In the Pokémon Au, why did Indus start collecting gym badges?

short answer? fun. long answer? his hometown was actually chosen by a professor to help distribute pokedexes. or well, pokedex singular. they only happened to get one, and well. they chose indus! so he started his pokemon journey.

gathering badges is pretty on-par for dex holders, and indus wasnt any different! but the thing is, indus... really isnt interested in challenging the elite four. rather, he likes collecting badges because of the memories attached to them. and also theyre cool. have you seen some of those things? 

while this wasnt exactly the plan from the professors end, indus’ folks are really incredibly proud of him! and hes having fun, so whos the real winner here? though it should be known that his refusal to do the elite four challenge isnt because hes a bad battler-- honestly, its quite the opposite. he just prefers travelling with his pokemon and making friends over the lights and crowds of the big stadium. and well, hes doing a fantastic job of that!

Can we get some info on Molly in the Pkmn AU?

i went into mollys bg a liiiil bit in other posts, but i just realized.. i forgot to talk about her pokemon skdjgh

her starter is a teddiursa named buttons! her mom got it for her when she was 10, and now theyre like two peas in a pod! while buttons mostly acts as a friend, she also practically qualifies as an emotional support pokemon. especially after... well, yknow.

neither of them have any battle experience, considering how... busy... their schedule is, but despite this, molly is a shockingly good strategizer. if she was actually given the chance, she would probably do pretty well in the gym circuit! 

but instead she had to stay home and watch over the store. and then she got pulled into a major crime organization. whoops. on that note though, this is where she got her second team member: a poochyena named patches! he’s a bit of a rascal, young and wily, but ultimately kindhearted. patches also has a sister-- another poochyena on giovanni’s team named scraps. the two were meant to be an assigned pokemon from the blasters, but giovanni swiped them after quitting as a captain, as a final act of defiance. 

so now she has two friends! her family just kind of assumed she picked up her second just... off the street, but they don’t particularly care enough to question it further. molly isn’t sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. it saves the trouble of explaining how she was a banzai blaster for a bit, at least.

ykno its Really Really funny you mention this because like. i also didnt realize that for a hot minute ksjdfghdkjfhkg

it was actually kind of hand-in-hand with assigning ramsey a lucario pokesona (which also shockingly was...entirely unrelated to this au ksjdfghdkg) and i went “oh yeah zoroark is a good counterpart/opposite to lucario :) because obviously this makes sense.” and the rest is history

As a Pokémon trainer, do you think Indus has most of his Pokémon use moves like Protect, Light Screen, Reflect, and of course Barrier?

oh absolutely. most of his pokemon know reflect or protect, but his golurk has barrier. which is weird, because golurk cant... really learn that move. 

actually, his first gym loss was at a fighting type gym that actively used brick break. and indus... was absolutely fascinated. after he trained up enough to beat it, he ended up teaching it to all of his pokemon. or well, most of them. dogs dont exactly have hands for smashin.
