition   —   almost being the key word of course because there was no way for her to act as if it didn’t weigh on her mind from time to time still. before the audition and certainly after, even if she had a much lighter heart after knowing she did her best and gave all the heart she could as someone from kt. today, that small part of her reigned as they went through outfit after outfit for the mv filming so when yeunhye-unnie calls her away to tell her the news, she’s more than surprised. 

          the smile is there on her lips but the shock remains in her widened eyes, a sharp inhale that she’s yet to release as she reaches out for their manager’s hand. “ really? oh my god, unnie, can you pinch me? ” and she pulls away even though she’d asked, not actually wanting it. the disbelief would linger either way and she hopes it’s not a prank. and there’s something else a small part of her almost forgets   —   they’re about to have another comeback but filming will undoubtedly take her away for the girls even if the drama doesn’t seem that long, doesn’t seem as if filming will take that long. 

          still, it’s within the first year of their debut and her excitement quells for a few moments. the cheerful tone dulls slightly and she bows to their manager with an appreciative look before returning just in time to try the next outfit. in days, they’ll film the new mv and she already feels like she’s behind if she wants to give her all to the girls too. what she’d told ahyoung two months ago comes back to her and she wonders if she really does need to ask whether the girls know how much she loves them or not.

❝ START OF SOMETHING NEW   —   6월8일       ✦

          attending any event without the girls after so many months of working together, before and after debut now, she feels a little off. she feels as if there’s something missing and it’s quite obvious what is   —   the girls are what’s missing and she’s surprised at how lost she feels without them for a moment. there’s only a few minutes before they reach the location of the cast party and she’s failed to gather her thoughts until now. tempted to pat her face with her hands, she quickly catches herself and remembers the light makeup applied, how she can’t possibly tarnish such natural looking work. truthfully, she’s bound to if there’s snacks and the lip tint that was so prettily set will disappear. but for now, isn’t appearance everything? 

          she hadn’t thought that in quite some time   —   even if she acknowledges how much of the industry is based off looks, she hadn’t worried too much about first impressions and this is more nerve-wracking than all the other interviews she’s done, except maybe the one for royal years ago. wow, was it really years since then? years since everything? she remembers how ironic it felt that dream high was for kt and royal when she’d wanted so badly to be part of the other company. now, she can’t imagine being anywhere else and it’s the path that’s brought her here. it’s the path that has her saying hi a little too enthusiastically when she introduces herself. 

          normally, she’s the perfect picture of confidence when introducing herself to someone but now she worries, cowers a bit, and she realizes it’s because, compared to singing, to training to be an idol, she feels so new in the acting world. her talent still seems raw no matter what experience she might have and she understands in this moment that, just like everything she trains for in order to perform on stage, she needs to train just as hard to perform on a different kind of stage again. it’ll take some getting used to and that train of thought is what gets her back on track ( ba dum tss )

          her smile is relaxed, the tension in her shoulders and fingers ebb away, and she’s just as talkative as ever as she discusses all the characters with her fellow co-stars and the producers, her vision coming to life the more she talks, hyper hand movements and an enthusiastic show of the glasses she’s been trying to match. is this how troy and gabriella felt in high school musical? because she swears she’s ready to sing this is the start of something new or maybe she’s drunk off the vibe of the party. all she knows is that she’s flying now and she can’t wait to tell the girls when she gets back.
