While I'm still angry at Lijsbeth I feel like it's a good time to mention that she had an elder brother who was very successful & had a wonderful family. He was well-adjusted & well-respected & Lijsbeth hated him with a passion. He was the first man Lijsbeth murdered. She killed him. His wife. His children. & burned their house down. After that, Lijsbeth realized she could get away with murder & the Loft family tree started dropping like flies. This is why Ara has no other relatives aside from her mother & is the last of her bloodline. Realizing that Ara was a lesbian brought a sick sense of relief to Lijsbeth for a variety of reasons - but she especially loved the idea that Ara would be the last Loft.
